The cars drove in one after the other at the alpha’s mansion in the Shadow Moon Pack. Leo and Logan appeared at the front of the house and waited for them. While Lucy and Lucinda were yet to arrive.

The pack members watched as the cars came in and they saw the new set of people that had accompanied their alpha and one of them stood out over the rest.

Her hair and eyes drew a lot of attention and they wondered why she had hair and eyes that colour. The most surprising that was that the alpha held her possessively in his arms as he led her inside the mansion.

"Welcome home, Luna Kora," Leo said being the one who was most familiar with her.

"Thank you," Kora said. Her eyes took in the house she had just stepped into. It did not look like a pack and she could tell the moment she got in.

"Welcome back Alpha," Leo and Logan greeted Darren who only gave them a look before walking past them.

Ezra walked inside the pack house, he was impressed at how lavish Darren’s mansion was. It lived up to the name of being the Supreme Alpha’s residence as it screamed wealth and power.

Emily and Levi also walked inside. They came to the Alpha’s residence first because it would be rude and disrespectful to have just left and gone straight to Levi’s house without accompanying the Alpha first.

"Will you be spending the night hers?" Mateo asked Ezra who had made himself comfortable as soon as he entered the living room.

"Yes, I will leave in the morning," Ezra replied.

"The Alpha’s mansion does not house guests, you will have to stay in the pack house," Mateo informed him.

"There isn’t a guest room in here that I can use for one night?" Ezra asked sitting properly.

"There are many rooms, but this is the alpha’s private residence. All pack guests stay in the pack house." Mateo said with a tired look as if it was costing him years having to say it over and again to him. "I will have someone arrange a room for you in the pack house."

"He can stay the night here but arrange a place for those two to stay," Darren said looking at the two warriors who were to stay with Kora. "They will be almost permanent here."

"Understood Alpha," Mateo said before leaving the Alpha’s residence.

Right after Mateo left the mansion, Lucy and Lucinda appeared in the living room standing in front of Ezra. If he had not known what he could do and also seen most of them he had met including Dana apparate before he would get a heart attack at the unexpected appearance.

The two women frowned on seeing Ezra in there. Was the Alpha back? They asked themselves inwardly. She then turned towards the stairs and found him standing there while he watched them.

" Welcome back, Alpha, " they both said and started walking towards him. They looked beside and behind him but they could not see anyone.

"We heard from Mateo that you found our luna, is that true, Alpha? " Lucy asked, she now stood in front of Darren with a curious gaze. "Where is she?"

"Where did you go?" Darren asked without answering their question.

"We had something to find in the library," Lucy replied.

"She is inside unpacking." Darren walked past them walking where Ezra was seated. Standing, he asked. "So you plan to stay for the meeting with council elders?"

"It’s tomorrow?" Ezra asked not sure if he should stay at this point. the deal was for him to return to the Blood Moon pack the next day, but this was something also important. "No, I won’t be staying." He replied. Though important, it was against his alpha’s orders.

"soothe yourself." Said Darren and made his way to the door. He stood there and watched the pack. He saw some children playing at a distance away from the house but they stopped playing when he looked that way as if they could him looking at them. His thoughts drifted to when he was little in this same pack when his father was still the alpha.

Children used to play but he was never a part of them. He was always on the sidelines- watching because no one wanted to play with him, the Alpha’s son who was an omega. Back then he was greatly affected and often never came out but he would have to worry about his ’wonderful father’s abuse and hear his mother, trying to defend him.

Because of that he always kept to himself, hiding from everyone including his peers, until one day when Leo and Logan found him. Unlike the other children, these two came and invited him to play along with them. He was reluctant to do so at first but remembering how he was always left out, and the longing to play with other children, children his age, he accepted their invitation.

But when they reached where the other children were, they all stopped moving and looked at him as if he was garbage that they should look down on. Darren felt hurt and looked at the two boys who had asked him to come and play with them. When he saw the anger that appeared on their faces, he was sure that there did not have plans to humiliate him.

He had tugged them away from the other children when he thought that a fight would break out because it would only lead him into more trouble with his father.

His thoughts returned to the present as he watched the children leave with most of them looking in the direction of the mansion even though they could not see him. He didn’t know why he remembered something like that when it did not matter anymore. His childhood was long gone and forgotten except for the few good memories which he had refused to let go of.

Are you alright Alpha?" Levi asked walking up to Darren from the inside. He stood beside his alpha looking in the same direction as him.

"I am fine, Levi," Darren replied. "She is here now everything will be alright," Darren said. He turned to look at his friend and offered him a small smile that disappeared quicker than it came.

"We will be here for you, Darren, don’t ever forget that," Levi said placing his hand on Darren’s shoulder.

Darren gave an appreciative nod to him. "Gather the pack in the pack house, I will introduce them to their luna soon," Darren said and Levi nodded his. "This might also be the right time for you to introduce yours to them," Darren suggested. "Words must have spread everywhere by now and the council come here tomorrow, get her prepared."

"I will, alpha," Levi said. He went inside to get Emily so they could leave for his house. He walked upstairs and towards the Alpha’s room where she was with Kora. "I am sorry Luna but I have to borrow Emily from you." He said drawing the attention of the two women inside the room.

"You can go now, Emily, I can do it just fine," Kora said seeing that Emily was not leaving.

"The servants will be here to help if she needs it," Levi said again. Emily finally relented and stood up to leave.

"Call me if you need me okay, and I will be right here, faster than you can blink." Emily walked out of the room with Levi and met with Darren on the way coming up to his room.

Darren came to stand behind Kora who was standing in front of the closet as she arranged her clothes inside. He hugged her from behind and placed his chin on her shoulder.

"How do you like the place?" He asked her. He felt bad for leaving her side after showing the room, but he wanted to give some space to her with her friend so she could slowly adapt to the new environment.

"It’s nice," Kora replied. She placed her hands on his hands that were around her and leaned into him.

"I am glad you like it," Darren said and kissed her neck. He turned her around to face him. "I want to introduce you to the pack later, are you fine with that?"

"Yes," Kora replied.

"They might not like you." He said to her wanting to prepare her and let her know what to expect. "This pack, they don’t like me."

Kora looked at him closely without speaking for a while. "My childhood here wasn’t exactly the best and they still hold on to that," he explained.

"I don’t care," Kora said reaching her hand to his face. "You are my mate, what they think is none of my concern." Darren leaned into her palm which was on one side of his face.

"Somethings are true though," he said again. "I didn’t start as an alpha but an omega." He said and looked at her closely to see her reaction.
