Chapter 1836: Chapter 1835 - Tapestry of a World
Lind found he did not regret using the birth of the world to speed up the repair of his Time Layer. While the damage was no longer so fine it felt impossible to detect, it took monumental effort to move anything!
What took him only a few years before now took centuries! A little over 10,000 years passed before any kind of progress was accomplished.
He awoke out of his current session drained! Rather than being energized, he was exhausted! If he had not healed his Time Layer before, he estimated it could take millions of years before he was even halfway done!
Thankfully, with this Time Layer healed, his Tapestry Layer would not take that long. Even as he sat there, the funnel Divine Qi, Daos, and Mystery energy flowed into him like a sponge soaking up water.
It only took a few days to restore his current capacity. He checked on the others and smiled as he saw the little fan spirit playing happily with the others. Her growth was slow but she had grown.
If he worked with her more himself, she would likely mature much faster but he not only needed to heal, he wanted her to have many happy memories. He was uncertain how he would dare to use her for anything as he truly did not know what she could handle.
His expertise made her possible but even the best expert would have to test their creations to find their limits. Her materials were far below the others he had made.
Still, she existed. Heaven and Earth were fair, there had to be a way. She was also able to use his intent to unlock the Haven before. That was not something even he had anticipated.
He also remembered he was talking to her when his deviation began. He quickly shut down the memories as he recentered himself. He did not want to undo all his work or even die.
He calmed himself and resumed his cultivation. Now that some progress had been made, the speed picked up but he frowned.
As he healed his foundation, he began to be assaulted by images. They were not his memories nor even of him at all. They were very blurry at first but the quality was far inferior to what he was used to.
He was confused but did not feel any danger. As his healing slowly improved a clear image finally appeared. It was a little girl smiling as she ran through a wheat field. The moldy wooden fence showed it was a well established farm and the towering trees affirmed the agrarian setting.
He heard the moo of a cow in the distance and she giggled.
An older man of similar features suddenly appeared and sighed as he loomed over her. She put her hands behind her back as she smiled sweetly up at him. He cracked a smile back and his callused hands rubbed her sandy hair affectionately.
{--ther worry–food–} The words were barely there but he could piece them together. Lind wondered where the intrusion was coming from but he felt an instinct to keep watching.
More images flowed but not just of her. He recognized the small village here or there while he saw towers of jade and metal as well. He saw pleasant moments to truly tragic ones.
A young man was killed wrongly for the crime of being in the wrong place and accused of thievery. A young girl became a powerful World Realm and freed her lover from a prison. A father became too ill to work and his family was taken from him by his brother.
They were from all walks of life and could be an Immortal all the way down to a mortal child. Beasts also appeared but there did not seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.
It was only as time passed that he slowly began to grasp a piece of it. The young girl from the farm was now a young woman. She was running in terror as wolves closed in.
She had gone to get precious herbs from the forest and crossed their path. A story as old as time and heading for the sad ending he had heard of or witnessed with his own eyes.
Lind could do nothing but a thought popped into his head.
[I wish I could help.] The thought bloomed and his Tapestry Layer reacted! There was some pain but nothing worrying. He observed as the wolves were about to catch her when he nearly jumped up in shock.
He was there!
It was just a brief moment, no more than a fraction of an eyeblink, but an ephemeral version of him appeared in emerald light!
The instant it did, the wolves yelped and scattered in all directions. The young girl fell but she was conscious. She looked around covered in sweat, dirt, and blood, yet alive. Tears fell as she quickly got up and seemed to bow randomly in a direction.
She then ran back to her village.
What had just happened?! Lind observed more and he slowly realized what was happening. His dantian combined with the Emerald Haven were the foundation of the world. While his Tapestry Layer was damaged, it was still there.
Now that he was healing, he was resonating with those touched by his layer.
{All bonds weave the pattern}
That facet was the most likely culprit. He was unquestionably connected to the entirety of the world below no matter how diverse it had become.
The lower the world should have dispersed it to almost nothing but the Tapestry Layer did not work that way. His personal connections were like a web, spreading ever outward. While some could become tenuous, it would not break.
It could only transform. The threads of fate were similar but they were imposed on all equally. Lind had just manipulated his Tapestry Layer to impose his will. He had felt resistance from something that had to be Heaven and Earth.
Since she was only a Soul Realm, and did not seem to have high potential, it was very small. He also saw great risk.
Everything had a price and his second facet reared up then.
{A single thread can bind it all.}
If he tried to conform the various worlds to his will, it would obviously be revealed quickly and lead to those trying to take advantage of it. They would induce situations to get a reaction out of him and use his intervention for their benefit.
He considered thousands of scenarios but eventually it would come to the point a Divine Realm would discover him. He had no idea if an ascending Sovereign Tier could find a way to reach him, yet he could imagine what they would do.
Lind was injured and while able to fight, he suspected the current barrier restricted his full force.
He had not tried it yet his aura’s limited reach told him enough.
Heaven and Earth were fair. While he was not harmed in his descent to the Immortal World, his power would not be allowed to run rampant.
Further, he had not been able to hear anything yet his Tapestry Layer bypassed that restriction.
He continued and he realized there was more than randomness to it. The young girl had been inspired by her near death experience and went to a sect to grow stronger. Her drive allowed her to just barely use her highest potential vitality to reach all the way to the Heaven Realm in a few hundred years!
Lind saw others across the worlds and he realized what was drawing his aura to them. They were people who struggled in the cruel path of cultivation but did not lose their core morality.
They accepted they had to kill to survive but did not relish in it. They found a reason to grow strong to protect others or to resolve the mysteries of the path of cultivation.
He was seeing people he would have definitely recruited or encouraged. He was seeing people that instinctively had been affected by his aura, no matter how faint, and set off on a path similar to his in many ways.
It was only as he refocused on his dantian that he got the biggest shock. His healing was not only speeding up, his Tapestry Layer was refined to a higher quality!
He was able to fully explore what the layer could do! It was not just grasping it mentally or improving his existing connections but the vast connection across all worlds!
The thought caused a slight spike in pain as new images appeared. Familiar vistas now filled his head and he actually teared up as the old Drakmor Empire still stood. The Divine Sword Sect and Heavenly Maiden Sect continued to be supreme powers but the greatest change was the Moebius Sect.
It essentially ruled an entire continent where all races thrived. There were signs of factions fighting but his ideals still lived!
He saw Cimmeria thriving as the former Rakathi Wastes were now full of cities and villages.
The Floating Isles were much more interconnected. The former shadowy areas had apparently benefited far more from the fall of the Fiends.
He saw so much more but it was like he was allowed to check in on all his former homes. Some familiar faces remained in the Immortal Realm. Anything below that level he could only pick up traces of familial matches.
His healing sped up immensely until his vision returned to his current Immortal World. He was seeing a young girl struggling.
She was not destitute but her life was not kind. It only took a moment to see why.
She was a 6 elemental. Her hair was nearly black but her eyes were pale violet. A trace of demon blood?
No power had come to his new world yet. Maybe he was blocked off until he was healed? Lind pushed the stray thoughts away.
He focused on her and he knew what he needed to do. It would be far more than a fleeting phantom!
He felt hard resistance from Heaven and Earth. Still, he smiled. He was not going to break the world.
The young girl suddenly paled as a phantom appeared. It was Lind! He smiled gently and held out his hand.
{A spark to light the way.} He could not transfer everything but he could put her on the right path.
She trembled and took a chance. The instant she brushed his fingers she went into enlightenment. He gave her the elemental theory. The rest was up to her!
He snapped back and a shockwave shot out from his body. He was healed!
