Chapter 2468: Chapter 2468: Jasmine, I’m Sorry
Kade did not insist further.
Jasmine Yale could tell that his mood was indeed very low.
Kade was actually a very optimistic person, carefree, willing to help others, and he didn’t like to quibble over small things. Even when working overtime, he usually had a good mood.
Jasmine Yale didn’t know what was on his mind.
Unable to have Butler Santana’s sweet and sour fish that night, she handed Little Clementine over to Butler Santana and took a taxi to the previous restaurant.
Along the way, the wind and rain were fierce, and Jasmine Yale deliberately changed into a clean set of clothes.
As night fell, the world was shrouded in a white film. When the wind blew, the white mist drifted everywhere.
Jasmine Yale booked a private room, took off her coat, and sat in the warm room waiting for Kade.
Before seven o’clock, Kade entered from outside, looking travel-worn and in low spirits, with fatigue and tiredness evident at the corners of his eyes.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Jasmine." Kade greeted, taking off his overcoat and hanging it on the rack.
"Not at all, I just arrived as well. The rain is really heavy outside, isn’t it? You should wear more, or you’ll catch a cold."
"It’s okay, I drove, so it’s not too cold. But you, having just had a baby, should really keep warm."
"You really do care about others. How is it possible that someone as great as you is still single?" Jasmine teased.
Kade laughed, "Where’s the time for dating? Every day, I feel like I need 48 hours to get everything done."
"Take a seat, what would you like to drink? I’ll just have some plain water."
"I’d like to order a bottle of red wine, if you don’t mind?"
"Huh?" Jasmine was surprised, "You drove here, so you shouldn’t drink, right? Aren’t you working overtime tonight?"
"I suddenly just feel like drinking, really want to. Don’t worry, I won’t drive after drinking."
Jasmine watched his expression and tone, something seemed off, but she wasn’t hasty. After pondering briefly, she nodded, "Then I’ll order you a bottle of red wine, but don’t drink too much, you’ll get drunk."
"Don’t you have that sobering tea? Just share some with me."
"I don’t carry sobering tea with me, just drink. If you get drunk, it’s no big deal, I’ll drive you back, my driving skills are pretty good."
"Alright then, I thought you’d try to convince me not to drink."
"If I try to convince you not to, you’d just go home and drink anyway. Better I watch you drink here, you’ll drink less."
Kade laughed, knowing that Jasmine was always a smart person, witty and perceptive.
Jasmine ordered the food and conveniently ordered some red wine for Kade.
The food at this restaurant was quite good, and Jasmine also liked it a lot.
The orange lighting cast its glow on the antique-styled table, giving it a gentle luster.
The food was soon served, filling the room with warm, inviting heat.
Kade was much quieter than usual, hardly speaking, and kept his head down as he ate, his brows furrowed.
Jasmine watched him silently for a while and then calmly said, "Working overtime a lot lately?"
"Yeah, I have been, and after the new year, more projects and tasks came in, many of which I’m responsible for."
"So you don’t have to work overtime tonight?"
"Not quite." Kade’s eyes held an unfathomable look, dark as the sea.
Jasmine sipped her plain water.
Whenever she didn’t speak, Kade became very silent, and for quite some time, the private room was in quietude.
After a long pause, Kade took a large gulp of red wine and spoke, "Jasmine, I’m sorry, I’ve done things that hurt you too, I’m sorry."
