Chapter 2447: Chapter 2447: Weathering Some Storms
In the restaurant’s private room, opening the window presents a delightful scene of a flower market lit up as bright as day.
The various lanterns resemble long dragons lined up on both sides of the long street, making Chinatown under the night sky appear as bright as day.
Jasmine Yale stood by the window for a long while.
Her lustrous eyes gazed at the street scene outside, her heart brimming with joy.
There are a thousand goods in the world, why think about the bad things?
Tonight, Little Clementine was particularly well-behaved. As soon as they entered the restaurant, she fell asleep, allowing Jasmine Yale and Butler Santana to enjoy a peaceful Lantern Festival dinner.
Someone on the street was releasing Kongming lanterns. The paper lanterns floated skyward, swaying gently like flowers, carrying blessings one after another.
"Miss Yale, you like watching lanterns and fireworks. After dinner, I can take Little Clementine home first, so you can enjoy a little longer before you leave. You haven’t been out for a long time."
"That would be nice. I’d like to take a stroll down the street."
She wanted to relax.
Recently, she’s been busy to the point of exhaustion, almost unable to breathe, with a constant heavy weight in her chest.
Taking advantage of today’s Lantern Festival, she wanted to take a break.
"Yes, going out more regularly is also good for your health."
"I know."
Since having Little Clementine, she realized that her life now carries an extra responsibility. Even if not for herself, she must endure some hardships for Little Clementine’s sake.
Once a woman becomes a mother, her baby always comes first in her heart.
And the capital to shield the baby from wind and rain is to take good care of herself.
Jasmine Yale really enjoys the light Jiangnan cuisine, and Butler Santana particularly likes it too.
They chatted casually while eating, with Little Clementine sleeping peacefully and quietly in the stroller.
The curtains were drawn, and from Jasmine Yale’s position, she could clearly see the entire street outside filled with lanterns: Hexagonal Palace Lamps, hand-painted paper lamps, lotus lamps... all sorts.
During Lantern Festivals in her childhood, her mother used to buy her lanterns, every year without fail.
As she ate, she drifted off in thought a little.
Not seeing old friends.
Suddenly, Little Clementine started crying.
Jasmine Yale snapped back to reality and hurriedly stood up.
The little one was crying with great vigor, her face flushed red.
"Miss Yale, Little Clementine might be hungry."
Jasmine Yale took the little one out of the stroller and fed her.
The little one was indeed hungry, eating contentedly.
Jasmine Yale held her as she stood by the window watching the lanterns, and she was exuberant, waving her arms and legs, wanting to see more with her bright eyes.
Jasmine Yale pointed to the lanterns outside and chatted with her incessantly. Though Little Clementine couldn’t understand, she loved listening to her talk, neither crying nor fussing.
Jasmine Yale adored her little one this way, such a good baby.
"Miss Yale, are your arms tired? Let me hold her so you can eat a bit more," Butler Santana stood up.
"Thank you." Jasmine Yale passed Little Clementine to Butler Santana.
She was indeed hungry, not having eaten her fill yet.
As she ate, Butler Santana strolled around the private room with Little Clementine in his arms.
"Miss Yale, I’ve almost finished eating. Perhaps I should take Little Clementine home first; she’s still young and shouldn’t stay out too long."
"Alright, help her put on her clothes properly so she doesn’t catch a chill. I’ll stay on the street a little longer; it’s been so long since I last took a breather."
"Sure."
Butler Santana buttoned Little Clementine’s clothes and wrapped her snugly with a small blanket.
The little one was a bit reluctant, squirming incessantly, looking as if she didn’t want to go home.
Butler Santana coaxed her, "Be good and let’s go home; Mommy will be back soon."
