He also knew the reason for the dim light near her center. She was injured.

The location of an injury affected a person’s light, but the effect was localized and didn’t dim their entire aura.

As a Pharmacist for the Cyan Yuan Sect, he sometimes had to examine and treat injured disciples. This was part of his official duties.

He had observed that the more severe the injury, especially if it affected one’s Martial Arts Cultivation, the more dramatically a person’s light would change, sometimes turning a dazzling aura exceptionally dim.

This was similar to what he was seeing with Shui’Er now.

After discovering the issue with Shui’Er, Yang Chan didn’t immediately return his Soul Body to his physical form. Instead, he continued to scan his surroundings.

He needed to see just how many people in his courtyard had issues.

The new maids, like Shui’Er and Leng’Er, had been investigated once by the Cyan Yuan Sect, once by Han Bingyu, and even once more by the Han Family.

They had essentially been investigated three times, and only after the results were cross-referenced were they allowed to remain in Yuanqing Courtyard.

The fact that maids like Shui’Er and Leng’Er were now in Yuanqing Courtyard meant they had passed all investigations, virtually eliminating the possibility of them being spies. Yet, on a whim, he had used his Soul Body to check and discovered this problem.

Just moments ago, he had been watching Shui’Er and Leng’Er pull weeds and hadn’t noticed anything wrong with Shui’Er. He had merely assumed she was a bit stronger from doing manual labor. Now, it was clear there was a major issue.

’Sure enough, it’s easy to let one’s guard down in a comfortable environment.’

’I thought I was being cautious and careful enough, but it seems I was still lacking.’

’Otherwise, I wouldn’t have only just now discovered the problem with Shui’Er.’

Yang Chan observed several other maids. None of them were hiding their cultivation like Shui’Er, but he hadn’t finished checking everyone yet.
