In the Alpha’s office

Dana walked in and found Lazarus seemingly lost in thoughts. He barely made a reaction even after she walked inside. With Aziel in her arms, she sat in front of him. "Is everything alright?" she asked drawing his attention to her and the baby in her arms.

Lazary looked at his mate and son whom he had just gotten. He was being breastfed by Dana and his little hand was placed on his mother’s breast as if he didn’t want to let go. Lazarus’ mind drifted to the conversation he had with Raven. They already had a lot to deal with having the vampires and spell casters on to them, they didn’t need humans to become another one that would be added to the list.

He could not imagine what he would do if she was to lose his family to the humans. Though they were the stronger race, humans were more in number and their technology which was only getting better would prove difficult to deal with. If he lost his family and pack, he would do more than just kill humans.

"Everything is fine," for now. He said finishing the rest in his mind. "Sorry, I left you alone in bed." He apologized.

"You had work to do, I understand," Dana replied, her gaze moving from him to Aziel who was done suckling, she ran a napking across his little mouth to clean up the spilled milk and covered her breast. "Something bothers you, Lazarus, I can tell." She said. Her eyes glazed over for a moment before she looked back at him. "What is it?"

A knock was heard from the door drawing their attention to it. "Come in," Dana said granting permission. The door was opened and a maid walked inside and bowed to the alpha and Luna.

"You called for me, Luna?" She asked with her head still bowed.

"I did," Dana replied, "I want you to take care of Aziel for a while, I will be there to help you soon." She said and handed the boy to her.

The maid took the baby and left with a bow and a "Yes Luna," and closed the door as she left.

Dana’s eyes that followed them to the door were now focused on her mate. "Lazarus?" She called his name.

He extended his hands to her, she placed her in his. "I don’t want you to worry about anything, my love, let me handle it all," Lazarus said. He stared into her eyes and she stared back at him.

"I want to help," Dana said, There was both concern and determination in her voice and her eyes. "We are meant to work together, to support each other." She stood up and walked over to stand in front of him in the space between him and the table, she then cupped his face in her palms, let me do my job as your Luna and help you where I can."

Lazarus stared into her eyes, wrapping his hands around her, he pulled her closer and buried his face in her stomach and she placed her hands on his head and her fingers weaving his hair. "I am afraid, Dana." He said. His arms around her tightening. "I fear I would lose you and Aziel,"

"We will be right here Lazarus," Dana said. She hugged him trying to let him know that she was there. "We are not going anywhere."

"I feel a storm coming, Dana." He said and raised his head from her stomach to look at her face. "An inevitable storm,"

"We will go through it together, no matter what it is that is coming," Dana said to him. He closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath.

"I won’t let anything happen to you and our son." He promised. " I will do whatever it takes to ensure your safety and the safety of our pack."

"I know you will and we will be right beside you and support you," Dana said. "I think it is time you get some rest."

He made her sit on his lap and snaked his hand around her again. Placing his head on her shoulder, he said, "Stay like this. I would like to stay like this." He breathed in her scent and closed his eyes. He took one of her hands and placed it on his hair, "This is perfect."

"Rest then, my lovely Alpha, I will be right here," Dana said and gently combed his hair with her fingers in a soothing motion.

Away from the Blood Moon Pack, in the Shadow Moon Pack,

The elders from the different packs had started pouring in ready for the meeting to commence but at the same, they knew they had to wait there were many more that were yet to come. They were received by Elder Willians the resident elder of the pack and sent to different rooms to rest while they waited for the arrival of the others.

While inside the alpha’s mansion, Ezra was ready to depart and head to the Blood Moon pack as his time in the Shadow Moon pack was up. He had spoken to both Kora and Darren the night before and he did not see any reason to stay behind when he was needed at home.

He had spoken to Lazarus a few minutes ago and he could somehow deduce that his alpha was bothered about something. Maybe he was wrong but his gut feeling told him to return.

"Say goodbye to Gaia for me." He said to Kora. He hugged her and for the first time, she allowed him, although she just stood stiffly for the first few seconds she threw her hands around him and hugged him.

Ezra had always been a good listener and exercised as much patience with her just like Lazarus, listening to her and even understanding her when she did not want to speak. At times like that, they just let her be and wait for when she was ready to talk and they will listen." I will let her know," Kora said. "Thank you." She says after pulling apart.

Ezra who was not expecting a thank you from her was taken aback. He raised a brow in askance and she pouted at him but she said, "Thank you for always being there."

Ezra smiled and ruffled her hair, "You have always been like and little sister to me, I was happy to do what I did."

a small smile appeared on her lips and she nodded her head. They turned to walk towards the door and met Darren outside with Emily who had just arrived in time to say her bye to the gamma. "I will miss you gamma Ezra," Emily said going into the opened arms of Ezra hugging him for a minute longer before stepping aside. "Say hello to Alpha and Luna and also to beta Ravem and Aunt Rosie."

"What about your parents?" Ezra asked because she had just mentioned them.

"I will call them on the phone." She answered.

Ezra nodded at her before turning to face Darren.

"I will take my leave now, Alpha Darren," He said and then gave him a nod. Ezra looked at Darren and the boy he used to know as the Alpha supreme had grown into a man. A man who was still feared and hated just like when he was younger but he had grown aloof to it all and still did whatever he wanted and no one could stop him.

"Take care, and remember what we have discussed," Darren said shaking the hand of Ezra.

"I will but you should know that the final decision isn’t mine to make, but the Alpha’s." Lazarus. He dropped his hand to his side and after receiving nod from Darren he turned to look at Kora who stood beside Darren. "Take care of yourself and call if you need anything."

"Take care of yourself too," Kora said and watched as Ezra walked into one of the cars whose door was held open by one of the two guards who had come to accompany Kora. The car drove off with only Ezra inside.

In the cafe at the Human City,

David Spears could be seen sitting with another man who looked similar in age but a bit younger and had a scar on his left eye. There was a cup of hot coffee in front of each of them which there were yet to touch.

There were not many people in the cafe and the place was quiet with only a few whispers coming from the few customers that were scattered across the tables.

The other man pulled a picture from his pocket and placed it on the table." is this the man? Because he was the one I found." The man asked.

"Yes, that is him," David said. A deep frown appeared on his face as stared at the photo in front of him. The man didn’t look like he aged at all from the last time he saw him, he still looked the same. " When was this photo taken, Jack?"

"A week ago." The man named Jack answers and the frown on David’s face only deepened." Is there any problem?" Jack asked not understanding the reason behind David’s frown.
