Chapter 1838: Chapter 1837 - Not a Mystery
"Father is not wrong!" Lind was currently being defended by the grass fan spirit as both Haro and the kraken princess seemed to disagree with what he was pursuing. He had told them what he felt and while it was clear he had made a step forward, both denied his conclusion.
"Master, possibilities are not able to be a Mystery. It is not like your Tapestry Layer that could be defined by the invisible bonds and effects in causality made by them. You gave it a definition and thus Heaven and Earth acknowledged it." Haro held his arms up to appease the small spirit girl as he smiled. "Possibilities, as you well know, are too broad. Enlightenment is possible, failure is possible, adventures and other events simply can happen. It does not require Qi, Laws, or any external energy to be defined."
The kraken princess nodded and even went farther.
"Even if such a thing existed, your Tapestry Layer should already cover such a concept. Your experience revealed you can follow the flow of connections and even interfere in lives. You can see those close to you without using your aura to the same effect. Would that not be the same as possibility manipulation?" Lind smiled as he saw they did not get it.
He then picked up the grass fan and flicked his wrist. She opened and a profound aura flared. It was not his.
Both Haro and the kraken princess felt their jaws drop. They were not experts but they had lived long enough to gauge material quality at a glance.
The grass fan, by its very name, was made of the most common grade 8 material. Divine Qi still suffused even grass so it was the lowest quality that existed in Lind’s former Emerald Haven.
Still, it was grass. It did not gain any special ability or had any real elemental power outside of earth and water.
Yet, the power of the small fan was clearly on par with Mystery Grade all on its own and held all the elements at that level. The body showed no strain and the young spirit girl suddenly moved smoothly in the air.
The area around her was under her complete control that neither Haro, a fellow spirit, nor the kraken princess, a Journeyman Tier cultivator, felt they could break her hold!
"The Tapestry Layer deals with what exists. I am not talking about that. I am talking about what I seek. I look for the paths left in darkness that even I am unsure exist. I do not bind my spirits to their body’s purpose so they can choose how they will live." Haro suddenly looked shaken.
He stumbled and then fell on his back end in the grass.
"Your elemental theory and incorporating the 3 elemental systems! You defy! Your harmony really is the Mystery of Defiance!" Having lived with Lind the longest, Haro grasped it quickly.
He then frowned.
"Even so, Master, that does not change things. There is no Mystery of Possibilities. At least, not like that. It would be like saying you wanted to condense the Mystery of the Impossible. It is simply not something Heaven and Earth could acknowledge." Lind was not surprised.
He realized they were focusing on the wrong thing.
He then summoned an elixir in a jade vial, a weaving plate, and a simple sword. They were not his best work but there was something about them unique to him.
"Can either of you find someone to make any of these aside from me?" Confused, the pair examined the objects. The little spirit girl was drawn to the sword but it was spiritless.
The kraken princess was the first to squeak in shock.
"What is this?!" Haro quickly scanned with his aura but did not understand the issue.
"It is an Immortal Grade Soothing Soul Elixir. It has held up well. It can heal soul injuries as well as mental damage. The body can also benefit from a cleansing." It was just one of many elixirs Lind had made over his life but even he had not appreciated how crazy they were.
"Do you not understand?! I can see the grade but feel its aura!" Haro looked at him but Lind just held out his hand. Haro looked again before a frown crossed his face.
"What? Why does it feel stronger?" Haro took the jade vial and saw the shimmering of the sigils engraved on it light up. He then became saucer eyed as he understood. He then looked up at Lind.
"It is still an Immortal Grade for now but it is changing to a Dao Grade very slowly." Lind had never considered what his harmonic energy might do to his creations as time passed. Usually, pills and elixirs degraded no matter what anyone did. Jade vials and storage boxes just slowed it down.
Lind now understood his harmony was far more terrifying than anyone had expected and his professions were where it manifested the most evidently.
