A cold, almost eternal silence persisted among everyone present. Only the sound of space slowly twisting and returning to activity echoed. The spatial distortion, after Almin and Ruri deactivated the Divine Domain, began to recompose itself, absorbing the chaotic laws within the realm.

The three clans watched in petrified silence, holding their breath, in the direction of the whale. Meanwhile, the round being kept its penetrating gaze in the direction where the incredible being disappeared. However, everyone felt the heavy air and an extreme malevolent aura, worse than any demon, emanating from it. The vile and dreadful being that destroyed the life of a universe had its entire presence leaking uncontrollably, with only the purest intention of evil existing in those eyes.

Alm and Bruno, oblivious to everything, quickly pondered many possibilities, but the main one: they recognized that demon. He was one of the three demons who killed the former owner of the desert city, whose body and soul were also sealed inside the prison. (Chapter 124)

’It was indeed a demon in the Spirit Fusion Realm,’ Alm commented coldly. ’He was at the elementary level, and his divine soul was unstable and almost non-existent, similar to someone who forcibly breaks through the realm and can never cultivate higher levels.’

’He killed that demon, whom he called father with some level of affection. It seems that the blood in his veins is something astonishing, on the level of pure dragon; that was the key for him to reach this level of cultivation, even on an ascending planet. Again, something impossible to predict.’ Bruno commented, snorting dryly.

Alm felt the tightness on his back and remarked, ’It doesn’t matter now. He took Calirer, and he will quickly find out that it was us who robbed everything from the tomb in the prison and gave the blood to her; we will become targets quickly.’

Bruno focused on his faith rune and quickly felt the connection with Calirer. Thanks to the technique he created, he could feel all his faithful subordinates. And most importantly, he could transfer his power to them.

’Yes, we will save her,’ said Bruno, something Alm didn’t want to admit. ’Transfer the maximum amount of faith power she can withstand to the technique mark. The law will protect her soul; if he kills her quickly, that power will disperse her soul, and he won’t be able to see her memories. He will be forced to keep her alive and disperse the power slowly.’

’Obviously, when he realizes this interference, he will cut my connection, and I won’t be able to replenish the power of faith. Since that demon has an unstable divine soul, we should have at most three days until he manages to break the defenses and read her memories... But with that time, we won’t even be able to reach the end of the Realm of Ashes.’ Bruno added, emotionless.

The whale then moved and extended its hand, retrieving the demon emperor’s body; shortly after, they closed their eyes in concentration. Runula looked at the whale with extreme apprehension. Her mother was taken, and everyone heard that being with a nefarious expression say that he would torture her slowly. Calirer’s fate, everyone could imagine.

That demon was clearly something above the emperor... Something that could kill them with just a single thought... In their minds, only something at the divine level would have that level of power. And that was exactly what reflected in their eyes as they looked at that round figure.

Neither Runula nor anyone dared to say anything. The Cerberi and all those with demon blood trembled with excitement in the face of the new aura of the divine being. Before, he always emanated an inconceivable sacred power, but now, everyone could feel the infinite evil coming from him. If their faith was irrational before, now it has become something tangible and real. Nothing could compare to that presence. He could be pure and holy with his subjects but devilishly dreadful with enemies, something that made everyone admire him even more.

A minute later, the whale opened its eyes; the most important memories of the demon emperor were read. Then, Alm asked, ’You know exactly where she is, right?’

’Yes, she is on the opposite bank of the Realm of Ashes. This demon lives inside the Realm of Ashes to cultivate himself, and that’s his dwelling,’ Bruno answered thoughtfully. ’To get there, even at top speed, it would take us a month; it’s already impossible on its own. And even then, there’s no possibility of defeating that demon.’

’There is a way. But it doesn’t depend on us,’ Alm replied coldly. ’From the memories of that dead idiot, a little distance from where the demon lives is the core we need to destroy to complete the side quest.’

Bruno quickly understood where Alm was going. ’This is madness... But we can kill him if it works. The problem is the time; if we get there and Calirer has already been killed, I won’t forgive myself.’

Alm snorted and turned with the whale’s body to the silent girl on his back. "Ruri, we need you to save her."

Ruri, who was extremely worn out after using the Eternal Bond to kill the emperor, took a deep breath. "I will do everything the master commands to save her."

"Great, it all depends on you and your understanding of spatial laws," Alm said gently. "Thanks to the emperor, the spatial distortion is active uncontrollably. I will transfer all the power and activate your rune to the maximum; you will have to master this distortion around and use it in a controlled manner to take us to the center of this realm."

Ruri held her breath. Feeling spatial laws was easy; both she and Almin could do it. But controlling and using them was a whole different thing. It required knowledge, experience, and skill about the law... something she barely possessed.

"We have three days, or Calirer will die. Only you can do this, as the distance to her is too great. Do you think you’re up for it?" the whale spoke softly, and she trembled in response to the challenge.

"I... I will try my best..." She whispered, her words wavering in the uncertainty-laden air. How could she confidently claim success? After all, she had barely scratched the surface of spatial laws.

"There is no try. Either you do it, or you don’t," his voice cut through the silence with authority, like a sharp blade slicing through her doubts. "Your mind and your will are the keys to transcending any obstacle. Make it happen, or remain forever in the shadow of ’almost.’ Do, or never be."

Ruri listened and trembled slightly. Then, Alm sighed lightly and gently set her down in front of him. Their eyes met, and he silently conveyed his complete trust in her. Ruri felt a wave of warmth course through her body as they looked at each other, her feelings blending with the determination she saw in his eyes.

Taking a deep breath, Ruri reached out her hands to hold Alm’s large, round hand. "Master trusts me so much," she said softly, her eyes fixed on his, "I won’t let you down. Together, we will save Calirer. I promise." Her voice was full of confidence and determination but also carried a soft tone of tenderness.

’Your words reminded me of a certain green extraterrestrial from an Earth fiction movie. But, they’re exactly what she needed to hear,’ Bruno said mentally with a laugh. ’If a mortal can truly wield spatial laws, she has completely surpassed the greatest talent we know in our universe... and, I wasn’t aware of this charming side of yours.’

Alm just cursed vehemently. Soon, everyone who witnessed their exchange saw Ruri light up in intense golden power. The entire spatial distortion froze again, but it wasn’t receding... and it seemed to be even more agitated...
