Chapter 296: The Leaders Acting, Adaptation Wheel
Garrett hesitated for only a moment before following, his own power manifesting as a dark grey energy that swirled around his massive halberd.
The battlefield instinctively slowed as everyone sensed two Level 50 experts entering the fight.
Guild members scrambled to clear a path for their leaders while Genesis players watched with renewed fear as the true threats finally revealed themselves.
Caelus felt the shift in pressure immediately, his attention snapping toward the approaching guild leaders.
Reign Bloodfang moved with the fluid grace of someone who had fought countless battles, his crimson power pulsing with barely contained power.
Garrett Stone followed closely behind, his massive halberd already raised and ready to strike.
Intent Sense fed information directly into Caelus’s consciousness as he observed them.
Extremely dangerous Both targets possess genuine killing intent.
The Crimson Power is adaptive.
Adaptive?
What did that mean?
Caelus filed that observation away as Sylvia appeared beside him, her grin never wavering despite the increased threat level.

"Hubby, If I kill them all will you hug me all day?" Sylvia asked with a smile on her face.
Caelus was taken aback by this abrupt question.
Who talks about hugging while in a serious battle?
"Yeah." Caelus said with a sigh. "But I can’t do it all day."
Sylvia looked slightly disappointed hearing this. But she didn’t mind this.
This was just a way of motivating herself.
"I will kill them both for you!" Sylvia declared.
"Don’t underestimate them," Caelus warned hearing this. "They’re both Level 50 and have the same power level as us."
"I know." Her crimson eyes gleamed with excitement. "That just makes it more fun."
As they finished their words, Reign Bloodfang struck.
His movement was almost too fast to track, crimson energy trailing behind him as he closed the distance to Caelus in a single heartbeat.
Caelus barely managed to raise his guard in time, the impact of Reign’s fist against his crossed arms sending shockwaves rippling through the surrounding air.
The ground beneath his feet cracked from the force.
’Strong.’ Caelus thought while sliding backward. ’Much stronger than anyone else I’ve fought till now.’
He immediately counterattacked, the Ancient Dragon God’s golden claws sweeping toward Reign’s exposed side.
Reign twisted his body with impossible flexibility, avoiding the strike by the smallest possible margin before launching a spinning kick toward Caelus’s head.
Telekinesis grabbed a nearby chunk of debris and hurled it into the kick’s path, buying Caelus enough time to create distance.
Meanwhile, Garrett had engaged Sylvia, his massive halberd creating wide arcs of destruction that forced her to constantly move.
His Talent became apparent within the first few exchanges.
[Gravity Domain]
The air around Garrett visibly distorted as gravity itself bent to his will, creating zones of increased weight that made movement within them significantly harder.

Sylvia’s graceful footwork stuttered when she accidentally stepped into one of the invisible zones, her body suddenly feeling three times heavier than normal.
Garrett immediately capitalized on the opening, his halberd sweeping toward her neck with devastating force.
The Crimson Sovereign intercepted the blow, its massive claws catching the halberd’s blade and stopping it cold.
Sylvia used the moment to leap backward, escaping the gravity zone before Garrett could press his advantage.
’How annoying’ she thought while circling her opponent. ’He’s creating traps I can’t see.’
However, despite this, the smile on her face never wavered.
On the other side, Caelus and Reign continued their exchange at blinding speed, each strike and counter creating shockwaves that scattered nearby fighters.
They were moving as fast as 204 MPH. The Power of 180 Combat score that they both possessed was not for show.
Holy Sword Surge activated as golden light coated Caelus’s fists, the golden energy adding weight to every blow he landed. Holy Sword Surge was good for shredding defense.
However, Reign blocked the first strike, then the second, then the third.
On the fourth strike, something changed.
The impact that should have sent Reign stumbling barely moved him at all, his body absorbing the force with unnatural efficiency.
And for a moment, a wheel manifested above his head and begin moving.
Caelus’s eyes flickered seeing this, remember the words of the intent sense.
Adaptation, Caelus realized immediately. His Talent is adapting to my attacks.
Realizing this, he switched tactics instantly, abandoning the direct approach in favor of Telekinesis.
Multiple chunks of debris launched toward Reign from different angles simultaneously, the invisible force making them impossible to predict through normal means.
Reign’s eyes widened slightly as the first piece of debris caught him across the shoulder, the impact spinning him sideways.
The second and third pieces followed before he could recover, battering his guard and creating openings Caelus immediately exploited.
The Ancient Dragon God’s golden spear manifested and thrust toward Reign’s chest.
Reign barely managed to deflect it, but the force still sent him skidding backward across the bloody ground.
"Interesting," Reign said while wiping blood from his lip. "You noticed my Talent already."

"If I’m not wrong, you have the talent to adapt, that wheel is your adaption, isn’t it?" Caelus replied calmly. "Every time you suffer the same type of attack repeatedly, you adapt to it."
Reign’s expression flickered with surprise before settling into a cold smile.
"Correct. But knowing about it and dealing with it are two very different things."
He charged again, faster than before.
Sylvia had begun adapting to Garrett’s Gravity Domain, her enhanced senses gradually learning to detect the subtle distortions in the air that marked each invisible zone.
She weaved through the battlefield like flowing water, her Blood Sword slicing toward Garrett whenever he created openings in his own defense.
But Garrett was no amateur.
His halberd moved with surprising speed for such a large weapon, the blade intercepting her strikes while his Gravity Domain continuously shifted to create new obstacles.
The combination of offensive pressure and environmental control made him incredibly difficult to fight head-on.
She realized she would need to think strategically instead of relying purely on aggression.
