A few minutes after the light of pure power faded, a few dozen demons emerged from the earth, completely wounded and broken. The demon leader looked around and shuddered... everything had turned into a wasteland.
He and a few others only managed to survive because, at the last second, they used their mutated bloodline powers. They drained the life and power from all the other members to themselves. In the end, it wasn’t the golem and dragoness that killed them, but the dozens who did it to survive.
Far away from there, Alm and Bruno were excitedly evaluating the gains they had made.
The plan was simple: while he distracted the demons, the two of them would invade together. With their inscriptions and talismans, breaking barriers that weren’t made of Qi was easy. Then, Ruri would head to where the crystals and other important items were, while Runula went to the place where the treasures from mutated beasts were stored.
These demons were hateful and constantly massacred countless victims. Many of them had strange items—either something brought from their universes or found in this place. However, most of these items weren’t useful to the demons, who just kept them until they figured out their purpose.
Ruri showed an incalculable amount of those strange crystals. Then, Runula presented what she had managed to grab.
"What? Why so little?" Ruri asked Runula seriously.
Runula, embarrassed, explained that she took everything of the greatest value she found. Alm and Bruno, on the other hand, observed the pile of items Ruri brought. In addition to the crystals, she had stolen an entire medicinal field of Yin herbs, all the crystals, and anything she saw—random and seemingly useless items as well.
"Every grain counts; nothing should be wasted. You’re so naive and careful!" Ruri said in a composed tone.
Alm nodded inwardly, proud, while Bruno mentally muttered, ’Two bandits... with scoundrel mentalities. She was a pure girl; now she’s contaminated by you.’
’Birds of a feather flock together,’ Alm retorted, not caring. ’But don’t forget, I am you; when it suits you, you separate us, don’t you?’
Bruno didn’t respond, just sighed deeply and focused on the crystals. They stored all the metals and strange items in the inventory, leaving the herbs and natural items for Ruri’s pets to use.
"With half of these crystals, my little one, along with the two wyverns and three baby dragons, can elevate their bloodlines to the maximum," Huying commented lightly, referring to Lieson as if he were her son.
Yinou added: "Ruri has already absorbed everything possible from my bloodline. She only doesn’t get stronger because of her current cultivation. As she grows, my power will manifest in her more intensely. Therefore, these crystals are useless to her."
The whale nodded. They divided half of the crystals between Ruri’s pets and stored the rest for later absorption. Unfortunately, they realized it would take many days to absorb everything, and they couldn’t afford to waste that time. But Ruri’s pets could stay in the beast world absorbing without any issues.
After a day of rest, thanks to the energy from this place, the whale’s and Ruri’s bloodlines had fully recovered. Then, they moved on.
They attacked the central demon clan. However, in the colonies and other various territories, many demons from this clan were still present. Liumi, through the memories she had acquired, knew that it was possible the clan leader and several of their top cultivators had survived the attack.
They decided to move to a mine where the demons were extracting a peculiar metal. They spent an entire day analyzing the operation before intentionally creating an opening to be noticed.
Soon after, they fled. Once they left, they felt a hidden demonic aura manifest right behind them. As expected, it was a trap; the demons had asked for help from other mutated demon clans.
Obviously, Alm and Bruno didn’t need to do this, even Ruri, with her divine soul, sensed the hidden enemy. Still, they intentionally triggered the trap and fled, showing them they had full ability to escape.
The goal was to lure more demons from these other clans to try and deal with them, thus acquiring their memories. So far, they had no information about the test they needed to perform. Even if they couldn’t achieve this, with their memories, they could pay these other clans a ’visit.’
But days later, they noticed something strange. The demons began gathering quickly. When they thought they were preparing for a full-on attack against them, they realized that all of them were heading in the same direction.
Without hesitation, they followed and reached an area near a desert. There, they witnessed an unexpected scene.
All the survivors of the Corrupted Demon Clan were gathered, along with millions of other mutated demons from various clans.
’These are all the major clans with some demonic bloodline, master,’ Liumi quickly said, recognizing them from the memories.
