Chapter 138: Ch-138: Shocked Victor
Tring Tring Tring
"Huh?" Victor frowned when he saw constant notifications from the in-game player forum. He was curious as to what had happened that there would be so many notifications. ’I wonder what happened.’
Victor mumbled as he opened the forums. This was the first time he had seen so many notifications, and when he opened the forum, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he saw a trending headline.
[Dungeons In Real Life!]
[Monsters from the Game Invading Earth]
"What the hell?" Victor exclaimed and opened a video. His eyes widened in shock as a news host reported the situation.
"We are currently in Ohio, where a huge red wormhole has appeared. People around the world are calling these wormholes portals."
"According to our sources, these portals were much smaller when they first appeared during the game’s update, and the government concealed the news to prevent mass panic."
"Today, as everyone has witnessed, the Akashic Records, which monitor the game and provide players and NPCs with their status windows, have somehow reached the real world. We initially believed it was a mysterious AI created by the elusive creator of the game, but now it seems our assumption was wrong. Experts theorize that the game world may be an entirely different planet—or even a different universe—that we access through the game."
The news hostess spoke, and viewers watching from home began to feel uneasy about the situation.
’I didn’t expect this event to happen this early... though perhaps I should have. The world is also undergoing evolution much earlier than I remember.’ Victor thought with a frown as the news hostess continued.
"Today, we have invited General Watson, who has an announcement to make to the public and will also share his insights with the audience," the hostess said as she introduced him.
"Thank you for having me," the general replied with a calm expression.
"Can you tell our viewers what the announcement is about?" the hostess asked curiously.
"Indeed. A new bill has recently been passed by governments around the world due to the recent activation of the dungeons. A new law has been enacted for the benefit of guilds. As everyone has already guessed, dungeons contain resources that will be vital for Awakeners. Therefore, the government has decided that guilds can privately own dungeons they purchase or discover," the general said in a solemn tone.
The hostess and even the audience watching were shocked by his words, and then a wave of excitement swept across the viewers.
"So it has started, huh?" Victor mumbled as he leaned back.
This was one of the major events that changed the entire world.
Just like in his past life, everyone was shocked when governments allowed dungeons to be privately owned by guilds. This was also one of the reasons why guilds exploded in number and popularity. Much like the rise of the internet era, countless people opened their own guilds.
Everyone had assumed the government would maintain strict control over the dungeons, and they tried to do so at first. However, they later realized it was impossible to manage them alone due to pressure from top families and powerful Awakeners who wanted to monopolize the resources.
He then opened the global chat group
---------
Gamergod78: Holy, holy, this is really happening, isn’t it? I never expected that, like in those fantasy novels, dungeons would appear and monsters from the game would invade the real world.
NoobMaster69: Yeah, I was speechless. One just appeared in my neighborhood. When some researchers arrived and established a research base, claiming they were conducting a project to monitor air pollution, I had my doubts. Since when do governments care about that kind of stuff?
PrettySophie55: Yeah, I watched with my own eyes how a monster was about to attack a couple, and an Awakener stepped up and killed it, becoming a hero. I think the era of Awakeners and guilds is on the horizon. Everyone, we are witnessing history.
RichGamer718: Everyone, my lawyers have already started drafting the legal documents to form my own guild, ’Gravity Falls Guild.’ I am spending $300 million to buy a very spacious and luxurious building for the guild headquarters. I hope you all join my guild. I offer a hefty salary, and you can also keep a percentage of the loot.
TrueGamer777: Tsk, I would rather join a top guild and rise through the ranks than spend my own money. It’s much safer.
ProGamer65: Yep, that’s the safer route. I predict thousands of guilds will appear, and I’m sure nearly 60% of them will shut down, causing their owners to lose a fortune.
---------
" Sigh." Victor sighed as he rubbed his temples. He already remembered that in the beginning, hundreds of thousands of guilds were created, and by the third month, only a few survived due to the lack of members. He also needed to form his own guild, and the only method he could think of, besides revealing his identity as Faceless, was...
" I should join the World Academy," Victor mumbled.
The World Academy was the most prestigious school for Awakeners; even the top families sent their descendants there. Sure, they also had their own academies, but those academies did not contain the cream of the crop.
" Let me upgrade, my Lignining skills first" Vicor mumbled as used the Ligntuning stones he ad acucmalted from likling all the monsters in the Ligniing valley and upgraded his skills

[You have bought Mana Generator blueprints]
Victor waved his hand, clearing the lingering scent from the room. He covered Amber with a blanket and put on his clothes.
’Lilith, can you come to my room for a second?’ Victor said in his mind as he called Lilith. The reply came the next second.
’Hmm, Sir Victor wants Miss Lilith to come to his room, but isn’t Sir Victor mating with Miss Amber? Does Sir Victor want Miss Lilith to watch... Sir Victor, you are weird.’
Lilith’s voice rang in Victor’s head.
"..."
Victor’s lips twitched when he heard this, and black lines appeared on his forehead as he cursed the cat inwardly.
"No, I have some blueprints I want you to learn and use the robots to start construction," Victor took a deep breath and said.
A few minutes later...
Crackle
Like a bolt of lightning, Lilith appeared inside his room, looked around, and said, "I see, so Sir Victor is done mating with Miss Amber."
Lilith nodded several times with her small mechanical head.
"Cough, Lilith, take these blueprints and start constructing them," Victor said hurriedly as he tossed the blueprints toward her to change the subject.
"All right, Miss Lilith will do as Sir Victor asks of Miss Lilith," Lilith nodded as she grabbed the blueprints, vanished, and left the room.
"Let’s log out for now," Victor mumbled as he looked at the logout window. There was still time before the attack of his undead mother-in-law, and his troop numbers were increasing daily. Those troops were also conquering nearby regions.
As soon as he pressed the logout option, his heart jolted and his pupils shrank to pinpricks.
[Does host want to log out alone or bring a companion with him?]
"What..."
Victor’s mouth hung open when he saw the message, and he swallowed hard.
’Does it mean what I think it means?’
Victor thought as sweat trickled down his forehead.
As if sensing Victor’s question, another message popped up on his retina.
[Player Victor can bring NPCs loyal to him to Earth]
Bang
"Holy..."
Victor slammed his head hard against the bed and immediately stood on top of it. He rubbed his eyes several times and pinched himself to check whether he was dreaming.
He remembered that the last time NPCs could enter Earth was when both planets merged together. There had been a one-year war between Earth and the game world, which only stopped when countries on Earth submitted to various kingdoms.
"Victor, what the hell happened?"
Amber jolted awake after hearing the loud bang.
