Chapter 1833: Chapter 1832 - Divine Deviation
Lind learned a lot in the months that followed. While the Emerald Haven became an ideal situation, what happened to him had happened before.
If deviation occurred in lower realms, it was a great risk to the cultivator but essentially isolated to them unless it turned into a complete self-destruction.
In that instance, the energies unleashed could cause severe damage or transformation of an area depending on demon, human, or whatever race it was.
The worst was a Celestial. Their powerful Qi could rewrite an entire area beyond anything usable for anyone but their own kind. Thankfully, it was very unlikely for them to suffer from deviation ever.
The Divine Realm, however, changed the rules. Divine Memory was reality. If imparted to an artifact or Inheritance, it could literally hold a piece of the past that could be lived through once more.
Divine Will was essentially the real person only missing the freedom to move unfettered in the world and whatever final experiences happened after it was created.
Divine Intent could impose a change on the world, even the Divine Lands, that only other Divine Realm cultivators could hope to resist.
The point was that anything related to the Divine Realm was able to affect reality at the fundamental level.
Divine Deviation, therefore, was a very serious issue. A slight deviation, as with any other realm, was a minor problem. The Divine Lands could resist any fallout and not even produce a ripple if it occurred.
When it got to a moderate deviation, there were severe steps that needed to be taken. Protection wards, maybe even a special realm entirely, were to be made to contain the various energies coming off of the Divine Realm cultivator.
The reason being was that the power was uncontrolled but it was coherent. It was emanating from the completed Mysteries or partial ones in the dantian that was damaged. That meant the facets guided the power to impose the path of the Divine Realm all around them.
A healer would make a paradise of herbs, treasures, and other objects to create pills, elixirs, and so forth. An honorable warrior could actually birth a race of humans, demons, or whatever race they were from that adhered to their code like a religion.
The reverse, of course, was just as horrific. A corrupted demon could carve out a hellscape. A predator would make a land where it would have prey in numbers only meant to be fed to it.
With such dangers, deviation was treated as a nightmare no matter the morality of the figure involved.
Severe deviation was then given the official name of Divine Deviation. It was the worst case scenario as it was more than just shifting the nature around them. It was carving out a new world!
The principles of Immortal realms were decided by Heaven and Earth so when a Master Tier had deviation, they were nearly a world unto themselves conforming the area to their own rules.
Heaven and Earth was not against it. If the flow resonated enough, the process was actually quite natural but not without risk. Creating a world was the purview of Heaven and Earth.
While many paths existed for all levels, a Divine Realm cultivator causing it came with a risk. Lind now understood why the krakens and leviathans could invoke such a response in land based Divine Realm cultivators.
The new world had to cross into the Void Ocean. While it made sense, it put the cultivators in danger. Even Lind, with his harmony, found the depths of the Void Ocean to be hazardous.
Fiends could not breach it easily either so it only proved how powerful it was. Only when all life was sucked away by the horrific bridge had its power been breached.
If Lind had proceeded without consulting anyone, he would have faced a dire situation as the Void Ocean flooded the Emerald Haven.
The disruptive influence would have likely led to fatal deviation. He would have faded as the Emerald Haven was sunk into the waves. Heaven and Earth might complete the process but no one knew the truth of that.
Only those that survived ever came back. The kraken princess’ claims that only females were any good were also true.
Something about the female side allowed them to better resonate with the energies of the Void Ocean and the Divine Lands.
It had been a happy accident that allowed it to be discovered at all. A leviathan had made a good relationship with a coastal power. It was a small and isolated place that lived in relative peace.
There were no precious treasures or anything that drew eyes so it was a rare thing but a young leviathan had been separated from her pod and the leader of that place took them in. They learned much and when her family came, they formed an alliance.
One day, many thousands of years later, a wicked rogue nearly struck down the leader and his son. The leader had encouraged those under him to grow stronger so when they were killed, a young man that was a close friend to his son rose up and risked it all to kill the murderer.
He was a peak Journeyman Tier and broke through to the Master Tier in rage and despair. It caused massive deviation but he won.
The leviathans felt the shift in their ally and discovered what was happening as he healed. They chose to help the power recover and the young female leviathan focused on the young man.
He wanted to heal to help protect the entire area yet the more he healed, the more things changed. He was a danger to them all.
As he got close to his peak, the Void Ocean surged and came for him. He was well inland and it should not have been possible. The leviathan quickly acted to protect him and to the shock of all, it worked!
A new world was born that took all the natives below the Divine Realm with it.
It was then explored and confirmed that the kraken race could also work. It would take some sacrifices to confirm that women succeeded more than men.
It was not about the gender of the cultivator either. Man or woman, a female kraken or leviathan were the better result.
Thus, Lind began to learn what to expect and what to do.
He essentially had to keep healing. Now that his Apprentice Tier had laid a foundation, the Journeyman Tier would trigger the next phase.
The Emerald Haven would no longer be a special space attached to him but become a world unto itself. It would call the Void Ocean at that point and then things would get out of hand.
The part even the princess could not answer was what would happen when he started on his Master Tier Mysteries. They would learn about it together.
He confirmed that he had to put any final affairs in order as when he began to cultivate again, there was no way to know when the Void Ocean would come, only that it would.
Haro also returned to his ring at her urging. The small grass fan was also put into the ring to protect her. Lind then asked about the time flows.
Unlike the Divine Lands, where some conditions could induce a different flow of time, Lind had intentionally created massive tracts of different flows of time.
She had no answers but she affirmed changing them was irrelevant.
He sighed and then sealed the entrance to the Emerald Haven. It would not stop the Void Ocean anyway, but it would keep out people.
Lind then found a place still sparse with life and a stronger flow of time as well. He assumed a lotus position and began to resume healing.
If he thought the Apprentice Tier was hard, he was already missing it as he explored the damage. He was not even sure he was detecting everything as he slowly gathered what pieces he could find.
The energies were in disarray but were better than before. His restored Apprentice Tier foundation was helping the deviation to stop spreading. Now that the damage was contained, it was simply a matter of carefully placing everything back where it belonged.
He had no idea how much time passed but he had not even completed the Heaven Layer when he felt a shift. His instincts flared so he paused and sensed around him.
Everything seemed to have significant changes, yet nothing else. He had no idea what had roused his sense of danger. The kraken princess was also cultivating and she had not reacted to anything.
He resumed his session but the sense of danger kept rising. He had never felt anything like it even when facing the Bastard.
Her words came back to him and he understood that his harmony was actually powerless in front of what was coming. He cleared his mind but kept a piece of his awareness focused outward.
As he began on the Earth Layer, a dramatic change finally occurred but it was not the Void Ocean, it was the Heavens!
The kraken princess reacted at last in confusion. Her eyes then went wide as she also paled.
"Why?! Where is the Void Ocean?!" She seemed to know what was going on but Lind felt it was far more dangerous for him to stop and ask questions at that point. He continued but he saw her partially return to her natural state.
She dwarfed him easily as her massive tentacles moved so fast he could not keep up. She inscribed formations unlike any he had ever heard of. A dark violet glow came from them suddenly and she froze.
She whirled around and then realized what was happening.
"The flow of time affected it?!" Lind nearly stopped at her words yet his aura detected nothing. He frowned and focused more on his aura.
The instant he did, he realized parts of the Emerald Haven were beyond his ability to detect! It was not as disruptive as the Void Ocean usually felt. It was much calmer while still giving him a feeling of danger.
She began to frantically inscribe and the feeling of danger began to recede slowly. He resumed his cultivation. He had his part to play and she hers.
The process had begun.
