The inside was as calm as ever; entering was simple. The human wearing a sinister armor and the succubus moved, choosing to follow the edges this time. Before, they had chosen the center since it was the path less traveled by people.

According to Yanson, the couple was always near the edges, focusing on eliminating enemies that intercepted those who triggered the exit formation. Their goal was to wait for these enemies to get injured in battle, try to capture them alive, and gather information. If Alm and Bruno had chosen the same common route as people from the start, they might have encountered them earlier.

The duo moved slowly, avoiding the sentinels. The distance to the mountain wasn’t actually great; if they could run full out, they would cross it in a few hours. But moving cautiously took them a week to reach the great mountain again.

They could use the same underground entrance where the seed was before; since it was directly below and there was no security there, they could probably reach the place where the egg was more easily if they dug.

But the problem would be afterwards. As soon as they took the egg, they were certain all the enemies in this world would be alerted.

The duo followed the first path, climbing the mountain. This time, Liumi saw her master stopping and placing pills and talismans on the ground as they climbed; he did the same in various distant locations scattered throughout this world.

Bruno thought with a sigh as they climbed, ’It’s a waste to leave so many good things here still.’

’We’ve already collected a few hundred. Since everything was linked to the formation, if we take more, it’s likely the formation’s energies will change, making it very clear something is wrong,’ commented Alm, but he felt the same about leaving so much behind.

When they reached the top, they entered one of the holes and arrived at the top of the great abyss again. The sword remained at the succubus’s waist, and it was the first time Les was there. They slowly descended the walls, and she saw the bodies meditating in place. Liumi explained mentally what they had discovered, and Les was intrigued.

After several hours, there was movement from above. The duo did the same as before, pretending to be corpses; Les obviously went into the inventory. A demon was brought by a flying beast and placed in an empty spot. In the end, he left without noticing anything.

They continued descending and finally reached the bottom, seeing the thirteen giant chains. Bruno and Liumi moved up the chain and climbed, while Les focused on feeling the flow passing through the chains.

Alm and Bruno were very upset about wasting so many things, so they chose the direction of another coffin among the chains. They arrived, and the succubus helped open it. Inside, there was again an extreme density of Qi, which they absorbed into the inventory.

Lying in the coffin, they saw a monstrous beastly figure. Just looking at it made their blood boil; it was a pressure coming from a terrifying bloodline. But it was just a miniature, a newly born dark black spider.

Around it, Alm and Bruno noticed small grayish threads, about a dozen of them, as thick as guitar strings.

’Hm... they seem to be made of steel and are extremely resilient,’ analyzed Bruno. ’There’s a connection to celestial laws in them. They can’t make a weapon, but they might be useful.’

They took everything without hesitation. As they prepared to leave, Liumi narrowed her eyes and sent a message to the whale. Les wanted to feel this body.

They nodded, and the succubus touched the blade to the spider. It took a few minutes before Liumi removed it.

’The soul of this beast is completely synchronized with the body, it was born that way. I’m sure this is a method similar to a divine fetus,’ said Les in the minds of Alm and Bruno.

Sensing their confusion, Les explained: ’A divine fetus is something very rare, appearing once every millions of years. It’s a being blessed by Heaven’s Will, from before there were missionaries. They almost always reached the immortal realms; my husband was a divine fetus of his time.’

’The queen created these bodies artificially?’ Bruno asked, surprised.

’No, this spider is a Dire Broodmother, a type of demon beast with a mid-tier bloodline in the underworld. But do you feel that it’s weak?’ Les explained softly. ’Using the egg from that couple as an example, it’s clear. The queen simply ordered the theft of newborn bodies with abnormal bloodlines, which are born randomly all over the place. She is then using some method to nurture their bodies, as if to create a divine fetus. The goal is even more obvious: to create invincible heroes who will reach the immortal realms easily.’

