Alm and Bruno withdrew their souls from the demon, their minds dazed and empty. It took a while for Bruno to sigh, trying to alleviate the pain filling his chest, and then he muttered:

’Ruri... now I understand. Almin and many other things were manipulated by the Heaven’s Will. But regarding Ruri, we didn’t have clear evidence of her involvement. Now we know it was she herself who manipulated things for us to meet... the cost of this is unimaginable.’

Alm remained silent for a few seconds; he felt Ruri’s heartbeat, soul, mind, and life slowly returning to her body. From Ruri’s past words, after she glimpsed the future, the Heaven’s Will still communicated with her and commented on their existence.

Possibly, she was also a candidate missionary. And since time passes differently between universes, Alm and Bruno were already the last and there could be no new ones. But they couldn’t know at what point they were; maybe they were already incarnated for the second time. Or even still on earth during this period. The only certainty was that Ruri couldn’t live even 100 years in each incarnation before dying in the most painful way possible. She must have gone through this dozens of times, and even in this current life, she suffered from celestial karma. It was extremely unfair...

Bruno, sensing Alm’s silent thoughts, said with conviction: ’Well, now we’re with her; for some reason, she felt that we would get along and trusted us. We will never allow her to suffer more because of this. If we need to defy the heavens and the laws to end this, we will.’

Alm sighed, and then they turned to the demon, who was bent over, waiting for them to speak first. He was a bloodthirsty demon, much worse than his two brothers; but in the end, he decided to change... very similar to themselves.

Bruno spoke softly. "You helped Ruri a lot; even if it’s to repay, I’m grateful. Everyone should have the chance to start over, and you took your time to redeem yourself."

The demon lifted his gaze to the whale and felt his clear and strong connection with Ruri. He smiled subtly; it was as she said before, they would get along, but it seemed to be much deeper than that.

"Ruri... finally, I know your name," he spoke thoughtfully.

Alm and Bruno found themselves in a complicated situation now. They needed the three demons to fulfill their plans; it was for the blame of everything to fall on the twelve families and the demons. Now, they couldn’t turn this one into a puppet.

"Thank you, sir... I caused a lot of harm to everyone, but at least I managed to pay a part of my karma in this life..." The demon spoke calmly.

At that moment, Alm and Bruno reflected. He did much more than just help; Derek, the man who became Denil’s adoptive father, had a similar story. He received a great favor from Denil’s true father, but in return just abandoned everything and enjoyed the benefits without caring about anything.

That didn’t surprise Alm and Bruno; it was even normal. Whether cultivators or mortals of the earth, everyone just lived for themselves. Cultivators, who lived countless years and possessed unparalleled freedom, only inflated this even more.

But Yamar, he showed himself to be truly honest and worthy. He was freed and lived his life in pursuit of redemption. After so long, he saved much more than he killed, and the Grassrunner, ancestors of Liumi, only survived on this planet because of his interference.

’We need him... but we need to reward him...’ Alm reflected for a second. Then Yamar’s words before returning the rune to Ruri came to mind. Suddenly, an idea came to him, and he smiled sinisterly.

"Yamar, are you truly willing to compensate for the karma and the problem of your brothers?" The whale spoke seriously.

He nodded curtly, then his eyes shone as he glimpsed at the whale. He saw what the old Ruri saw; this being in front of him was someone who could change everything and reverse all logic. He spoke confidently.

"We three have lived in hell since we were born. I was fortunate enough to be freed, but they... if I can do something, even if I die, I’m willing."

"Great, I intended to finish you three off in the worst way possible. Still do... but if you help, the three of you can contribute to saving all life on this planet," Alm spoke coldly, locking eyes with Yamar intensely. "The cost will be your lives, but they certainly won’t be willing. So, you have to lead them, and because of that, the risk of your soul being destroyed is huge. Are you willing to never reincarnate again to be able to help your brothers?"

Yamar clenched his fists and didn’t think much; the answer flowed naturally from him. "Yes, I had the chance to free myself and live my life in peace, they didn’t. Only I can do this for them in return."

Alm and Bruno nodded. They had been very lucky recently, finding another genuinely good person willing to sacrifice themselves for others. They had lived for thousands of years and had never seen anyone like this... or had they always existed, but they couldn’t see and killed them all? Well, it didn’t matter anymore.

’Are you really sure about this?’

Bruno asked mentally, and Alm responded immediately. ’Yes, we have a brother. And we can’t let the bastard of the demon emperor keep the body. Let’s just swap them so he can live again from the start. We’ll pay our debt, if it weren’t for him, we’d never have met Ruri. Hardly anyone else in his place would have kept the deal.’

At that moment, Ruri gently woke up on their backs. The two quickly examined her thoroughly with their souls. Ruri would never have any resistance to them; they could freely search everything, even her memories.

They noticed all the changes in her and sighed with relief. Inside the Rune, there were only a few feelings and the self-created Dao. She would never remember the suffering she went through, just had something like a distant dream about something that seemed close to her. Later, they would tell her a little about it, but spare her from knowing too much. In most cases, not having memories of past lives was a blessing; she was now well and happy, didn’t need to go through those memories again.

’Master, the rune he gave me had a technique... very compatible with me,’ Ruri murmured through the array.

Bruno responded calmly, wanting to confirm something. ’Try circulating it a bit.’

Ruri gently got off his back. Then nodded, and with a thought, the air became heavy. The heavens immediately reacted, Alm and Bruno felt the laws watching her, and a celestial judgment was happening.

This confirmed everything, only the creator of the technique could receive a judgment. If someone else received the Dao, it would be considered only an incomplete Dao, and the heavens wouldn’t judge it.

The heavens now marked Ruri, and she became a candidate for a goddess, just like Rehvka. But her technique was created thousands of years ago, in another incarnation, without her even remembering that. It was very unique and peculiar, but still something created by her.
