Chapter 207: Ch-207: Invasion (4)
"Damn, Magma Explosion!" Regal, in a panic, dodged an attack from the giant Abomination and launched a small magma fist toward it.
Boom
As soon as the magma fist struck the Abomination, it exploded with a loud boom, and smoke covered his vision.
"Did it do anything?" Regal muttered with a frown on his handsome face. Unlike the other heirs, who couldn’t even damage the Abominations, he had the bloodline with the greatest offensive power, so he launched attack after attack and barely managed to leave a scratch on it. If he were at a higher tier, he would have probably injured it.
As the smoke vanished, the Abomination looked completely fine except for a faint burn mark where the fist had struck. It looked at the little ant that had dared to strike it with barely concealed disdain. Even though the Abominations were consumed by madness, they still retained some individual thoughts.
"Fuck," veins popped on Regal’s forehead as he looked at the almost unharmed undead. This time, he truly felt frustration and a hint of fear toward the Abomination. Previously, he had killed all the undead with barely any effort. Only after this portal appeared had he been forced to expend energy fighting stronger undead, but this Abomination was unlike any other.
"All long-range Awakeners, attack together!" Regal looked back at the Awakeners he had recruited for his guild and shouted as his arm turned into magma.
"Yes!" the Awakeners replied with pale faces as they raised the magical bows they had bought from the game.
The Abomination, seeing this, was about to launch an attack when...
Whoosh
Bang
"How is this possible?!" Regal exclaimed, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets as he saw the Abomination flying through the air and smashing into nearby buildings, which instantly turned into rubble.
Then, the next moment, the sky turned black, and one of his guild members shouted, "Sir Regal, look!"
Hearing the panicked shout, Regal tore his gaze away from the Abomination and looked at the sky. The moment he looked up, his pupils constricted to the size of needles, and his jaw hung open as the black lightning condensed into a giant axe made of black lightning, wrapped in blue flames.
"Black Lightning... this must be the Faceless guy," Regal gritted his teeth and then shouted, "Take cover, quickly!"
As soon as his words fell, the axe descended toward a place where a few Abominations were feeding on human corpses. The Abominations barely managed to turn their heads toward the descending axe, and the next moment...
BOOOOM
The Abominations, which everyone had struggled to even scratch, were completely obliterated by the attack.
"Impossible... how can he be this strong?" Regal spoke through gritted teeth. He had always believed that, given time, his magma bloodline would allow him to surpass Faceless and become the number one player, and that determination had only grown stronger when he realized this was something far more than just a game.
---
"This is bullshit," Andrew said with a disturbed look on his face as he had just witnessed the devastation brought by the top player.
"As expected, he has become stronger," Olivia said with a sigh, then threw Victor, who was hovering in the sky, a complicated look. She had already guessed Victor’s bloodline was the strongest among them all. It did not occur to her that it would be this powerful.
’Also, how did he level up this fast?’ Olivia thought with a bewildered look on her face. It seemed like while they were still in kindergarten, he had already graduated from university.
Victor looked at the undead that had completely disintegrated from his lightning attacks infused with blue flames and gravity manipulation.
"Let’s kill the other Abominations," Victor mumbled as he looked at the lone Abominations that were causing terror across the battlefield.
"Multi Purgatory Lightning Serpents."
"Flame Infusion."
"Gravity Manipulation."
Victor activated one skill after another, and the serpents charged toward the Abominations and struck them directly.
Bang! Bang!
Boom! Boom!
Explosions rang out as the Abominations were blown apart by his Black Lightning Serpents.
"Now that I have caused enough trouble, the true masterminds should enter the fight now," Victor mumbled as his eyes narrowed toward the large portal in the distance. He knew the fighting was not over until he killed the boss inside the portal.
Fanna was currently sitting on a throne made of bones and gold, with her legs crossed together, drinking blood from a glass as she muttered, "I never expected I would get the chance to invade a new world. The Akashic Records are truly filled with mysteries."
