Chapter 149: Ch-149: Family Reactions
"Who are they?" Regal said with a frown, as he also felt a bit threatened by the pair.
"Father, should we try to recruit them or eliminate them?" Regal asked with a cold look on his face. Even though he was confident he could defeat them later, if possible, he would rather nip the problem in the bud.
"No need. Let’s let someone else attack them first," Ryan said as he shook his head.
"You mean..." Regal frowned as he understood his father’s meaning.
"The two Awakeners whom they beat up. I checked their families; they are quite powerful, but compared to ours, they are trash. However, knowing the arrogance of these petty families, they are definitely going to send assassins. We can let them test the waters first."
"We can see whether they have any powerful subordinates. If they do, that means they will likely form their own guilds and become our rivals in the future."
Ryan said as he stroked his chin thoughtfully.
"They are strong, and both seem to be a couple," Ryan continued.
Then he added, "If they truly are a couple, two such Warlocks would be troublesome to deal with. First, let’s see whether they are stronger than us. If they are not too strong, we can eliminate them in the future."
"I understand," Regal said with a nod as his brain started to think of various plots.

"Our children have always been smart, and even after the game started influencing the world, they have continued to thrive in it. Maybe not as much as the heirs of those top families, but still better than most."
A beautiful middle-aged woman said with a smile while looking at the other woman,as they were sipping orange juice.
"Indeed. My son Ethan and Kevin are truly bright stars... sigh, if only they didn’t create trouble everywhere and force us to clean up after them."
The other woman, who was Ethan’s mother, said with a sigh, while Kevin’s mother grimaced as they both knew about the antics of their sons.
BANG!
Suddenly, the door was violently thrown open.
Both women furrowed their brows when they saw several guards rush into the room.
"Insolent! Who gave you permission to barge in like this?"
Kevin’s mother said with a frown, barely containing her anger.
"Miss, you have to see this... something happened to the young masters..."
The guard said nervously.
Both women’s eyes widened as they jumped to their feet.
"What happened?!"
"You should come downstairs to the guest room and see for yourselves."
The guard replied hastily.
The women looked at each other and, without hesitation, rushed downstairs.
"Kevin!"
"Ethan!"
Both women rushed inside the room and saw their sons being tended to by healers.
Beside them stood Kevin’s and Ethan’s fathers, who had also rushed home after hearing about their sons.
Kevin’s mother quickly entered the room, accompanied by Ethan’s mother as soon as she heard about the incident, her expression filled with worry.
Inside, two beds were occupied by Kevin and Ethan, and the first rays of the sun were just beginning to shine through the window.
"God!"
Kevin’s mother exclaimed in alarm upon seeing the state of her son.
"Tell me! What happened to them?!"
She practically shouted at the guard standing beside her, who only sighed.
"They got injured while fighting in the entrance exam."
Ethan’s father sighed as he spoke and then continued,
"The medical team from the Imperial University sent them back to us after stabilizing their condition. They said the limbs will regrow, but it will take months, if not a year. They don’t have high-quality healing potions available at the moment."
Kevin’s mother continued to stare in shock at their current state in the beds.
Her gaze then shifted to Ethan’s mother, who was already crying beside her son.
"Other than their limbs being severed, their private parts have also been destroyed. Not only that, there are numerous minor and major injuries. He has suffered multiple fractures throughout his body, including an exposed fracture in his left arm and several broken ribs, which are concerning because of the internal organs that might have been affected. He also has fractures on his face, including his jaw and orbital socket, which will require immediate magical reconstruction to prevent permanent complications. He also has extensive bruising and lacerations, indicating that the attack was both brutal and prolonged."
The doctor explained.
"WHO DARES?!"
Ethan’s mother shouted.
"Tell me, who did this, and why didn’t they stop him?!"
She asked her husband.
Kevin’s father looked at his wife and said in a calm voice,
"This was to be expected. The entrance exam is brutal, and there are many cases of limbs being severed."
"What?! So you’re telling me you won’t avenge your son?!"
Kevin’s mother said with bloodshot eyes.
Even Ethan’s mother looked at her own husband.
Both Ethan and Kevin were not only best friends but also biological cousins, as their fathers were blood brothers.
"We never said that, sister-in-law."
Ethan’s father replied calmly and then continued,
"But we have to confirm who did it first."
"We have already sent someone to retrieve the footage of their fights. We will investigate quickly."
The guard beside them chimed in.
Kevin’s mother then glared at the guard and screamed,
"Then hurry up and investigate him! I want to know everything about him! His family, his friends—everything!"
"Just you wait... I will show you what happens when you offend me and harm my son! I am going to crush you and your insignificant life!"
The servants quickly went to work after hearing the lady’s words.
Despite knowing that she was being unreasonable, they could not defy her orders, and they were already accustomed to such behavior.
Kevin’s father rubbed his temples as he looked at his wife.
He looked at the doctor and said " Wake them temporarily, let’s hear from their own mouths who beat them up so bad, I want to know who has such enemity with them"
