Chapter 2446: Chapter 2446: Bringing Home a Beautiful Little Bride
There’s not much of a festive atmosphere during the New Year abroad. If it weren’t for the "Fu" character and window decals on the windows at home, Jasmine Yale wouldn’t feel like it’s the holiday season.
Often, celebrating the New Year is just a ritual, a ceremony announcing the arrival of the new year.
And such ceremonial things often don’t bring much joy to adults.
Time flies swiftly.
In the blink of an eye, the Lantern Festival arrives.
This is yet another reunion festival, when people gather after dusk, the moon rising above the willow tips.
By the Lantern Festival, Little Clementine had grown quite a bit.
Unable to go out during the New Year, Jasmine Yale plans to take her for a stroll during the Lantern Festival, with Chinatown as her first choice.
She and Tomer take the little one down the bustling streets, having gone out at dusk, just in time to see the various lanterns on the street.
Jasmine Yale buys Little Clementine a rabbit lantern to play with in the stroller.
The rabbit lantern flickers, frightening Little Clementine into tears.
Jasmine Yale laughs, pinching her cheek, "Little one, are you scared?"
She turns off the lantern, only then does Little Clementine obediently stop crying.
Chinatown is adorned freshly, with the lanterns illuminating the entire street as bright as daylight, ablaze with lights.
Little Clementine is full of energy; as soon as she’s out, she doesn’t sleep, keeping active all the time.
Uncles and aunties around often stop to look at the little one.
"Ma’am, your baby is so cute, absolutely beautiful."
"Isn’t she? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a beautiful baby. It’s a little girl, right?"
Jasmine Yale smiles, "Yes, she’s my daughter."
Little Clementine might be shy, pulling her scarf over her face, a naive and innocent move that makes the uncles and aunties laugh joyously.
Jasmine Yale is also particularly happy, squatting down to tuck Little Clementine’s clothes.
Several aunties look on with enthusiasm, some even give Little Clementine the toys they’ve bought.
"Ma’am, you’re so fortunate to have such a pretty daughter. Must be happy every day."
"My grandson is two this year, haha. If only we could arrange a marriage, I’d love to bring this pretty little bride home."
Jasmine Yale is amused by the aunties, "Pretty indeed, but quite temperamental."
"Pretty is capital. With capital, what’s there to fear about a bigger temper? Ma’am, you’re so good-looking, no wonder your daughter is too."
"I have to say, genetics are strong. I guess the Little Princess’s father is handsome too? These big eyes, small mouth, high nose bridge, you can’t find a single flaw."
Jasmine Yale holds Little Clementine’s hand, smiling, "Grandpa and Grandma are complimenting you, do you want to thank them?"
Little Clementine is very happy.
Everyone looks on for a long time before reluctantly leaving, still continuously praising the little girl on their way.
"Little trickster." Jasmine Yale looks at a stroller full of toys and small gifts, "Turns out looking good can be deceiving."
Little Clementine is probably much more promising than her.
They’ve only been out for a short while, yet so many people have given her things.
The little trickster herself is contentedly looking at these things, seeming particularly happy.
Jasmine Yale stares at this little trickster for quite a while, feeling a sense of wonder, indeed quite pretty.
Jasmine Yale continues pushing the stroller and heads with Butler Santana to the Jiangnan cuisine restaurant they had reserved a long time ago. Butler Santana forbids her from eating spicy food, so she has to settle for the mild Jiangnan cuisine, not that she’s picky anyway.
Entering the restaurant, Little Clementine falls asleep in the stroller, her little face like a delicate jade.
