Ruri levitated, radiating an intense golden power while holding the whale’s right hand, which remained silently by her side. Alm and Bruno couldn’t offer much help to her at this moment; everything depended solely on her and her understanding. In this instant, the little girl they carried with them on a whim became the key to something they couldn’t achieve on their own in any way.

Both felt something very strange at this moment. There were many emotions, but there was no lack of confidence in her. And this was certainly being conveyed through their intertwined hands.

Two hours later, spatial laws seemed to move frantically, but Ruri fainted, exhausted. Three hours later, she woke up, and a new attempt took place... this cycle repeated for a day...

After half of that day, all the spatial distortions that were still holding everyone in a prison moved. Everyone looked in awe as the rifts merged in a single direction, slowly forming a large spatial hole. However, Ruri fainted again, losing control...

Forty hours after Calirer was taken, Ruri opened her eyes and detached herself from the whale that was her fat pillow. She lazily got up, and when her eyes met theirs, she smiled confidently.

Alm and Bruno sighed. Ruri’s soul, thanks to the array and her mental power, was as powerful as that of a cultivator at the end of the Body Destruction Realm. In other words, her soul was close to the maximum limit a mortal cultivator could have. With a little help from Alm and Bruno, while sleeping, Ruri managed to maintain her consciousness and continue pondering the laws while her body rested.

"Thank you, Master. That man was very powerful, but I felt great hatred from you when I saw him. Those were your memories, weren’t they?" Ruri said softly.

Alm and Bruno transmitted to her memories of a companion of the hero from her universe whom they killed. He manipulated the laws of space and was troublesome to deal with due to his speed. Along with these memories came some other things. This was an extremely clear hint about their past, which left Ruri extremely intrigued.

The whale simply nodded slightly without saying anything, and Ruri’s heart raced. She had clearly witnessed a battle of astronomical levels that she couldn’t even imagine in her wildest dreams. And that figure in front of her, if he was alive here... does it mean that the other man no longer existed? Who was her Master, really? Many doubts arose in her mind but now was not the time.

"I’ll make it happen." Ruri turned, reinforcing her determination. She hoped for the day when the trust between them would be enough for no more secrets, for her to know everything about her Master.

The whale sighed and activated the hero’s rune again, making the golden power reappear in the world.

Almin and everyone in the group, already partially recovered, looked with admiration at that golden girl. Almin carefully observed that level of power that he couldn’t comprehend, even though he currently possessed the same power. Seeing the exchanged glances and few words between the two, a familiar feeling sprouted in him.

’This reminds me of those two... my brother and Isla transmitted exactly this sensation when we looked at them.’ Almin thought, then his mind clicked. ’Why do I remember him so often?’

Almin took a deep breath. At this moment, without realizing it, he remembered his brother and felt no hatred. It was as if the bad memories were being replaced by another figure.

Then, two hours passed, and Ruri was at her limit.

All the golden power faded, but she continued to command the law with only the basic power of the rune. Sweat covered her entire body, and her vision began to blur. But she didn’t want to give up and squeezed the whale’s hand tightly.

Alm and Bruno were already starting to think of some alternative they had overlooked. The emperor’s emblem on his body was tested, but it could only be used with the specific demon lineage. They were pondering if they could manipulate the remnants of the lineage in the dead body, maybe just a little. Combining that with Ruri manipulating the laws, they might create a miracle. But they snapped out of their thoughts when they felt a euphoric squeeze in their hands.

Then, they saw a round spatial crack, like a portal, emerge before them. It was completely stable!

They turned to Ruri and saw her smiling with tired eyes, then opened their mouths to say something. But Ruri simply jumped onto their necks, hugging them tightly.

"Good job. Come on, we can’t waste time," the whale spoke gently while stroking her hair, then turned to Almin and the others. "Once I leave, you’ll have to survive in this place on your own. Go back to the beginning of the realm and run as far as you can; things will get ugly soon."

Everyone nodded, and Ruri let go of the whale with a slight blush on her face. Then she took a deep breath, feeling her vision darken, and clenched her fist, advancing toward the rift, with the whale still holding her hand.

