Chapter 139: Ch-139: Amber in Earth and World Magic Trade Center
Amber looked up at Victor strangely. He was standing on the bed and seemed to be shaking with shock and excitement.
"Hey, Victor, are you okay?" Amber asked again, this time with a frown and worry in her voice.
"Hmm?" Victor snapped out of his excitement and shock and looked at Amber, who was staring at him.
"It’s fine..." Victor said, then paused. His eyes twinkled with mischief as he looked at Amber and smirked. "Amber, do you want to visit a brand-new place?"
"A new place? Do you mean sneaking into a foreign kingdom?" Amber tilted her head, and her eyes gleamed with curiosity.
"No... a new world," Victor said with a smirk and started telling her a half-truth.
A few minutes later...
Amber’s jaw dropped to the floor, and her eyeballs nearly popped out of their sockets as Victor finished narrating his story.
"Are you for real?" Amber looked at Victor in disbelief. She had just learned that Victor could visit a different world and had been doing so for years. He had even created a separate identity for himself there. She was ecstatic at the thought of visiting it and gave him a bright smile. "Master, let’s go. I want to see it."
"Sure, give me your hand," Victor said.
Amber hurriedly put on her dress, and then he took her hand. Both of them vanished from their spot.

Earth, United States
Woosh
Amber and Victor appeared directly inside Victor’s old run-down house.
Victor looked at Amber, who was glancing around his room with a frown, and thought as his heart skipped a beat, ’It actually worked.’
"You really lived here? Couldn’t you buy a better house? Even if the currency is different, it’s not like they wouldn’t accept gold," Amber asked as she looked around the room with disgust on her face.
’Damn, is it my fault I was poor?’
Victor’s eyebrows twitched, and he felt invisible arrows piercing his heart.
"Well, I don’t come here often, so I never thought about buying a better place," Victor lied without changing his expression, and Amber nodded her head.
"Makes sense. I can’t believe Master was staying in such a filthy place," Amber said, then her eyes lit up. "Let’s go buy a house first."
"Fine..." Victor thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. He was going to join the academy and even create his own guild.
"Do you have a disguise?" Victor asked.
Amber nodded as she pulled out a skin mask and put it on her face. Her appearance immediately changed.
"How do I look?" Amber asked as she looked at Victor.
Victor smiled and said, "Like a completely different person."
--------
Standing in the doorway of Victor’s house, Amber stared in shock at the dazzling cityscape before her.
In her previous understanding, the Royal City had been the largest and most prosperous city in the world. Yet compared to this forest of skyscrapers, the Royal City seemed no bigger than a provincial town.
She—someone who had always thought of herself as a refined city dweller—now felt like a clueless country bumpkin stepping into an unknown world.
"This... this place..."
The overwhelming disparity between her expectations and reality left her momentarily speechless.
After the world had undergone evolution in the game world, there were hardly any skyscrapers, and even when there were, they were extremely rare because castles built and reinforced by magic were much sturdier and safer. Of course, that was only on a planetary level. Beyond the planet, in the galactic memories, there were futuristic buildings even larger than skyscrapers, like the ones Victor had asked Lilith to construct.
Victor took Amber’s hand and led her to a large building with a huge signboard labeled ’World Magic Trade Center’.
This was the number one place to buy and sell magic items from the games. It had been created by the United Nations, and every country had one to monitor rare items that Awakeners put up for sale. Powerful organizations could keep track of such items and purchase them.
As soon as they entered the building, they were greeted by the sight of a completely premium high-tech hall where hundreds of Awakeners were buying and selling their items.
Amber looked around curiously and asked, "What are you going to sell?"
"Probably a few weapons and beast cores," Victor replied without hesitation. He did not intend to sell any rare items, as that might draw suspicion. He could sell normal items in bulk and earn the same amount of money as he would from a rare item.
Victor walked toward the counter and said, "I would like to sell some items."
