Chapter 1314: Chapter 1353: My Husband

"Well... how about we go to the supermarket first to buy some drinks?" Mabel Quinn suggested.

"Okay!" The little one excitedly shouted.

Kyle Kinston naturally followed them to the supermarket. The three of them looked like a typical family of three, strolling around a large chain supermarket near their home after dinner.

Since the main goal was to buy drinks, the three of them headed to the beverage section. The little one picked out her favorite drink cans, and she picked five different kinds. Originally, she wanted to pick more, but Mabel Quinn had to persuade her to stop.

According to Ivy’s idea, she wanted to make a really beautiful wind chime.

Mabel listened and could only try her best to fulfill the little one’s wish. However, just by looking at the bottles of drinks they bought, she could almost foresee what kind of "disastrous" situation would occur later.

They also bought some snacks that the little one liked. When they reached the Cashier Counter, Mabel Quinn wanted to pay, but Kyle Kinston beat her to it and said, "I’m Ivy’s daddy, it’s only right to buy some things for my daughter."

That one sentence stopped her from saying what she wanted to.

With more than a dozen cans of drinks, it was quite heavy, but Kyle Kinston single-handedly carried them all. When Mabel Quinn wanted to help out a bit, he simply told her to just take care of their daughter.

As the three of them walked back to the community, they happened to meet a resident who knew Mabel Quinn. The resident greeted Mabel and couldn’t help but glance at Kyle Kinston, "Miss Quinn, this gentleman is...?"

After all, Kyle Kinston’s appearance was hard not to notice.

Before Mabel could speak, little Ivy eagerly said, "He’s my daddy!"

Daddy?

The resident was taken aback. This... daddy? Hadn’t they heard that Miss Quinn’s husband passed away? Could it be... a second marriage? Or maybe she’s someone’s mistress?

After all, Mabel Quinn had good looks, and in that resident’s eyes, the air Kyle Kinston carried, with that aura, it was clear he was either wealthy or noble.

"I’m her husband," Kyle Kinston said.

"Ah? Husband?" The resident was once again stunned.

"Yes, we got our marriage certificate six years ago." Kyle Kinston said calmly.

Instantly, a hint of embarrassment flashed across the other person’s face, and at the same time, they were relieved they hadn’t asked about second marriages or similar issues. They were indeed a legitimate couple.

And taking another look at Ivy, doesn’t she resemble this man somewhat? Especially those lively large phoenix eyes.

When they returned home, the little one started tinkering with the drinks they just bought. Kyle Kinston pulled Mabel Quinn aside and asked, "You won’t blame me for what I said to your neighbor, will you?"

"No, I won’t," Mabel said. "What you said is also the truth. If you didn’t say it, I would have. It’s better than letting others randomly guess and think negatively. I don’t want Ivy to be looked at with strange eyes." She continued, "Earlier, when Sister Han asked me about my relationship with you, I said the same. I suppose a lot of people in the crew know by now too."

"Is it just because of Ivy?" he asked.

"Yes," she replied, then walked over to her daughter to help sort out the groceries from the supermarket.

Kyle Kinston’s eyes dimmed, a self-mocking smile appearing at the corner of his lips. What was he hoping for? Hope that she would be willing to recognize him as her husband to everyone, that it might mean she had some feelings for him too?
