Chapter 2383: Chapter 2383: They Haven

She hadn’t been drinking, yet under the lights, she felt slightly intoxicated. Perhaps it was his mesmerizing features that ensnared her, making her reluctant to wake.

He lowered his head to look into her eyes.

Her eyes held a hint of panic, her cheeks already flushed red.

Sylvan Cheney’s clothes were disheveled from her pulling, his well-toned physique revealed before her, abs faintly visible.

"Sylvan..." she whispered his name softly, with a tinge of bashfulness, "give me... please..."

She was actively seeking intimacy with him.

Between the sheets, it was rare for her to be so proactive. Since he lost his memory, her initiative was unprecedented.

Yet, she couldn’t comprehend why tonight, the slightly indifferent Sylvan Cheney aroused countless desires within her.

Perhaps only at moments of connection in bed did she feel the utmost sense of security.

Because at that time, he was unequivocally hers.

Sylvan Cheney’s throat moved, his eyes imbued with an intense darkness, akin to the deep night outside the window.

His large hand still pressed against her wrist, as their skin touched, currents surged.

"Go take a shower and sleep early," Sylvan Cheney spoke, "Pregnant women aren’t suited for frequent intimacy, and your body can’t handle it."

He released her wrist.

Jasmine Yale was rejected.

Her face alternated between red and white.

She was unsure what kind of mindset a man had when rejecting a woman in such moments.

Was it just because she was pregnant and couldn’t handle it?

But it had been over ten days since they last did, didn’t he have any physiological desires at all? Especially when she initiated seduction. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

As she opened her mouth to speak, Sylvan Cheney had already turned away and headed to the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of water could be heard from the bathroom, he was running hot water for her and adjusting the temperature.

Jasmine Yale’s eyes were filled with infinite disappointment, her heart harboring an indefinable feeling, which she couldn’t quite articulate. It was like threads entwined tightly around her chest.

After a few minutes, Sylvan Cheney came out to help her bring the nightwear inside.

Jasmine Yale still stood in place, motionless.

"Alright, go take a shower, do you need my help?" Sylvan Cheney asked.

Jasmine Yale shook her head, "I can manage myself today."

Since he was unwilling, she didn’t want to stir his physiological desires, otherwise, he’d feel uncomfortable.

She noticed he had already taken off his vest, his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

"Okay, if you need anything, call me, I’ll be in the living room."

"Alright, you go ahead," Jasmine Yale smiled gently, her body slightly tense, she promptly entered the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of water was heard.

Sylvan Cheney opened the windows to the balcony and smoked a cigarette while she bathed.

Amid the swirling smoke, his stern profile appeared intermittently, eyes deeply concealed, traceless.

After finishing a cigarette, he refrained from continuing, considering Jasmine Yale’s presence.

The window remained open, the cold wind dissipating the smoke on the balcony quickly, leaving no trace of nicotine.

Only then did he close the window and take his notebook to the living room.

Jasmine Yale was washing in the bathroom, silently gazing at the foam in the bathtub.

She raised her hand, her palm filled with bubbly foam, soft and pink.

She didn’t shower for too long, came out of the bathroom, dressed, and walked silently outside.

Passing through the living room, she saw Sylvan Cheney still seated, brows tightly knitted, gaze fixed on the lit computer screen.

"I’m done showering," Jasmine Yale smiled, "I’m heading to bed first, come soon."
