Chapter 1839: Chapter 1838 - Changing the Moon
Lind was not making an Inheritance as his goal. That was that path of many cultivators that chose to leave behind their hope that someone would complete their path. They had given up on advancing or deeply wished to pass on their collected skills to those worthy of earning them.
He had seen some that were simple trials to true living worlds unto themselves. Special realms were even created to reward worthy participants. Lind had also seen the Ruins left after an Inheritance collapsed but they were incomplete.
Someone could gain treasures or maybe a partial piece of the overall Inheritance. It was something but it could also lead to dead ends.
Lind was not looking to make something that would one day break down into a Ruin. He wanted to make something new.
He first had to see what he had left to use. His ring was depleted. Yet, the creation of a world seemed to come with benefits.
Further, he was not the same as he was millions of years ago. His skills had a qualitative change.
The grade of the material was not his limit!
He wanted to explore that path more. He felt it was the right step to grasp his new Mystery.
"This place is not like a world. It will not generate treasures or other natural occurrences of any place we know. It exists solely as a place for you safely to heal and allow the new Immortal World to be shielded from your energies." The kraken princess explained what she knew but he frowned.
His aura found a very different reality. While there were no treasures, the resources were vast. He found everything from across the spectrum. He was about to speak when she smiled at him.
"Check their stability." The instant she spoke he saw the issue. While the resources were there, they made a very delicate arrangement. If he tried to extract anything, it would cause an issue across the land they stood on.
It was clear that it was never meant to exist forever. It was a safe place and only meant to contain his power as he recovered. His own Qi deviation had caused the issue from what he could tell.
The shield had sacrificed the essence to keep the Immortal World safe.
He smiled as his body was lined with emerald light. His Eyes and Touch helped him find the weak links and he used his hard won skill to restore the strength the resources should have. The kraken princess was slack jawed in shock.
She likely did not understand what he was doing but LInd had found clarity. He did not need his as yet condensed Mystery to achieve his goal. He had pushed his professions far beyond any other limits long ago.
His desperation to breakthrough had that silver lining.
He spent a few months moving around and finally, the world around them took on the quality of the Divine Lands. It was weaker but the far more solid feeling was familiar to them both.
The barrier also thinned. Lind could feel that it would be a final push to allow the Divine Lands to truly connect to the world he had created.
He gained wisdom as he repaired the weakness in the land. It did not solely require him to gain his final Mystery. He could follow several paths.
He could ascend on his own and shatter the barrier.
He could forge a special path set to his requirements to filter decent or ascent.
He could even use the kraken princess to construct a trial to allow the Void Ocean residents to regulate the flow of traffic.
Myriad ideas filled him but he rejected them all. It was easy and it clearly had been done.
Once the moon was stable, he began to plan. He could not simply start making things in the current attempt. He had to be clear about what he was making.
The Heart of Origins allowed Divine Realm cultivators to learn his Mysteries and his elemental power without him being present. It was something never made before.
Rather than making a legacy that would traverse the worlds, he wanted to make something for the Immortal World alone.
He wanted to make something to replace a Divine Tribulation!
It had never been done but he felt inspired. It would have to be difficult and very harsh as Heaven and Earth would not allow it easily. Still, he had ideas.
He started with analyzing the barrier. It was far stronger than him. He found that interesting. A Master Tier was technically the peak of power in the worlds. While an Eternal Realm was beyond that, the power of the barrier felt nothing like that.
It was tailored to him. He could perceive that much. Yet, it was far stronger than anything he could hope to create. He could still find it useful.
He began to study the barrier alone and it consumed thousands of years. The complexity was not the issue, it was the way it countered him perfectly. His normal aura was wiped with ease so he had to find ways to peel away the layers.
It took centuries just to figure that out! He then felt his Touch was once more the answer. It improved dramatically to the point it rivaled his Eyes.
He felt the flow of energy and enlightenment found him. He saw how to make barriers to entrap Divine Realm cultivators with ease! It was so simple!
Rather than raw power or nullifying aspects, he could create a barrier that adapted to a target! It would restrict and mitigate a Divine Realm after being exposed to their aura once!
Further, he found it useful. He could adapt that barrier to be like a filter. Those that were below the Immortal Realm could never advance without touching fully on the Daos they chose to carve out.
He started there. He needed a way to restrict those that wanted to advance. It would not be biased. He had to allow both wicked and righteous a chance just as Heaven and Earth did.
Still, there was nothing that said karma could not be brought to bear by his own methods.
Heaven and Earth was fair. It was never considered kind.
He began to bind the barrier to the physical land he had healed on. He then began to consider the next step as he worked. Making a filter was still like an Inheritance but it did bind the moon to the Immortal World.
If he made the rest of it into an Inheritance, that connection could be severed.
The Heart of Origins was not going to work either. It was a rather simple, if powerful, artifact. What he was working toward had no name.
He wanted to replace the tribulation with all he had learned. It had to be harsh but with a chance to succeed.
He could not be arbitrary nor simply leave trials behind. It had to be able to push Sovereign Tiers beyond their current realm.
He invoked his Authority as he worked. The once lush landscape changed. Structures began to appear that seemed like temples or steps. Mostly they were made of stone as that was the largest resource he could make.
Yet, they were far beyond that. The once simple place of healing now became an ever ascending millstone. There were no jade slips, treasures, or other typical Inheritance options.
Instead, a cultivator would be honed by the 8 layers Lind had comprehended. He had to make them face a path of thorns. There could not simply be an opportunity but a true tribulation.
The aura of the place changed drastically compared to before. The kraken princess was left floored as the once serene landscape became a place that felt like a tribulation gathering!
How was such a thing possible?!
Lind’s aura surged as well. His mind cleared and he was constantly having a flow of Mystery energy flowing into him. It was unlike any condensation layer she or he had ever heard of.
Lind did not feel like the facets were falling in place. It was entirely different from anything he had done before.
He understood why he had struggled so much. Three facets were meaningless in front of his goal. The Mystery of Possibilities refused to be confined!
His professions were the 3 keys but that was all! When he used them to make what had never been done or push the limits was the true progress he had been looking for!
His speed increased with his understanding and the pair felt like the special moon interior had changed dramatically. Gone was the simple expanse of grasslands and forest.
In its place was a fortress that funneled all to a massive gate. The gate was made of metal and stone. It was glowing with power that left the kraken princess shivering.
The sun, which should have become a direct path to the Divine Lands, was now enclosed in crystal and sigils.
"What–what is it you have made?!" Lind was covered in sweat and exhausted but he felt very close to finalizing his 9th layer. Still he smiled at her.
"Divine Tribulation Moon." The 3 words caused a rumble of thunder as tribulation lighting struck down but it did not go after either of them. It fused with the towers, walls, and stairs before them.
The gate became almost a shimmering font of power as all 18 elements flared from it.
Lind was smiling but the kraken princess had flinched. He had succeeded! Still, it was sealed. It was the final step he needed.
He needed someone to come through to grasp what he needed. He needed to see someone prove his concept was true!
