Chapter 2301: Chapter 2301: Having a Baby Is Truly Something Special

Sylvan Cheney lowered his head, wrapped his arms around her waist, and brushed against her ear: "Do you want to sit on the sofa or the bed? Want to watch TV?"

His warm breath teased her ear, and Jasmine Yale found it hard to resist, biting her lip and gently turning her head away.

From this close distance, Sylvan Cheney could see even the details of Jasmine Yale’s eyelashes clearly.

Her rosy lips, fair neck, and delicate collarbone.

All of it stirred a fire inside him.

"Stop teasing." She pushed him away, "I’ll just sit on the balcony, you go tidy up the place."

His hand rested on her waist, and the warmth of his palm seeped through her clothing, warming her skin, making Jasmine’s heart fluster.

"Okay, I’ll help you tidy up the balcony."

Only then did Sylvan Cheney let her go.

He walked to the balcony, carefully spread a soft blanket over the lounge chair, drew back the curtains to let the sunshine in, but ensured Jasmine’s seat wasn’t too exposed to glaring sunlight.

He handed Jasmine the notebook.

Not until he helped her sit down and covered her with the blanket did he feel at ease.

"Want something to drink?"

"Just plain water is fine."

"Okay." Sylvan Cheney poured her a cup of hot tea instead.

While he was doing all this, Jasmine Yale kept watching him.

A man who works earnestly is attractive, and a man who is both earnest and patient, when gentle, is simply irresistible.

She knew he had sharp claws, could bite, yet she couldn’t help but crave his kindness.

"What are you thinking about?" Sylvan Cheney ruffled her hair.

Sunlight fell on her hair, making her black locks shimmer beautifully.

"I’m thinking... when will such a good man like you be snatched away by someone else."

"As long as I’m not willing, no one can take me away." Sylvan Cheney smiled.

"But men can be so changeable."

"Then let’s see, ten years, twenty years, check if my heart has changed." Sylvan’s face was calm, his steadfast gaze on hers, "Do you have the courage to test it with me?"

"If you’re not afraid, what do I have to fear? I already have a baby."

"So having a baby is impressive?" Sylvan Cheney glared at her.

"Yeah, yeah, having a baby is impressive." Jasmine narrowed her eyes and stuck her tongue out at him, "You don’t have one, na-na-na."

"..." Show-off.

Sylvan Cheney vigorously ruffled her hair, bent down, and bit her earlobe gently: "You, and the little one in your belly, are both mine."

After speaking, he stood up, cast a mischievous glance at her, and walked towards the bedroom.

Jasmine Yale watched his back and touched her belly.

For some reason, she suddenly felt like being cared for by him.

She hadn’t experienced his care yet, especially after becoming pregnant.

And now, the baby is almost due, there might not be another opportunity.

What would it feel like to be looked after by him? Jasmine couldn’t imagine, all she knew was, he’s pretty good at bossing people around.

Unlike the Cheney Residence, there aren’t many servants here to order around.

From the balcony, she could see the whole apartment and outside, the sun spreading across the horizon, she comfortably lounged in the chair.

Sylvan Cheney was tidying up the pile of luggage he hadn’t yet sorted in the apartment.

Sometimes Jasmine would chide him a couple of times: "Don’t hang those clothes directly, they’ll wrinkle!"

"And those two pieces can’t be placed together."

"The clothes that haven’t been washed yet, throw them separately into the washing machine!"

Sometimes she wished she could help him tidy up.

Luckily, Sylvan Cheney usually listened to her and didn’t argue.
