Chapter 151: Ch-151: Assault

"Is this the place?"

Darius, along with his fellow assassins, drove toward the upscale neighborhood in an SUV instead of a van to avoid suspicion and stopped in front of the mansion that Victor had purchased recently form the bank.

"Yes. From the records I have retrieved, our target, Victor Vanglory, bought this house after getting the money direclty form Bank of America"

Another assassin, who was typing on a laptop, replied.

"Tsk, rich people sure are extravagant."

Darius said while clicking his tongue and feeling a bit envious of luxurious house in front of them. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Even though he himself was a billionaire from killing so many high-profile targets, he could never spend his wealth freely, as it was all black money, and he could not buy a property of his own because he was constantly on the move. If he bought a property, the authorities would learn of his location directly dispatch the national military, that’s how pissed of the governments of various country were at him.

"Anyway, let’s go."

Darius said as all of them equipped items from the game and even carried some guns and weapons Victor had sold in the players’ market. They put on their masks and walked stealthily toward the mansion.

"Tsk, bought such an expensive house and has no guards. These rich people are always arrogant, thinking no one would dare harm them."

One of the assassins said with contempt as he failed to spot any guards patrolling the area, and there was no other security as well.

Darius, on the other hand, frowned as he felt something was off about the situation, but even when he used a technique to detect nearby presences, he found nothing.

Unbeknownst to the assassins, the soldiers from the Silvernum Territory hiding in the shadows were watching them with amused expressions.

"Tsk, who are these bold weaklings? Are they assassins? They are pitifully weak."

One of the guards said with a chuckle.

"Yeah, should we deal with them? We shouldn’t let them disturb Lady Amber and Lord Victor."

Another soldier chimed in.

"Wait, I just got a message. Lord Victor knows about them and told us not to stop them."

Another guard, who was probably the squad leader, said.

Darius and the other assassins, unaware that they had fallen into a trap, walked toward the large gate of the mansion, which was locked.

"Captain, should I blow the door up?"

One of the assassins asked Darius.

"No, idiot. I sense two presences; they must be our targets. If we alert them, they will either run away or fight us, which might cause the mission to fail if they alert the neighborhood. Do it the old-fashioned way."

Darius glared at the lackey who had asked such a dumb question.

One of the assassins walked to the door with a lock-picking kit and started breaking into the mansion without making any noise.

Click.

Once they unlocked the door, they silently made their way inside and began looking around.

"Be careful."

Darius said in a low voice, and the others nodded.

After entering, they started checking every room one by one and finally found them in the last room.

Inside the room, they could see two people lying on their bed, hugging each other and fast asleep.

Seeing this, they approached them to get a closer look at their faces.

Once they confirmed that they were the targets, Darius smirked.

"Don’t get distracted, bastards. Quickly kill them."

Darius frowned when he saw many of his subordinates drooling over Amber. Some of them had even pitched tents in their pants and were about to touch her breasts.

They immediately stopped when they felt a wave of killing intent from Darius.

The one thing he didn’t notice was that Amber’s eyelids had twitched, though it vanished as quickly as it appeared.

It was at this moment that Assassin Darius retrieved a dagger from his pocket and thrust it toward Victor’s chest, aiming straight for his heart.

The others also stabbed at Amber and Victor with their daggers.

"DIE!"

Assassin Darius shouted when the tip of the blade reached Victor’s chest.

However, almost as though he had struck steel, the blade halted right on top of Victor’s clothes.

Snap.

"Impossible!"

Darius’s eyes constricted when he saw that the dagger had snapped the moment it touched Victor.

The same thing happened with Amber.

Victor slowly opened his eyes and spoke in a calm voice, his gaze completely tranquil.

"Idiots, do you think you can kill us with ordinary daggers? Even magical ones would have trouble penetrating my skin."

’Shit!’

Assassin Darius had no idea what had just happened and couldn’t comprehend why his dagger couldn’t penetrate Victor’s skin.

However, one thing was clear to him—his target was still alive.

He had no time to think, as Victor had already woken up.

He looked to the side and saw Amber staring at them coldly. The ones who had harbored lecherous intentions toward her were already frozen solid into ice sculptures.

Assassin Darius suddenly released his magical power, filling the room with the aura of a powerful Awakened, but Victor merely looked at him with amusement.

He then lifted his dagger into the air and plunged it down for a second time.

However, just like before, his dagger was stopped by Victor’s skin and shattered.

"I don’t think you’ll be able to kill me. Do you want me to go back to sleep so it would be easier for you?"

Victor remarked in a sarcastic tone.

"H-How...?!"

Assassin Darius stared at Victor in utter disbelief.

It was at this moment that Assassin Darius and the others heard the sound of footsteps rushing toward their location.

"Damn it! Abort the mission! Quickly escape! They have hidden guards here!"

Darius broke out in a cold sweat and was about to leave the hall, but his face turned pale when he saw that they were surrounded by hundreds of guards in front of them, with Victor and Amber standing behind them.
