Chapter 110: Project: Nova

To Heads 1, 2 and 3.

I have been tasked with finding and understanding the threat known as ’Nova’, who runs the organisation called Nova in Veil; this entity operates in a manner unlike anything I have encountered in my years in the service. Their movements are deliberate yet unpredictable; their motives are obscured and confusing.

I have come to understand that there are 7 members but there might be more for reconnaissance, etc. I am sad to say that I have not found out their true identities or where they are located; however, I am working on that and have found a clue which ties to a village that I am currently residing in as of right now while writing this letter.

What I came to understand is that there are 2 figureheads, or possibly one, in their hierarchy, with Nova being one of them and the other going by the code name I gave him, Klight, but I am unsure of how their hierarchy truly works. From what I understand, Klight seems to be less gruesome, unlike Nova, when it comes to harming or doing harm to others, whereas Nova seems to have no hesitation. I found this out while asking survivors of the mansion; they have raided, killing Rhett Maddox, a drugs and women trafficker.

There are 5 members whom I currently know who act on the will of these two, and these were what I found.

There are 3 women and 2 men. One of these women is mute; from what people – the survivors who were not killed and were left alone, somehow being deemed innocent – have said, she was signing to another member of the group, and I also found out about a soul art of one of them as well; it seems to be something related to rotting, dying or ageing of some sort. Apparently, when she touched a plant, it seemed to instantly wilt and lose its vitality.

I have nothing on the last woman.

One of those men was a giant, approximately around 7 ft or even taller. From how the survivors described him, he looked like a failed experiment. He was huge and was built as if he were the monster incarnate, and the other man was supposedly on fire; maybe his Soul Art has something related to that, I suppose, because when I went to the mansion, the whole place was charred and burnt.

But this is where my report becomes thin.

I have nothing on this man, Nova. No face, no voice, and no retractable patterns from previous cases; it is almost as if he were a void, and honestly, that terrifies me more than any Soul Art. To me, he is a mystery; I cannot find anything related to him or about him. He is his own man, there is no doubt about it, and it even makes me question if he really is part of this organisation or not. The only thing I can trace him back to is the death of Rhett, but that was also a mystery and was not done without fear or hesitation; he had conviction.

From what I understood of this man, Nova, he is an indescribable force and one to not be reckoned with. He left no clues. I think this man is a monster and should not be given a chance to live, but I will find out who this person is, as they knew I was after them, investigating them; they even left me a massive pile of dead bodies with their heads beheaded and with their sigil of a lowercase cursive l, carved into the wall.

So, Dear Heads 1, 2 and 3. Be careful with this organisation, as I believe this one to be something special we have not come up against; everything I have seen points to something new, something special, something deeply different and dangerous in ways I cannot explain.

But understand this, I believe that this man, Nova, might be something we never knew was possible.

Nova is not a threat to be underestimated.