Alm and Bruno nodded thoughtfully. From what they know of the queen’s universe, she creates favorites and trains them to become heroes, making the whole universe hunt them. Now, with these terrifying bodies being generated...

’She trains souls in her universe, then reincarnates them into these bodies when she thinks they’re ready. Thus, she creates an invincible army. The souls that were born in these bodies are just something she kept to maintain the body’s stability; they’ll be discarded later,’ Alm concluded.

Both sighed lightly. Over infinite years, how big must the queen’s immortal army be? The difficulty of defeating her became clearer and immeasurable every moment.

With this understanding, they turned to their final objective. They didn’t want to risk opening other coffins and proceeded to the central altar.

It didn’t take more than two hours to get very close, and a dense sense of danger filled them. They simply ignored it, already knowing it would be very risky, but there was no turning back.

’This damn Heaven’s Will, why the hell did it make their child so terrifying? It screwed us over in countless ways,’ Alm spat dryly.

Bruno sighed. The answer was obvious. ’We’ll need to create an immortal army eventually. This child was nurtured to be something similar to a divine fetus. Having him with us, we can analyze and discover how to create something similar. We don’t have any knowledge about the immortal realms or how to get there yet. This boy is something that will be worth all the trouble.’

Alm just grunted dryly. Heaven’s Will was really manipulating them without mercy. They didn’t even want to build an army, but they were driven to it all the time.

They approached the altar carefully. Then they stopped and turned to Liumi. She nodded, approached them, climbed onto their backs, and crossed her hands around the neck of that body.

Alm and Bruno focused on the inventory. Currently, after reaching Wuji, they no longer needed to create tattoos on the bodies they used. They could create a simpler version with their souls and use almost their full strength.

Inside the inventory, they moved all the remaining pills and talismans. They had wanted to take some talismans to study, as they were very rare and had never been found in the queen’s universe; but now it wasn’t possible.

All the energies within them were extracted. They didn’t transform them into Qi, just dominated the elements inside and prepared. They turned to the egg ahead; there were no chains or anything around it, it was just sitting above a simple yet enormous stone altar, connected to the chains.

The spatial rune on the armor lit up, and in a second, the egg entered the inventory directly. The egg was obviously alive, but they could keep it in the inventory for a week without problems.

Instantly, a dense sense of death was felt. All the enemies in this world must be running toward them with intent to kill.

’Let’s go,’ Alm said, laughing coldly. Drawing his saber, he fiercely slashed the enormous stone altar where the egg had been.

Very quickly, a mocking and smiling face appeared on the stone. It was a very simple, rough drawing, but definitely very expressive.

Liumi, on their back, laughed cheerfully; if Les had hair, it would be standing on end now. They were really cheeky to even think of doing something like that at that moment.

’If we don’t start running now, it’ll be too late,’ Les quickly spoke in their minds.

"Running now is already too late. They’re coming from three different directions. No matter where we go, we’ll be found," Alm said, shrugging. "Liumi, it’s up to you."

She nodded, and he bowed. Suddenly, a multicolored power surged from the inventory and gathered into a sphere in their hands. Alm and Bruno focused, feeling the suppression hitting them, but it was a massive amount. They then aimed it down towards the ground in front of them.

**BOOM!!!**

It was a violent blast that struck directly between the ground and their chests, causing the entire mountain to tremble. The fearsome and ominous armor cracked completely. But they shot upwards from the abyss at high speed.

Liumi, in the succubus body on their back, was shielded, and that body and armor acted like a board. The succubus body had something very useful—an accumulated life force, which the heroine was gathering in preparation for the mission. She flapped her wings and controlled the flight, burning this power with the succubus bloodline.

Les was startled by their madness, but then took a deep breath. They really did it and reached the top in a second.

The human was covered in blood, but with the power of Faith in the inventory, Bruno restored his entire body without suffering much from the suppression, losing very little. Once they were at the top, they ran for the exit.

As they reached the top, Bruno focused. Then suddenly, the entire mountain lit up in countless points. The pills and talismans placed were explosively triggered.

