Chapter 2435: Chapter 2435: Sylvan Cheney’s Heart Stirred

He wore a long black coat, merging with the night, even his scarf was dark gray, hidden in the darkness, not particularly noticeable.

At this hour, there was no one moving in the neighborhood, everything was silent, not a sound to be heard.

Jasmine Yale reached out to wipe the foggy window—yes, she wasn’t seeing things, it was him.

Her long eyelashes fluttered, and she quickly shifted her gaze, looking down at Little Clementine in her arms.

Little Clementine stretched her neck to look out, not knowing what she was seeing, her eyes more sparkling than ever.

Jasmine just wanted to move her away when she opened her mouth wide to cry.

Jasmine had no choice but to hold her by the window.

Just then, Sylvan Cheney suddenly turned around, raising his head, looking towards her position.

Her apartment wasn’t high, plus all the surrounding lights were off, making her place stand out particularly.

Sylvan’s heart stirred as he saw her daughter.

Because of the fog, he couldn’t see clearly, but he still saw her daughter clinging to the window, restless in her arms.

The little girl’s features were beautiful, although not fully grown, you could tell she would be a beauty.

Sylvan tilted his head, lips tightly pursed, a cigarette burning between his fingers.

Amidst the swirling smoke, he held his head up, moonlight casting a soft glow on his cold face.

Jasmine didn’t look at him, she lowered her head.

Little Clementine kept climbing the window, desperate to crawl out of Jasmine’s embrace.

Jasmine held her tight: "Little Clementine, be good, it’s time to go back to bed."

However, just as she was about to carry Little Clementine away, the little girl suddenly burst into tears.

"Alright, alright, don’t cry, there’s nothing to see outside." Jasmine was a bit angry, instantly feeling like the girl was an ungrateful little imp.

She was genuinely mad at Little Clementine.

But after a few minutes, she let out a sigh.

What do children understand anyway.

Jasmine brought her back to the window, the little one covered her face, teasing Jasmine.

No matter how big Jasmine’s anger was, it vanished; she laughed, kissing Little Clementine’s hand.

The little one, as exquisite as jade, kept touching the window with her hand.

Unable to push it open, she got anxious, and with anxiety, came the urge to cry.

Sylvan downstairs saw everything clearly; in the light, Jasmine’s silhouette was graceful and long, holding the child with great tenderness.

After finishing a cigarette, Sylvan took another one from his trouser pocket and lit it again.

Smoke blended with the fog, disappearing without a trace.

His forehead was dampened, wetted by the white mist, yet he seemed oblivious, standing under the bare trees.

It was uncertain how much time passed before Jasmine drew the curtains and took Little Clementine back to the room.

Sure enough, the little one started crying, her small face turning red.

"Little Clementine, if you keep crying, Mommy won’t want you!" Jasmine felt as if a stone was weighing on her heart.

The baby didn’t care, crying non-stop.

Jasmine tried feeding her milk, but she wouldn’t drink; she offered her toys, but she didn’t want them.

She truly didn’t know what else to do.

She had no choice but to let her cry, holding her all the while.

Butler Santana heard the crying and came out with a coat: "Miss Yale, is Little Clementine hungry?"

"No, she’s just being fussy."

"Let me hold her, you go rest."

Jasmine shook her head: "I can’t sleep, it’s the same if I hold her."

"You haven’t slept well lately, you should rest more. I can take care of it." Butler Santana reassured her.