"Your Highness, why don’t we directly attack the place with our entire army?" Pluto looked at Fanna and asked in a cautious tone. He could not understand why neither he nor Fanna was joining the fight.
"Hmm, who do you think you are to question me?" Fanna’s eyes narrowed in displeasure as she glared at Pluto, who immediately trembled in fear. He hurriedly looked at her and apologized.
"...I apologize, Your Majesty." Pluto immediately dropped into a dogeza position and begged for mercy. Respect, pride, honor—all of it was worthless before true power.
"Tch..." Fanna clicked her tongue and then said, "I am doing this because I want the living people on the other side to see the size of my army, understand they can’t beat me, and willingly submit to join my undead army."
’Why wait then... just go and destroy the cities. It would be much faster,’ Pluto complained inwardly upon hearing her foolish idea, but he did not dare voice his thoughts.
"The Abominations are more than enough to conquer this place—huh?" Just as Fanna was smiling smugly, her smile froze, and a frown appeared on her face when she felt one of her Abominations getting injured. The next moment, her expression completely changed when she felt the presence of multiple undead Abominations vanish.
"How is this possible? Even normal Tier 3 Warlocks wouldn’t be able to defeat the Abominations easily, and when I scanned this world before, not a single Tier 2 was even present, let alone a Tier 3," Fanna mumbled as she looked puzzled.
"Is something wrong, Your Highness?" Pluto asked cautiously, seeing the look of confusion and anger on her face.
"Yes, I just felt the presence of multiple undead vanish," Fanna replied with a frown on her undead face.
"What! Impossible..." Pluto immediately exclaimed because, in his eyes, an Abomination dying was absolutely impossible. Even he, as a Tier 4, would be in trouble if he were besieged by multiple Abominations, whose threat level increased significantly when they fought together.
"You wanted to act, right?" Fanna said as she narrowed her eyes at him and spoke coldly. "Go, take part of the army and deal with the pests."
Fanna’s eyes grew even colder as she soon felt all of the undead Abominations perish.
"It shall be done." Pluto immediately bowed, took a large number of undead with him, and stepped out of the portal.
Soon, Pluto strode outside the dungeon, his grotesque face twisting in disgust. "Such a place... and such poor-quality mana. Even the peasants back in my homeland enjoy better-quality mana than this."
---
"Ice Age."
"Fireball."
Victor and Amber launched their attacks and started slaughtering all the undead that came near them, which caught the attention of Ruby and Valerie, who watched them with shocked expressions.
"Who are they?" Valerie asked in a low voice, but Ruby heard her.
"Oh, I know them. They must be the Awakeners who caught my family’s attention," Ruby suddenly exclaimed.
"Really?" Valerie asked with a raised eyebrow. Anyone capable of catching the eye of the top families was extraordinary, and she could see why both of them had attracted Ruby’s family’s attention.
"You didn’t recruit them, did you?" Valerie asked, and Ruby shook her head.
"No, we couldn’t find a way to contact them."
"Heh, good. I’ll try to recruit them. You don’t mind, do you?" Valerie said with a raised eyebrow.
"No, but I don’t think people like them would join a family," Ruby said calmly.
"We won’t know if we don’t try," Valerie said. If she could get their support, there was a chance she could use them to break free from Julian. Even though she thought the same as Ruby, she still had to try.
Just as she was about to take a step forward, she felt a sudden crushing pressure, and the next moment, she fainted on the spot.
Thud
Not only her, but all the Awakeners and ordinary people—except Victor and Amber—fainted.
"A Tier 4." Victor raised an eyebrow as he felt a Tier 4 exit the portal. It did not restrain its aura but unleashed it in full force, making everyone else unable to withstand the pressure and causing them to faint.
"This aura... it’s the same aura as Father, but stronger," Amber said through gritted teeth, her heart pounding as she shot into the skies.
"What!" Victor exclaimed in shock and hurriedly followed her.