The coordinates were given to Ruri right from the start. She had to take them exactly to the center of the realm, creating a spatial distortion that would shorten the distance between the two points. On an ascending planet where QI and laws are more subtle, doing this with just the first spatial concept is relatively easy... but obviously only for those who master the laws.

Now, after Ruri managed to manipulate them, theoretically, she would become a cultivator of spatial laws, mastering the first concept. However, this only happened because she used the completely disordered and inert laws that the emperor left behind. She would have to achieve this in the outside world on her own; currently, she could consider herself halfway to truly being someone capable of using this law. But certainly, after this experience, she would be able to manipulate the laws as her cultivation advanced.

They jumped into the rift, and inside was a twisted world without color or form. They took quick steps forward, and Ruri staggered due to exhaustion. However, they continued to walk, and in a minute, space distorted again, revealing a world completely covered in ashes where you couldn’t see an inch ahead.

The whale placed Ruri on its back, and all the distortion unraveled forever. All the power that the demon emperor brutally commanded was used by Ruri, and now it was gone. She wouldn’t be able to do the same thing again. Alm and Bruno walked quickly ahead, using their divine souls as guides.

Ruri remained awake on their backs, feeling a spatial power that shook her mind. It was exactly where they were heading; clearly, there was another high-level spatial rune ahead.

The physical cultivation of the whale was pushed to the limit, and they ran through the ashes. Luckily for them, there were no defense mechanisms. After all, the entire realm was already a brutal and impossible place for any demon to reach just the third sector.

Then, in a few minutes, they reached a gigantic black rune. And next to it was a grayish core, the precise source of the spatial laws of that place.

The whale acted swiftly, placing the spatial rune directly in the inventory. Then, it ran towards the giant rune, and the law they themselves created emerged, infiltrating directly into it. Ten seconds passed.

CRACK!

The rune cracked completely. At the same time, in all the other three first realms, their runes exploded in sync. Soon, the greenish screen appeared, bringing a sigh of relief.

[Congratulations, side quest completed!]

[Do you wish to accept the rewards?]

[Yes / No]

’We somehow made it... no, thanks to Ruri. It’s good to have someone trustworthy,’ Bruno said, with the whale taking a deep breath. ’Now, it’s just about completing the main quest, and when we return, we’ll have time to go to his dwelling.’

’Yes.’ Alm mentally accepted the rewards from the side quest.

So...

Nothing happened...

Alm and Bruno stood petrified, dazed. Minutes dragged on...

They anxiously awaited the moment when the world would freeze and millions of celestial runes would surround them, as happened in the last three main quests. But... nothing changed.

They clearly felt Ruri’s heart beating on their backs; everything was normal, and a certain despair began to infiltrate them.

’The system... screwed up...’ Bruno muttered tensely.

Then, something began to materialize slowly before them, pulling them out of their stupor.

They were spatial runes. They were distorted in a very similar way to how Ruri used them, but it wasn’t the same concept; it was something much superior, capable of distorting even the space of the divine realm. Alm and Bruno felt the runes reverberating and realized that it was distorting something far beyond space; reality itself seemed to subtly shatter.

Then, after a minute, a round portal opened, and the whale trembled slightly, feeling the laws on the other side.

’That... doesn’t take us to another universe, but to the underworld.’ Alm said dryly.

’Damn, Heaven’s Will no longer has the power to take us to other universes. Freezing time is also impossible... though I don’t know which is more complicated,’ Bruno said, mentally shaken. ’We have to go... but we only have one day to complete the main quest.’

Alm swallowed hard, feeling Ruri on his back, who looked at the portal between his shoulders, completely confused. Then, he spoke with dry words.

’We can’t leave her here. If we take more than a day, the demon will read Calirer’s memories, and soon he will come to pursue us. He won’t find us, so everyone who was with us will be killed for information...’

There was no choice or time to hesitate, both thought. They took several days to complete the main quests before..., but now they would have to do it in record time.

"Let’s go, Ruri. We have to race against time," the whale said slowly, taking steps forward. Then, they crossed the portal, which quickly vanished from that world.