**RUMBLE!!!**

The earth in a vast area of the mountain exploded, blowing dust and rocks into the air for a huge distance.

"Let’s go!" Bruno shouted, Liumi nodded, and they moved together.

Les now understood; hidden in their hollow rocks, they shot off with the other flying rocks, rolling down the mountain.

As they hid in the hollow rocks and rolled away, a large squadron of thousands of flying beasts and demons whizzed overhead.

They were all extremely powerful; not with non-existent cultivation, but their bloodline was very strong, giving them abnormal power. One-on-one, even without cultivation, they weren’t afraid of them, but if surrounded by so many, there would be no chance of escape.

But... they completely ignored the rolling rocks below them as they flew.

They entered the mountain, then saw the mocking face. Immediately, their minds entered a furious frenzy.

’You’re late to the party.’ Bruno suddenly triggered something, and an explosion erupted near where they were.

**BOOM!**

The enemies widened their eyes and turned, then ran in that direction without hesitation. But when they arrived, all they saw was a huge hole. Not a single person was in sight.

Fury clouded their minds, and everything happened very quickly. As they wondered what had happened, another explosion echoed in the distance, and they dashed off again.

Away from Alm and Bruno’s sight, after repeating this several times, they suddenly stopped, seeming to realize something. One of them crouched down and used their clawed hand to unearth a translucent thread thinner than a hair strand.

This thread was impossible to see unless you looked closely. The creature quickly found a talisman connected to it. It had clearly been used and was now discarded.

This was the leftover talismans and pills that Alm and Bruno had left behind. The pills were explosive fuel, while the talisman was a remote detonator.

Their salvation was having acquired so much from the succubus and their companions; now an escape plan could be put into action. Most of the pills and talismans had internal energies designed for many different uses.

Alm and Bruno didn’t care what each was intended for, they just chose those pills with the highest internal energy and connected them to a remote-triggerable talisman. The rest were burned beforehand to quickly climb the mountain.

First, they caused a disturbance to attract the enemies, then detonated a remote talisman. When everyone arrived at that spot, they detonated the second one, forming a cycle to lure everyone away.

Suddenly, one of them, covered in a dark aura, let out a furious roar. They knew they had been deceived. After that, they ran back to the first place, but found no trace of aberrations.

By the time they arrived at that location, several minutes had passed since the duo had rolled down the mountain and fled without a trace.

The enemy leader then took a blood-colored crystal and crushed it. Suddenly, Devil Mountain shook intensely, and a shrill alarm sounded in every corner of it.

After the alarm, countless beasts, demons, and different races swarmed out like hornets whose nest had been disturbed. Patrols filled the sky and land. In an instant, the whole world became turbulent as a powerful army swirled around.

At that moment, the duo ran as fast as they could.

This was completely different from when they arrived. Now they had no intention of hiding; they just ran as fast as they could.

By their estimates, if the enemies weren’t complete idiots, the first thing they would do is send their soldiers to seal the exit. But they had a limited number near the exit. If they wanted more, they would need to send assistance from other regions.

Now, it was a race against time. They had to get out before those reinforcements arrived. If they moved as cautiously and slowly as they did when they arrived, there would really be no chance of escaping.

Of course, those who could fly would arrive faster, but they wouldn’t be in such large numbers; those who ran represented two-thirds of the numbers.

The two were running swiftly when suddenly they encountered a group of more than ten leopard-shaped beasts. As these beasts appeared, they immediately attacked furiously.

"Kill them with full force; we can’t slow down!" Alm commanded, swinging his saber. Three of those beasts were instantly killed.

Liumi roared, moving her spear, and with a strike, they exploded. They couldn’t block them.

The two ran away, killing numerous waves of beasts and humanoids, trying to block them. It took four hours before they saw the exit. But when they did, Liumi couldn’t help but heave a cold sigh of relief.
