Chapter 254: The Silver-Haired Maid! The Golden Sword Guild, Candy’s Gambling Luck

"Hello?" Caelus answered the call.

"Caelus! I did it!" Chad’s excited voice immediately came through the speaker.

Caelus smiled. "You passed?"

Chad had mentioned something to him in a text. He said he was going to apply for the Golden Sword Guild, which specialized in sword users only, and as someone with a powerful talent like Sword Bone, he was naturally more interested in a guild like that.

"Yes! I successfully passed the interview for the Golden Sword Guild!" Chad said happily through the phone. "They specialize in sword users. Starting today, I will officially become one of their members."

"That is great news, Chad."

"Because of this, I have also officially qualified for graduation," Chad added.

"You earned it, Chad. Do well. I’ve heard that the Golden Sword Guild treats their members well," Caelus sincerely congratulated him. "Keep working hard."

"I will! Let’s meet inside the Domain today or tomorrow. I’ll treat you to something!"

"Alright," Caelus replied shortly as he hung up the phone.

With this, Chad would also move away from the dorm.

The dorm that was once shared by his roomie and himself would now be deserted.

Caelus then put his phone away, feeling genuinely happy for his friend.

While walking home together, Caelus and Sylvia chatted casually. Walking without a conversation was simply boring.

"Taking those pistols from the Direwolf Gang was a good decision," Caelus mentioned.

Those weapons had already proven to be surprisingly useful.

They completely removed the need to waste mana on weak enemies, and they could instantly kill someone with a combat score of 50.

Sylvia nodded in agreement. "They definitely will come in handy."

As they continued walking down the street, they passed a brightly lit store.

It was a cosplay shop.

Sylvia suddenly stopped walking. A mischievous smile appeared on her face.

She turned toward Caelus and leaned in close.

"Hubby..." Sylvia whispered playfully. "You once said you wanted to see me wearing a maid outfit... Right~?"

Caelus immediately coughed awkwardly. He looked away, completely avoiding the question.

Sylvia giggled. She walked over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Wait here," she smiled. "I will be right back."

She turned around and entered the store.

After a short wait, Sylvia happily returned. She was carrying a small shopping bag.

She grabbed Caelus’s hand with a bright smile, pulling him along the sidewalk.

"Let’s go home quick~" Sylvia said.

Neither of them mentioned the maid outfit again during the walk home.

They simply enjoyed the quiet evening and each other’s company.

The moment they arrived at their apartment, Sylvia quickly disappeared into the bathroom.

Caelus sat on the sofa. He waited patiently.

A few minutes later, the bathroom door opened.

Sylvia slowly walked out. She was wearing an elegant maid outfit. It was not overly exaggerated. The black and white fabric looked refined and beautiful, perfectly hugging her curves. A delicate frilled headband rested in her silver hair.

She smiled sweetly at him.

"Welcome home, Master~"

Sylvia slowly walked closer. She tilted her head playfully.

"What would you like to do first?" she asked softly. "Dinner? A bath? Or maybe... you want me to give you a little massage?"

As she said that, she licked her lips with a mischievous look.

Caelus simply stared at her in complete silence.

"You..."

He was genuinely speechless.

He did not expect her to do it, and more importantly, she looked incredibly gorgeous in that outfit.

Sylvia giggled seeing his stunned reaction.

She sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Caelus did not hesitate anymore.

A fire immediately lit up inside him.

He pulled her close by her waist and kissed her deeply as his hands began exploring her body.

Sylvia melted into his embrace. She returned the kiss with equal passion.

Sylvia blushed heavily as she felt where Caelus’s hands were going. She smiled and buried her face into his chest.

The two held each other tightly as the evening naturally faded to black.

----

Some time later, Caelus slowly woke up.

The room was quiet. Sylvia was peacefully sleeping on top of him. Her silver hair was draped over his chest.

He gently kissed her forehead.

Sylvia stirred in response.

She slowly opened her eyes.

"I am tired, Hubby..." she softly mumbled, still half asleep.

She snuggled closer with her head resting on him.

"Sylvia, are you going to get up? It’ll be midnight soon. The domain will open anytime now."

"Of course, if you want to sleep in, that’s also fine. You must be mentally tired."

Sylvia, however, shook her head.

"No," she said softly. "We should go. We need to get stronger."

Caelus ruffled her hair silently upon hearing this.

"Then, let’s just lie down here silently for some time. How about that?" he suggested.

Sylvia had no problem with that. They both closed their eyes, enjoying each other’s warmth.

The two eventually got up after an hour.

They took a warm shower together, got dressed, and prepared for the day ahead in the domain.

Just then, a familiar notification chimed in their minds.

[Ding! Origin Ascension Domain is now open.]

Both of them immediately chose to enter.

Their vision blurred as the apartment faded away.

Moments later, they arrived at the market.

It was the exact same location as before. However, the bodies of the Shadow Halberd Guild members they defeated earlier had long disappeared. The people here had cleaned everything up. Everything had returned to normal.

Caelus smiled. "Let us go see Mason."

The two walked toward the familiar gambling den.

And much to their surprise, they met someone familiar.

In fact, they had encountered her in the morning.

It was Candy Charlotte.

She was lazily spinning the prize wheel with the same bored expression as always.

"Yo, Candy," Caelus greeted her. "We meet again."

Sylvia also said hello.

Sylvia had never viewed Candy as a threat. Unlike other women, Candy never showed any interest in Caelus. She simply treated him like another regular acquaintance.

Candy popped a bubble and gave her usual greeting.

"Hi."

Mason noticed their interaction.

"Oh?" Mason chuckled. "So you three know each other?"

They nodded and Caelus explained a bit about their relationship.

"I see." Mason nodded.

Just then, Candy’s gamble finished. She had bet 1,000 Origin Credits.

The glowing wheel slowly ticked to a stop as confetti flew from the wheel.

It landed on a 10x rebate!

Candy instantly received 10,000 Origin Credits.

"No way." Caelus stared in disbelief. "She got a 10x rebate?"

He became visibly jealous seeing the 10x rebate.

He had never gotten one before!

He had already converted nearly all of his Origin Credits into real-world money yesterday. Hence, he could not even gamble right now if he wanted to.

Candy noticed his pained expression and lazily raised an eyebrow.

"Wanna borrow some Origin Credits?" Candy asked.

Caelus was caught completely off guard hearing this.

After a moment of silence, he refused.

He might enjoy the thrill of gambling, but he was not desperate enough to borrow money just to do it. That crossed a line even for him.

Internally, Caelus could not help but think that Candy really was a surprisingly kind person beneath her lazy and indifferent exterior.

He silently hoped she would someday find someone who truly appreciated her.

After saying goodbye to Candy and Mason, Caelus turned toward Sylvia.

"I will head back to my town and check how things are going," Caelus said.

Sylvia nodded. "I will do the same."

The two separated and walked toward the town portal.

Caelus stepped through the glowing gate. The familiar, bustling town came into view.

Players filled the streets. Some were selling loot outside their cabins. Others were chatting loudly. Many were preparing their weapons for expeditions.

As Caelus walked, he overheard a nearby conversation.

"Did you hear?" a player asked.

"Someone took first place in the Misty Woods Ancient Ruins," another replied.

"Yeah. I heard they are not even part of a guild."

"Damn. How long has it been since independent players topped the rankings?"

"I know, right?"

"Something is rising, and it isn’t the Shield Hero."

"Really, bro? Are we doing this now?"

Caelus ignored the gossip completely and kept walking.

His destination was his personal cabin. He wanted to check it out.

He had neglected it for quite some time.
