Chapter 2334: Chapter 2334: Treating Her as His Little Princess
Jasmine Yale finally felt a bit hungry.
She nodded.
Sylvan Cheney reheated the meal he bought, watching Jasmine Yale eat.
He waited until she finished eating and went to bed obediently. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief, tucked her in, and closed the doors and windows.
The emotions of a pregnant woman come and go quickly. Although he couldn’t quite grasp them, he could at least manage to comfort her.
He used to find taking care of someone quite troublesome. Now, it seemed rather nice.
At least, he was quite adept at it.
Jasmine Yale wasn’t an unreasonable young girl; she was very obedient.
After leaving the apartment, Sylvan Cheney drove to the company.
Instead of going upstairs right away, he first went to the milk tea shop where Jasmine Yale had spent the morning.
The shop owner was quite friendly. Hearing Sylvan wanted to watch the surveillance footage, he didn’t hesitate and immediately showed it to him, though he wasn’t sure why a CEO would want to see the surveillance.
As Sylvan watched, his brow furrowed deeper and deeper. His eyes were filled with a deep, intense gaze, carrying a fierce, displeased glow.
His face grew increasingly somber, like the sky before a June thunderstorm, ready to unleash heavy rain at any moment.
With a "bang," Sylvan tossed the video back to the owner: "Thanks."
With that, he strode out of the milk tea shop, carrying a chilling air.
The sunlight was bright, but the chilly aura around Sylvan wouldn’t disperse, even casting a layer of frost over his shadow.
He went to the rooftop of the corporate building, stood in front of the wide, bright floor-to-ceiling window, and lit a cigarette.
Smoke enveloped his sharply defined face, with coldness hanging from his brows and displeasure in his eyes.
Halfway through smoking, he clamped the cigarette between his fingers and placed a call to Kade Yuvan.
On the other end, busy preparing for a meeting, Kade was taken aback by Sylvan’s instructions.
"CEO, firing everyone for eating during work hours?!"
"Yes, fire them all!"
"But... if it’s the first offense and not serious, a warning could be issued instead," Kade suggested.
He found the call rather perplexing. Why would the CEO concern himself with such trivial matters, especially for sneaking some food? No chances given?
"Who’s the CEO, me or you?"
"You are, you are," Kade was startled, "I’ll handle it tomorrow."
"Did I say tomorrow? Fire them now, immediately, I don’t want to see them again!"
"Yes, yes, I’ll take care of it right away," Kade was frightened by Sylvan’s forceful tone. It was rare to see the CEO so angry over a minor issue.
Before he could say another word, Sylvan had already hung up.
He adjusted his tie and loosened his shirt collar.
The sunlight streamed through the window onto the wood-patterned floor, illuminating the surroundings brightly. Sylvan’s figure was engulfed in the light.
His face still looked unpleasant.
Ever since he liked Jasmine Yale, he always treated her as his Little Princess.
Someone precious, not tolerating anyone speaking ill of her.
Sylvan was somewhat irritable, smoking alone and standing by the window for a long time.
Today, he had been negligent, allowing such an unpleasant incident to occur.
The words from the surveillance video were full of malice even for him, uncomfortable to hear, let alone for her.
Back when he argued and lost his temper with her, said some harsh words, she endured it.
Had she become used to it already?
Sylvan took a strong drag on his cigarette.
