Chapter 2413: Chapter 2413: Didn’t See Jasmine Yale’s Husband
Seeing Jasmine Yale had fallen asleep, she finally breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Helping Jasmine Yale tuck in the corners of her blanket, she dared not sleep and kept her company, only daring to take a nap when she got sleepy.
This nap, Butler Santana did not sleep soundly.
Jasmine Yale might have been tired, as she did not wake until dawn.
The room was a three-person room, and besides Jasmine Yale, two other pregnant women lived there.
Jasmine Yale’s bed was by the window, in the innermost part of the room. When she woke up, she lay sideways on the bed, looking out the window.
The floor wasn’t high, and the view included a blue sky, white clouds, and tall buildings. The room had a faint smell of disinfectant, along with various mixed odors.
Perhaps for the sake of convenience in communication, the pregnant women in this room were not foreigners; like Jasmine Yale, they were from the same country.
Their due dates were also within these few days.
In just half a day, Jasmine Yale became familiar with them.
The two pregnant women, one with the surname Connor, and the other Kimberley, were both ordinary white-collar workers at companies.
This was the first child for both, and they were nervous.
"Mrs. Yale, where is your husband?" Mrs. Connor, straightforward, didn’t see Jasmine Yale’s husband after a while and couldn’t help but ask curiously.
"He’s away on a business trip," Jasmine Yale replied casually.
"Oh, a business trip, it’s not easy to hurry back from a business trip," Mrs. Connor nodded. "You should call him more often and urge him. Men are like this; if you don’t urge them, they don’t take things seriously! They have no idea how hard pregnancy is. As women, we should be more assertive. If you’re too soft, who knows how men will bully you."
Butler Santana interjected, "Our Miss Yale’s husband is not like that. He cares for her a lot."
Jasmine Yale didn’t say anything, just smiled awkwardly.
She flipped through a storybook in her hand, silently basking in the sun.
"Mrs. Yale, are you having a boy or a girl?" Mrs. Kimberley, from the middle bed, asked.
"I haven’t checked, I’ll find out after birth. What about you guys?"
"I’m having a boy, and Mrs. Connor’s family is having a girl," Mrs. Kimberley replied with a smile.
"That’s nice." Jasmine Yale smiled warmly.
"Mrs. Yale, what does your husband do? Have you gotten the green card? The UT green card is hard to get, if I can’t get it again this year, I’ll go back to my hometown with my husband," Mrs. Connor sighed while eating an apple.
Where there are many women, there’s constant chatter, lively and busy.
They sat on their respective beds, chit-chatting and gossiping.
Jasmine Yale didn’t mind this atmosphere, just felt a bit unaccustomed.
After all, she wasn’t fond of interacting with strangers.
"Just ordinary work, working at a company," Jasmine Yale replied casually.
"Oh, it seems everyone’s about the same. I’d love to be a full-time wife, but my husband’s salary isn’t enough to support me. Being a full-time wife is so carefree, you can take care of the baby wholeheartedly, but my husband is not ambitious, can’t earn much money, and I’m quite helpless."
"Mrs. Connor, weren’t you saying yesterday that your husband earns a monthly salary of five thousand US Dollars," Mrs. Kimberley said.
"Just five thousand! The cost of living in UT is so high, five thousand is nothing. Buying a bag, a few boxes of milk powder, and it’s gone," Mrs. Connor shrugged.
"My husband only makes two thousand, so we’re even less able to get by."
The two women started arguing again.
Jasmine Yale smiled and lowered her head to flip through her book.
The room became bustling.
Jasmine Yale couldn’t imagine where they got so much energy from. Being close to giving birth, they could still argue for so long.
And she just wanted to sit quietly.
