Chapter 1306: Chapter 1345: An Unexpected Encounter
It was Kyle Kinston!
Mabel Quinn had never expected to see Kyle Kinston in this kind of setting. Especially when... she’d just seen him yesterday, and now here he was again today.
"This is Mr. Kyle Kinston. I don’t think I need to say much more, you should all know who he is," Sister Han said. After all, Kyle coming to G City had been big news. And later, the story of him making the news because he’d saved Mabel’s daughter had made him even more widely known among the people of J City.
Everyone hurriedly said they knew, sitting down while casting puzzled looks at Sister Han, wanting to know why Kyle Kinston would appear here.
Mabel Quinn also found a seat and sat down.
Only, in the conference room the seats were arranged by seniority. Everyone attending the meeting had been in the business longer than her. Even though there were no nameplates on the table, people still consciously sat according to their seniority, from front to back.
So naturally, Mabel Quinn ended up sitting at the very end of the conference table, while Kyle Kinston sat at the very head, directly opposite her. The two of them were literally at opposite ends.
Even so, Mabel still felt Kyle’s gaze fall on her, as if he were looking right at her.
But thankfully, Kyle didn’t keep staring at her the whole time, which allowed her to let out a small breath of relief.
"Here’s the situation: Mr. Kinston has decided to add another 100 million in investment to our drama. And once the crew officially starts shooting, he’ll join the production as an investor and carry out some... uh, work and observation on set," Sister Han said. At the end she glanced at Kyle, and only when she saw he had no objection to her wording did she finally feel at ease.
An extra 100 million in investment was basically a pie falling from the sky for this drama. Originally, the show already had investment from the Han Group and Quinn Group, plus the initial funds. The scale had already reached 300 million, and with that kind of Money, they could naturally produce a drama with very high production quality.
So Sister Han actually hadn’t planned on going out to look for more investors. Who would have thought Kyle would personally come over to talk about investing? It had shocked and delighted Sister Han in equal measure. His only condition was that he be allowed to enter the crew at any time.
As for why he wanted to be on set, Sister Han had asked, but Kyle had only said lightly that he wanted to better understand the filming process and so on. That was obviously just the official line. She’d never heard that Elder Kinston had any interest in the film and TV industry before.
Everyone at the meeting wore different expressions when they heard Kyle was going to be on set. Mabel Quinn, in particular, looked over at Kyle in disbelief—only to meet his eyes head‑on.
In that instant, she suddenly felt as if she were about to fall into his gaze. His investment, his joining the crew... was it because of her?
"Mr. Kinston, is there anything you’d like to add?" Sister Han asked Kyle.
"Nothing else," Kyle said. "It’s about lunchtime anyway. Let me host today."
So the group booked a private room at a restaurant near the Corporation, and Mabel Quinn could only tag along. When they sat around the large round table in the private room, Sister Han sat between her and Kyle.
Sister Han came to this restaurant often, so she started recommending dishes to Kyle. Kyle gave a faint smile, ordered a few of the dishes she recommended, then added quite a few others on his own. Mabel Quinn carefully noticed that all the extra dishes Kyle ordered were actually in line with her taste.