The clans had formed a massive army. At the forefront was a single figure. It wasn’t an elder or the leader of a clan. However, upon sensing her physique, bloodline, and power, an overwhelming pressure took over them.
It was a demoness with fair skin, long red hair like blood, tied in a ponytail. Standing at three meters tall, her body was covered in golden scales. The aura of a primordial beast emanated from her.
’She’s a mutant who fused a demonic bloodline with some powerful primordial beast. She must be the most talented and powerful figure among them. All these clans united to place their hopes in her. They want her to lead them toward our goal,’ Bruno murmured mentally to Ruri.
They were too far away and couldn’t hear the conversation. But they saw the clan leader they had attacked talking to the demoness. However, she was just mocking and waving her hand. Then, a massive scythe appeared in her hands, which she pointed forward.
Seeing this, the demon leader just sighed, helpless. Soon after, another demon from a powerful clan shouted:
"Everyone, our celestial daughter is on our side! Release your power to massacre them! Offer them as sacrifices for our glory!"
In response to the demon’s fervent exhortation, everyone roared in unison. Soon, a bloodline rune appeared on the forehead of the demoness wielding the scythe. Then, an ancient and sinister aura radiated from her, filled with dense and fierce power.
Watching from afar, Alm and Bruno noticed a disturbing transformation taking place. Her eyes turned a deep scarlet, her power multiplied, and she seemed to enter a state of madness.
"Kill!"
Soon after, the demon army charged towards the desert, while roars echoed from deep within the barren land.
Suddenly, an army of monstrous beasts appeared, charging with devastating fury.
The two armies clashed, filling the air with roars that shook the heavens, and a chaotic battle unfolded, marked by brutal and relentless combat. Meanwhile, two hidden observers remained silent, watching everything closely.
The aura of the red-haired demoness was truly terrifying. It was as if a mighty beast, long asleep, had awakened within her.
Suddenly, a draconic aura rose to the skies. Ruri widened her eyes as she felt her own bloodline resonate. Yinou slowly commented:
"These beasts are all mutants, with traces of draconic bloodline. Their mutations are varied... but they seem to have united because of the dragon blood they share."
Basically, they were similar to Deryu. They were born with dragon bloodline in their bodies, but with some strange mutation. Then they were captured and brought here, but instead of killing each other, they united to survive.
Watching the monstrous army face the demons and not detecting any evil aura among them, Ruri felt the urge to join the battle. However, she knew that the demons knew the duo well, and trying to disguise themselves to fight was risky; any small mistake could turn the situation critical.
The desert before them quickly transformed. The ground turned red, and the penetrating smell of blood filled the air. It seemed like this was a recurring battlefield, the site of an ongoing war between the two sides.
Liumi explained that the demons were facing one of their mortal enemies, but didn’t know that these enemies were these half-dragons.
The two had an approximate sense of the locations of the other demon clans on the continent. With all the major demons fighting here, it seemed like a rare opportunity for a successful raid.
However, Alm and Bruno were no novices; they knew that something as obvious as invading the clans would be anticipated by the demons. Surely, the treasures would be hidden, and locating them in time would be unlikely.
Even Bruno refused to do it. Running to the clans, killing some lackeys, and grabbing mere leftovers? They weren’t interested in that. They only made big, suicidal moves, and coming out with little would be shameful to their pride.
*SLASH!*
A massive scythe sliced through the air, resembling a crescent moon shape, as it ruthlessly tore through the flying beasts in its path. The blow carved a deep arc through the skies, then split the ground.

The red-haired demoness executed the move. Despite its apparent simplicity, it annihilated hundreds of enemies. Those with draconic bloodline were all known for their terrifying physiques, but in front of this weapon, they seemed like paper.
’The metal of this scythe is strange...’
Alm reflected, keeping his eyes fixed on the demoness and analyzing every one of her movements. The moment the scythe cut through the air, a black light glowed at the tip of the blade.
’It’s not made of demonic metal and doesn’t have any aura of blood or death. I want it.’ Alm concluded coldly. ’These demons will be a good source of information. Let’s use one of our cards and eliminate all of them. Looks like Ruri also wants to see the demons dead.’