"Certainly. There are two options. First, we can buy them directly from you at a premium price after an appraiser checks the items. Alternatively, you can put them up for auction, and we’ll take a small percentage," a female clerk said with a professional smile.
"No need. I’ll sell them directly to you... hmm, do you have a private room? I have quite a few items I would like to sell," Victor said with a smile.
"Of course." The clerk raised an eyebrow and led Victor and Amber to a VIP room. She bowed and said, "I will call the appraisers."
"All right. Here are all the treasures I’m trying to sell."
Victor proceeded to dump all of the low-ranked treasures onto the floor. In both his and Amber’s eyes, they were trash and completely useless, but that was not the case for everyone else.
The clerk stared at the large pile of treasures on the floor with wide eyes.
There were so many treasures that the table couldn’t hold them all, forcing them to be piled on the floor.
"Th-This is a lot more than what I had in mind..." she muttered in a dazed voice.
The amount of treasure before her eyes was more than any normal Awakener could possibly possess. She felt that only a large organization could afford to own so many treasures.
’How on earth did he acquire so much treasure? It’s almost as though he’d robbed a guild...’
The clerk thought in disbelief.
"Mister..."
"You can call me Mr. Vanglory... and this is my girlfriend, Amber Goldburn," Victor said while Amber blushed a little.
"I see, Mr. Vanglory. May I ask how you acquired so many treasures?" the clerk asked after taking a deep breath.
"Sure. I completed a few missions from NPCs and robbed some players who wanted to kill me," Victor said casually, while the clerk swallowed hard.
After a moment of silence, she spoke again.
"Mr. Vanglory, Miss Goldburn, this amount of treasure is too much for me to appraise by myself. If you don’t mind, may I get some assistance?"
"Sure, I don’t mind," Victor said casually.
"Thank you! I will contact him right away!"
Amber watched as the clerk left and commented, "The people of this world are really weak, and the mana density is so low. Even in such an important place, there are no magical defenses."
"You can’t blame them. The world has only recently evolved," Victor said with a shrug, which caused Amber to pout in dissatisfaction.
Sometime later, the clerk and a middle-aged man showed up.
"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Vanglory, Miss Goldburn. I am the official appraiser of this branch," the man greeted them with a bright smile.
"Hello. These are all the treasures we want to sell," Victor pointed out.
The man gulped a mouthful of saliva as he sensed the mana emanating from them.
’I thought she was exaggerating when she called it a "pile" of treasures... and what the hell, there are even a couple of Uncommon-ranked daggers!’The appraiser cried inwardly.
Superior-ranked items were the rarest at the moment, monopolized by the top families and the government, while Uncommon-ranked items were the second most sought-after treasures.
"Let’s get to work, shall we?" the appraiser said.
Thus, the man started examining the treasures one by one.
About an hour later, the appraiser wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed nervously.
"We can offer $4 billion for all the treasures."
’Holy shit.’
Victor cried out inwardly but kept a neutral expression. He had not expected such an outrageous amount.
Victor’s heart skipped a beat when he heard the staggering price. The inflated value was due to the scarcity of items at the moment, but he knew that in a few months, when more and more players started selling rare items on the market, the prices would naturally fall. At most, he estimated he would only be able to get around $30–50 million for the same treasures.
"Sure," Victor nodded calmly.
The clerk’s and appraiser’s eyes lit up as they thought about the commission they would receive.
"Fine. Give me your bank details, and we will transfer the money."
Victor nodded and handed over the details as he watched them leave the room with the treasures.
"Let’s go buy a house now," Amber said impatiently.
Victor glanced at her and said, "Wait until the money hits my account."
"Before we go and buy a house, let’s first deal with your identity. You don’t have any valid identification."
Victor said to Amber, who raised an eyebrow.
"I assume there is a black market here where such shady things are handled?" Amber asked with a smirk. Even in the Kingdom of Eindrik, identity forgery was quite common.
"Yes, and I know the exact place," Victor said to Amber.
Then his phone rang.
