Chapter 259: Freya’s return, Ender of Life’s Powers! Someone is watching us

Caelus and Sylvia appeared back inside their apartment.

Before they even had time to properly rest after the long day there, the apartment doorbell rang. Caelus sighed and walked toward the living room. On the way, the doorbell rang even more.

Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!

"What the hell? Stop ringing the bell, I am coming!" Caelus shouted as he sped up his pace.

Caelus finally walked over and opened the door.

The moment the door opened, a small figure immediately bolted in without waiting for permission.

It was Freya who rushed in, full of excitement.

Her bright eyes sparkled as she looked around the room.

"I have finally descended! Origin!" Freya shouted happily.

"Come on! Let’s go hunt Leviathans!"

Caelus stared at her with twitching lips.

Are there even leviathans in this world to begin with?

"What are you saying, Freya? There are no leviathans here," Caelus said helplessly.

Freya, however, confidently pointed her finger toward the window outside.

"We will find them! Come, let’s get going, Origin."

She sounded completely serious despite how ridiculous the idea she proposed was.

Hearing the commotion, Sylvia had also come over. Seeing who it was, she immediately became displeased.

She stepped right between Freya and Caelus as she spoke. "Do not get so close to Caelus, you damn Ender!"

Freya immediately glared back at her in response.

She crossed her arms and puffed out her chest.

"And who are you to tell me that?" Freya demanded. "I am his little sister. Back off, lady!"

"I am his girlfriend," Sylvia replied with an angry look on her face.

"So what if you are his girlfriend?" Freya scoffed with a bratty tone. "I am his fellow Ender and his little sister! We are bound to each other due to our nature! You are just a side character!"

"What the hell are you saying?" Caelus was taken aback hearing Freya’s reply.

Was she reading webnovels or what?

Sylvia was naturally not going to back down.

She and her begun going back and forth.

Caelus watched the two girls as he rubbed his forehead helplessly.

"Enough," Caelus said. "Both of you stop fighting."

His voice made both girls stop their actions immediately.

After calming everyone down, Caelus guided them to the living room sofa.

He believed this was a nice opportunity to ask Freya about her talent.

Hence, without wasting time, he asked her about it.

"My Talent? I have an Upper SS Rank Talent called Life Bringer!" Freya said proudly.

"I can gather Life Essence from the world around me. With every one hundred points of Life Essence, I can create one Life Spirit. They can act as my personal summons and also do stuff for me. They are pretty good."

She proudly puffed her chest again. "I already have three Life Spirits right now!"

Caelus nodded in understanding. "How hard is it to get Life Essence?"

"It is super easy for me," Freya explained. "Life essence is dropped whenever I kill an enemy."

"Oh." Caelus nodded.

Then, she continued listing her other abilities.

"I can also freely wield every elemental power," Freya said. "Fire, water, wind, earth, you name it. I can also create my own elemental skills whenever I want."

Freya was not finished yet. "I can perceive the flowing veins of nature. I always know where life energy is strongest. Also, my Life Axiom Energy possesses incredibly powerful healing abilities. I can heal almost any wound."

Caelus nodded. Indeed, for an Ender, these powers were strong.

But that also gave birth to a question.

"Are those all of your powers?" Caelus asked.

"No," Freya shook her head. "My powers are still incomplete. They will naturally awaken over time as I grow stronger. But, right now, these are all I have."

However, she seemed to have left out one of the abilities.

"Oh, and I can shapeshift as well."

"Not bad," Caelus commented.

It seemed like these Enders needed to grow even stronger before they awakened more powers. Unlike him, they awakened it through their talent rather than their class.

Then, just as the conversation began settling down, Freya suddenly became serious.

Her playful smile vanished as she frowned.

"Hey Big Bro Origin, someone is watching us," Freya exclaimed.

Caelus immediately furrowed his eyebrows hearing this. "Who is it?"

Freya carefully looked around the room.

She closed her eyes to sense the surrounding life force.

Then, she slowly opened her eyes and frowned even more deeply.

"...Strange," Freya muttered. "The feeling disappeared."

She could no longer sense anything.

-----

Right above the apartment building, a strange creature perched on the edge of a nearby rooftop.

It was a green Spirit Crow.

It had three glowing eyes. It quietly watched the building in complete silence. This was the Life Spirit Freya used to observe the surroundings.

Far away on the other side of the world, a man quietly stood alone in a luxurious room. In his vision was precisely the green Spirit Crow.

He wore expensive golden chains around his neck. Golden sunglasses rested on his face. He even wore multiple heavy golden necklaces.

When he smiled, several of his teeth shined brightly, made entirely from pure gold.

In his hand was a solitaire card, which he played around with.

"Enders..." the man whispered. "The Ender of Life has already descended."

He turned around and looked out the massive window.

"Now..." he continued. "Where are the others?"

His smile grew wider, revealing more of his golden teeth.

"I am eagerly waiting for all of you."

----

In another unknown location, a cheerful-looking girl walked down a bloody street.

She smiled happily the entire time.

She casually stepped over the dead bodies lying on the ground.

She had killed the people standing before her moments ago as though it were a completely normal activity.

Afterward, she happily stretched her arms high into the air.

"Okay," the girl said with a grin. "We are going to live here now, Jörmungandr."

"Hehehe."

She looked up at the sky with a bright smile.

"Caelus..." Faust whispered softly. "Where are you? I cannot wait to find you. I am already here in this world."

-------

Inside a modest, simple house, a young woman kneeled on the floor. She was holding a glass of water.

If Caelus was here, he would immediately recognize her.

It was Lena.

Without any warning, a man in priestly clothing suddenly kicked her viciously across the room.

Bang!

Lena crashed hard into the wall.

She fell to the ground and began coughing violently.

She grabbed her chest, unable to breathe properly.

The man, who was none other than Mark Twilight, did not even look guilty. He looked at her with pure disgust.

"Bitch," Mark sneered. "This water is too hot."

Lena silently lowered her head, not daring to say anything.

Mark casually cracked his neck with indifference seeing this. He walked over and sat down in front of the television as though nothing had happened.

The news broadcast played on the screen. The reporter discussed the recent appearance of dangerous Rifts across the world.

Mark quietly watched the broadcast with a calm expression.

Then, he muttered to himself.

"...Rifts."

He leaned forward slightly.

"What exactly are they?"

----

Back in the apartment, Caelus turned to Freya.

It was now time to extract her talent as an Ender.