"The weaving grew stronger and the harmonic Qi woven into the elixir matrix is nurturing it even inside the ring." The pair then quickly examined the other 2 items.
Based on his words, the weaving plate was a foregone conclusion but it was true proof!
The plate was only grade 6 yet the weaving on it had reached peak grade 7!
The sword was actually the oldest of them all. It was clearly Forged at grade 5 when Lind was experimenting with his weaving early in his acquisition of it.
Yet, despite the grade being clear to their senses, its aura was also well into grade 7!
Two whole grades! No additional material nor anything else! How had this been missed for so long?!
Haro looked up and then understanding slowly came to him.
"You already are at the threshold and it caused this much of a change?" Lind nodded. The kraken princess then began to understand.
"The facets. There may not be a Mystery of Possibilities but there are professional Mysteries! If you condense each into a facet–" Both became pale. It seemed useless on the surface until the 3 examples reminded them.
There was no name for such a craftsman that could unlock the potential of his creations yet it also meant he could grasp Laws none had touched before. Daos that seemed useless to most cultivators might find new life under his hands!
There were no limits but the power of a Mystery was not so simple! It was his penultimate layer! It would be interwoven into the other 8!
"Master, this could be very dangerous. It nearly killed you and now that I understand what you are proposing, it could still easily do it!" Ambition and arrogance had killed more cultivators at any realm than any other reason.
Even if a cultivator could grasp a profound Mystery to condense, it did not mean they could survive it.
Lind’s Tapestry Layer was a good example. It was very profound and very powerful. If someone had not condensed similarly profound previous layers, it would tear them apart.
Both of them knew Lind was strong but what he was explaining to them sounded beyond anything anyone could ever grasp!
Lind was talking about the power to unleash what could be. Growth simply by being touched by his harmony was something no one had considered. Creating a Mystery Grade item out of grass was not something any sane craftsmen would consider.
They seemed simple but it was too large. The energy needed would be off the scale!
Lind understood their fears but he knew it was his path forward. He also knew it was the key to his greatest problem. His previous lives had fused a lot of power into themselves.
None of it helped. The Bastard won every time. Whether it was the one reborn in the new cycle or the original, the result was the same.
The only change was now and it was his harmony. What better complement to Defiance than to add Possibility? Dangerous? Of course it was.
If he was going to gamble, now was the time. They had no second chances.
The pair slowly accepted his arguments.
"I will not be safe to be around so Haro and the grass fan have to go back in the ring. When I succeed, I suspect Karu’s prediction will occur. I will ascend." He was about to put them away when the kraken princess stopped him.
"If you are right, I think cultivation is not the way. I think–I think you need to create your Legacy Inheritance." The term was not unfamiliar to him. He had made pseudo-Inheritances as an Immortal and it could be argued the Moebius Sect was close to a 6 elemental Inheritance as any could be made.
What the kraken princess was telling him was that he should create something on par with the Twins or Skinwalker. An Inheritance that would actively search the myriad worlds for inheritors.
Lind was about to shake his head but then froze. The greatest progress had been with the Heart of Origins. His choice to let his creations call him Father also made a massive jump.
It was not cultivation that helped at all, it was pursuing that very thing he had just talked about! He would make something new!
He began to laugh as an idea took hold and he looked at the shimmering emerald barrier all around them.
The trio were confused but Lind actually could not resist.
"I have a very old friend who would love what I am about to do." Haro tilted his head while the kraken princess simply narrowed her eyes. The small spirit was the one to ask.
"Why, Father?!" He patted her head and then pointed out to the lower worlds.
"Because one day, somewhere and sometime, a young child will look up and ask why is that moon so odd. The adult will turn to them and say the immortal words: That is no moon that is–" Lind paused as they all looked at him in some concern aside from the grass fan spirit.
He waved it off.
"You will see. I have work to do." He then put the spirit fan away after comforting her. Haro also went into the ring. The 2 Divine Realm cultivators then discussed the next steps. He would need her help.
