Chapter 2427: Chapter 2427: Quite a Temper, Just Like Her Dad
During the days of New Year’s, the weather was exceptionally good.
Although sometimes there was some wind, the sky was clear, and the sun was shining brightly; there was neither snow nor rain.
The warm weather made everyone feel relaxed and cheerful.
Every day, the warm sunshine streamed through the glass windows onto the floor, with faint traces of dust in the light.
The world seemed peaceful.
Jasmine Yale had a natural childbirth and recovered quickly. With Butler Santana’s great care, she didn’t suffer much after giving birth.
Mrs. Connor was vivacious, often sharing jokes with them, and Jasmine was in great spirits.
Mrs. Kimberley’s husband was even more enthusiastic, and whenever he brought Mrs. Kimberley’s meals, he would also bring some for them on his way.
Jasmine gave the little one a nickname, "Little Clementine." The word "Clementine" implies "blessing," and she hoped the little one would grow up healthy under her protection.
Little Clementine was very well-behaved; apart from crying fiercely the first day, she didn’t cry without reason at other times.
The little one’s eyes were bright and dark, which made Mrs. Connor envious.
"Girls are girls, but why isn’t my daughter as pretty as Little Clementine? I’m so envious." Mrs. Connor held her daughter and moved closer to Jasmine’s bed to look at Little Clementine.
It’s as if Little Clementine sensed the praise, she waved her arms and legs, looking very pleased.
Jasmine laughed, "Mrs. Connor, your daughter is chubby and adorable."
"Little Fatty," Mrs. Connor teased.
Jasmine loved playing with the little one, often pinching her small hands and playing with her.
If she deliberately withdrew her hand, Little Clementine would get upset, and when Jasmine reached out again, Little Clementine wouldn’t take it until Jasmine coaxed her a bit.
Jasmine smiled broadly.
Butler Santana bent forward and laughed, "The little one is so amusing, with quite a temper like her dad."
That remark was unintentional, and Jasmine’s smile faltered.
During these days, no one had mentioned Little Clementine’s dad, and even Mrs. Connor and Mrs. Kimberley, as curious as they were, noticed something was amiss and kept silent.
Butler Santana quickly realized and changed the subject immediately, "Miss Yale, I’ve brought the newly knitted scarf, shall we try it on Little Clementine?"
"Sure..." Jasmine nodded.
The new scarf was pink.
Once Butler Santana draped the scarf around the little one, she began waving her arms and legs in delight, rubbing her little face against the scarf, playing happily.
"Absolutely adorable." Jasmine gently touched the little one’s cheek and laughed, "So adorable that what if someone tries to steal her away?"
The little one was delightfully happy.
Jasmine lowered her head and kissed her cheek; the baby smelled of milk, which was very pleasant.
Jasmine loved the little one too much, never feeling tired, and played joyfully with her.
The room was very lively.
"Miss Yale, have you thought of a name for the baby?"
"Before Little Clementine was born, I thought of several names but didn’t like any. I thought about it again yesterday, and since Little Clementine has such great timing, being born precisely on New Year’s Day, how about naming her Yulia Yale? Sounds good, doesn’t it?"
"Sounds wonderful." Butler Santana’s heart trembled slightly.
For some reason, there was a hint of sadness in the heart.
"Little Clementine, do you like it?" Jasmine gently bent down.
The little one was still playing with her new scarf.
"Alright then, your silence means you like it."
Little Clementine looked at Jasmine with her big, dark eyes, her small mouth pouting.
