Chapter 245: Massacring the Shadow Halberd Guild! Chad Witnesses the Abyss Mentality, The Post-Murder Dinner Date
After that, Caelus glanced at Chad and then at the Shadow Halberd Guild members, who were looking at him in disbelief.
He then left the Golden Chamber. He was not leaving the market, but rather waiting for them to come outside.
Avni tried to stop them to talk about his upgraded tier in the golden chamber, but now was not exactly the perfect time for that.
"Sylvia," Caelus called out. "We are going to jump them."
"Yes," Sylvia nodded. "They seem like bad people. It will not matter if they disappear from the world."
"Um." Caelus was speechless. Why was his beautiful girlfriend thinking about murder?
"Cough. Depending on the severity of the matter, we will give them an apt punishment. There is no need for killing right away. We might end up looking like psychos."
Soon, the Shadow Halberd Guild members came out with Chad in tow.
Justin, the party member, hit Chad’s head with an angry look. "Who the hell was that? It seems like you know him, Chad."
"I do not know him. It is a fluke," Chad said with a forced chuckle.
"Tch. So useless, Chad. It seems like you do not care about your sister after all. After I do stuff with her, I will make sure to send you the video of it happening. Hahaha."
Chad’s face twisted in anger upon hearing this, but he clutched his fists together until they bled.
By now, Caelus and Sylvia’s faces had already turned cold. With a few strides, they arrived in front of the party. The Shadow Halberd Guild members wore startled looks on their faces seeing them there.
"What do you want, kid?" Justin asked in an arrogant tone.
However, before he could finish his words, a fist shot toward him.
Bang!
Justin’s face caved in as several teeth flew out. The sound of bone cracking rang out as blood and a pained shriek escaped him.
Phillip, enraged upon seeing this, immediately shouted. "What do you think you are doing?"
However, before he could finish his words, another attack arrived. It was a spear, and it plunged deep into his body.
Phillip looked down in dread. "What do you think you are doing?!"
As he exclaimed, he pulled the spear out. "Do you know who I am? I am a member of the Shadow Halberd Guild. Since you dared to lay a hand on me, you must be ready to take on the entire guild."
Caelus, however, stepped forward with a cold look. "So?"
Slap!
Caelus slapped him in the face.
"Look at you. You cannot even defend yourself. Are these the talents the Shadow Halberd Guild recruited? You guys cannot even deal with two people who are not in a guild."
"And what did you say about his sister?" Caelus inched closer, his eyes burning with anger.
He understood why Chad was acting so obedient and silent. It was because of his sister. Caelus knew her. They even followed each other on Engram and messaged each other sometimes. He treated her like his own sister. She lived in Manhattan with Chad’s parents and went to Manhattan High, the same school as these people. These fellows must have threatened Chad using her.
How could he, a good friend, let such a thing happen?
"Filth like you should not exist in this world." His words were cold and firm.
He utilized Star King’s Sword Vault. A sword rippled out of a golden circle and fell into his hand. He plunged it deep into Phillip’s eye, tearing it out.
A painful scream erupted from him. But, ignoring the blood, Caelus indifferently took his other eye. Blood oozed out. Then, he slit the man’s neck. Blood sprayed like a fountain as he fell to the ground.
By now, players had gathered and were looking in disbelief and shock. Chad looked at Caelus with a stunned expression.
The current Caelus and the Caelus he knew before did not overlap. There was no resemblance here. The person in front of him was a player who would not bat an eye while killing!
Sylvia was also on the move. A spear formed and plunged straight into Justin’s heart. The other two members were so stunned they almost wet their pants, but Sylvia eliminated them as well.
There were all sorts of people: the good, the bad, and the mixed ones who had both traits. The people in front of them were naturally in the second category: bad. They were just a waste of oxygen.
"No way. Someone eliminated members of the Shadow Halberd Guild. Are they crazy?" "They must be."
Sylvia and Caelus heard this, but they did not react. Instead, Caelus turned to Chad.
"Caelus..." Chad called out.
"You do not need to say anything," Caelus spoke softly. "Linda is also my little sister. They got what they deserved."
Chad became emotional seeing this.
Just then, a notification appeared in front of everyone.
[The domain is closing...]
Everyone’s vision blinked as they were ejected. This left only the native people of the domain there. Sighing, they went back to their work. The players might have gone, but they would still continue living and making money.
--------
Once Caelus and Sylvia came back, they looked at each other.
"Good work, Sylvia."
"You too, hubby." Sylvia came forward, caressing his face softly.
Caelus was not afraid of the guilds. This was not the Azure Origin planet. He would not randomly get bombed by a massive guild while sleeping in his apartment. This was Earth, and the powerhouses near him, including the military and police, were massive. Hence, he had nothing to worry about.
"Now that we have almost $1,800 to our name, we should get a new TV and also some furniture," Caelus smiled and spoke.
Sylvia readily nodded. They immediately got to work. They went to the nearest bank to convert their Origin Credits. They converted all of it. Sylvia had $934, and he had $904.
They bought a fifty-five-inch OLED TV for $650, which was on sale, along with more furniture and decorations. They also went out to eat at the Japanese place Sylvia had mentioned, which cost them $242 in total.
With that, their bank balances came down to $474.74 and $472.55. The former was Sylvia’s balance, and the latter was his.
Just then, he received a call. Seeing the caller ID, Caelus raised an eyebrow.
