Chapter 158: Ch-158: Soldiers of Darkness
Vicor watched as Lilith sank into her shadow and emerged from the darkness. The next moment, vines made of darkness erupted from the shadows of the spider monsters and tangled them.
Screech
The spider soldiers screeched as hundreds of them were ensnared by the black vines.
"Holy..." Vicor was speechless seeing Lilith’s bloodline ability. Even though these were only Tier 0 monsters, it had to be noted that Lilith herself was only Tier 0 and had just leveled up.
"Haha, Miss Lilith is going to kill you!" Lilith’s voice echoed through the forest, and even Victor would have felt a chill run down his spine if he heard such a creepy voice out of nowhere and didn’t know it was Lilith.
Even the monsters were feeling dread as their instincts screamed danger, but they could not find the culprit and instead felt themselves sinking into their own shadows.
Within a few minutes, all the Tier 0 monsters had sunk into the shadows and vanished from his sight.
The next moment, notifications started flashing rapidly across his retina.

"Oh, Soul Fragments. Is this a new item drop triggered thanks to my new bloodline?" Vicor rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"I should go and check how Lilith is doing," Victor muttered as he also sank into his own shadow and vanished.
The next moment, he felt as though he had entered an entirely different world. The entire place was pitch-black, with glowing lines engraved across the ground and sky, serving as the only source of light.
BOOOM
"Haha, spiders, die for Miss Lilith!"
Victor’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he saw that Lilith had somehow conjured a giant warhammer nearly sixty feet tall and was playing whack-a-mole with the spiders. It was bizarre seeing such a tiny creature wielding such an enormous hammer.
What shocked him even more was the cat’s crazed and bloodthirsty expression as she watched the soldiers frantically trying to dodge her attacks.
"Sir Victor!"
Lilith’s movements abruptly halted, and her body stiffened when she saw him. She hurriedly dismissed the warhammer and created some shadow giants to kill the spiders while she looked at Victor with an innocent expression.
"Sir Victor, look! Miss Lilith created helpers to kill them. Miss Lilith does not dare engage them like a brute and get herself dirty. Did Miss Lilith do a good job?" Lilith lazily walked toward Victor and asked.
"Hehehe... yes, Miss Lilith did a good job." Victor’s lips twitched as he forced out a laugh and began to see the cat in a completely different light.
This cat was a complete sadist.
"Exactly! How could Miss Lilith ever do a bad job?" Lilith replied smugly.
Victor then opened his status window.

"Yes," Victor confirmed without hesitation.
As soon as Victor’s words fell, the shadow in front of him began to writhe. Thick black smoke emerged from the ground, while a golden glow enveloped it. The black smoke gradually solidified and began taking shape.

A creature similar to a wolf, made entirely of darkness with glowing golden lines engraved across its body, knelt in front of Victor as it awaited his orders.
"So, this is what a Berserker looks like. I thought it would resemble a knight..." he murmured, analyzing the creature.
He felt connected to it, and the system beeped again, informing him that he now had one shadow soldier.

"Woah, Sir Victor, what is this?" Lilith’s eyes widened when she saw the shadow wolf. Compared to her lifeless shadow constructs, this one seemed to possess consciousness.
"This is my sixth bloodline, which allows me to create darkness soldiers from souls," Victor said.
Lilith’s eyes sparkled.
"Woah! Sir Victor has so many bloodlines. He is awesome!" Lilith exclaimed, and for some reason, Victor felt smug.
"Moreover, Lilith, now that you have evolved, you will serve as the commander of the army," Victor informed her.
"Woah, really? Then everyone will call me Miss Commander Lilith!" Lilith said excitedly.
Then her ears drooped as she looked at Victor in displeasure.
"What happened? Not happy?" Victor asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Sir Victor, why couldn’t you create cat soldiers?" Lilith asked.
Victor was speechless. Now that he thought about it, cat soldiers or cat-like creatures would indeed suit her better.
Bang
"Ouch! Why did you hit Miss Commander Lilith?" Lilith stared at Victor with eyes full of grievance.
"Don’t talk too much. Be grateful for what you have, and quickly kill the rest," Victor said in an annoyed tone.
Lilith snorted and resumed slaughtering the monsters.

"Yes," Victor said.
Ninety-eight more identical soldiers made of darkness appeared in front of him and knelt before him.
"Not bad. A small portable army I can summon anytime." Victor nodded his head in satisfaction.
"Do you speak?" Victor asked.
"..."
The soldiers shook their heads in unison.
"I see... Stay here for now. I will call you later," he commanded.
Then he looked at Lilith.
"Lilith, let’s leave."
"Sir, Miss Lilith wants to stay here for some time," Lilith said, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the soldiers.
Victor narrowed his eyes and asked, "Why?"
"Miss Lilith is the commander, right? So she wants to get to know the army and practice commanding them," Lilith said innocently.
More like you want to play with them, Victor grumbled inwardly, but he nodded.
"Fine."
"She is the commander," Victor said.
The shadows nodded their heads and turned to look at Lilith as Victor left the dimension.
