Chapter 148: Ch-148: Headmaster Lance Bloodline and Reaction
"Number 32... Three votes, pass."
"Number 78... No votes, fail."
"Number 91... Two votes, fail."
"Number 116... Pass."
"Number 141... Fail."
"Heh, I guess that’s all I’m worth."
Number 141 muttered as he walked past Victor.
"Number 47, step forward."
"My turn."
Amber said as she boldly walked toward the judging panel, her movements radiating seduction, which caused many of the males to gulp a mouthful of saliva.
As soon as she stepped forward, a large number of hands shot up.
GASP!!
"What?!"
"A-All the judges raised their hands!"
Various murmurs erupted throughout the crowd.
"Number 99, step forward."
Victor took a deep breath and stepped forward.
Again, without any surprise, all the judges raised their hands.
Silence
"As expected, he also got all the votes."
"Of course. Did you doubt it for a second?"
"I still think the woman was stronger."
"Heh, I think the male candidate is stronger. Did you see his insane speed and defense? Not to mention his Warlock bloodline."
Lance walked toward Victor and handed him a golden badge.
"Young man, you are probably the strongest student here and possess the highest potential. I hope you will continue to bring us more surprises. This is your ID card."
Lance said as he shook Victor’s hand.
Victor smiled and replied, "Thank you."
Victor was a bit excited to meet Lance.
He had been one of the strongest Warlocks in Victor’s past life, and he was the reason the top families didn’t dare meddle with the Academy.
Victor used his pupil technique, and all the details appeared on his retina.
[Name: Lance]
[Level: 50]
[Tier: 0]
[Warlock Bloodline: Time Disruption]
Time Disruption was an inferior version of time manipulation, but it was more than enough to dominate weaker players and become one of the strongest Warlocks on Earth.
In fact, due to this bloodline and his support of the Academy, no one dared harm any students, even if they offended someone from a top family.
What made him terrifying in the future was that he could trap his enemies in time loops or kill them by rapidly aging them.
There was virtually no defense against it other than possessing a time-related bloodline or artifact.
After everyone had been judged, Lance stood up and said with a smile,
"First of all, congratulations to all of you who have passed."
Everyone who remained had passed, and they immediately broke out into cheers.
"Some of you may have noticed that a few among you have golden ID cards. This means you have been selected for the Elite Class and will receive more resources and additional benefits."
Lance’s words caused many to look dejected, while a select few became visibly excited.
He continued,
"Of course, as elites, they must prove their worth and continue growing stronger. Furthermore, non-elite students may challenge them at any time to replace them in the Elite Class."
Hearing this, many of the previously dejected faces brightened.
Victor, however, sneered inwardly.
"As if they could beat the elites."
He remembered that in the past, even though he had not attended the Academy, no non-elite student had ever managed to defeat an elite.
The elites had powerful backers, sponsorships, the Academy’s best resources, and exceptional talent of their own.
---
After joining the World Awakeners Academy, they went back to their mansion and were surprised to see the number of concealed guards around the house, while the visible ones had suppressed their auras and were patrolling around the perimeter.
"Halt, who are you?"
One of the guards narrowed his eyes as he saw an unknown man and woman approaching the gate.
Victor and Amber were in disguise, so they did not recognize them.
Victor deactivated the Mask of Loki, as did Amber.
The guards’ eyes widened, and they immediately saluted them.
"Lord Victor, Lady Amber, welcome back."
The guards greeted them respectfully.
"Edward sure is fast. How many of you have been stationed here?" Victor asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Lord Victor, Butler Edward has assigned 100 Tier 1 Knights, 100 Tier 1 Guards, and 10 Tier 2 Knights."
The soldier immediately replied.
"I see."
Victor mumbled as he nodded his head and went inside the mansion.
While Victor and Amber had returned home, the news about the two powerful Warlocks had already spread online, and the powerful factions and families had also received the news.

Angel Wing Guild
Olivia, Andrew, and Rachel were currently sitting silently, staring at the TV, which was playing footage of Amber’s and Victor’s fights against Ethan and Kevin.
They all wore solemn expressions.
"Why are they not on the rankings? They’re incredibly strong. I think they can rival Faceless," Andrew said with a frown.
"Maybe they wanted to stay low-key. I am sure there are many strong players who can rival the top families but choose not to enter their names on the rankings to conceal their strength. They most likely are assassins or belong to a dark organization," Olivia said in a calm tone.
"Hmm, that could be the case."
Rachel said with a frown.
She personally knew a lot of players in her family who had been ordered not to display their names on the rankings so they could be used as a hidden force for the family.
"Olivia, that Black Ice... do you think it’s stronger than your own Ice Bloodline?"
Andrew asked curiously as he looked at Olivia.
"Hah, how can that be? Her ice is obviously—"
Rachel, who was about to retort, was rendered speechless by Olivia’s next words.
"Without a doubt, the Black Ice is more formidable, and my instincts are telling me that the girl, Amber Goldburn, is holding back."
Olivia spoke in a neutral voice.
"What?!"
Rachel exclaimed, and even Andrew’s eyes widened in surprise.
He had only asked because he had his suspicions, but he did not expect Olivia to admit being weaker without hesitation.
"Goldburn and Vanglory... are they from some kind of powerful family or something?" Rachel asked.
"Nope. From the reports, there are no prominent families with those surnames. It looks like they are grassroots Awakeners."
Andrew replied.
"Hmm, then why don’t we invite them to join our guild?" Rachel chimed in.
"I don’t think they will join. If my suspicions about their strength are correct, they might form their own guild."
Olivia said as she looked away from the large TV and toward them.
