That was a day that, on the surface, would be ordinary within the abyss. However, an immense commotion and stir among the two weaker allied clans of the abyss unfolded like never before.

An unprecedented spectacle was taking place. Calirer emerged out of nowhere and effortlessly defeated all the most powerful ones; now, she was going to fight the clan leader. Everyone who had witnessed her previous battles unanimously bet: she had a real chance of victory.

Thus, within the demonic arena, in the stands, all the strongest cultivators of the Soul Eater and Serpent Wings clans moved to witness this abnormal demoness up close with their own eyes. They were all part of the elite of the two clans, just below the counselors and leaders of their respective clans.

Everyone in the arena immediately marveled at the shocking duel. First, that demoness appeared, and she was immediately surrounded by all the counselors from her clan. Everyone was surprised; she had already fought against each of them individually and defeated them before. Now, they all surrounded her and tried to eliminate her together.

However, she seemed like a bloodthirsty and invincible demon god. With just a few movements, a rain of blood occurred. This demoness who had spared them before now killed them all directly. It was not abnormal among demons to kill the enemy in a duel, and faced with the overwhelming power of the demoness, no one was astonished that the counselors tried to defeat her together.

Shortly after, to everyone’s shock, even though she had a lower cultivation, the clan leader did not seem much superior to her. If they were at the same level, that leader would be defeated with a single move. It was at that moment that all the most powerful ones realized that something very out of the ordinary was happening.

Unfortunately, the unfounded confidence in their abilities and their clans led them to think it was just a slightly serious internal problem. However, returning to the current moment, everyone was now kneeling in the arena and realized the real gravity of the situation belatedly. Their souls were being devoured, and in that second, the consciousness of all of them began to fade away.

The clan leader fully activated his clan’s signature technique on everyone in the arena, still with a dreadful smile. He emanated an exotic and irresistible spiritual attraction power; it was only when the souls of everyone started leaving their bodies that he noticed something wrong and focused on the center of the arena.

There, his eyes narrowed as he glimpsed several new figures. But, a giant and round being stood out among them as if all the light in the world strangely converged on it. Then, looking into its eyes, he felt something that made his soul tremble. A palpable and inevitable sense of death.

The whale’s lips then moved, and its words sounded like a premonition in his ears. "You want my soul? Take a bit."

Immediately, an almost invisible and intangible spiritual aura permeated the whale. That aura was perfectly split. On one side, it was white; on the other, it was black. Just catching a glimpse of it made his heart stop. Soon, the whale raised its round arm, and a small strand of its soul wafted into the air, being drawn by the active technique.

’NO!’

The Clan Leader’s mind exclaimed without him thinking. His survival instincts alarmed desperately. That... was something far beyond anything he could imagine.

Then, he suddenly did something considered taboo for cultivators. He reversed the Qi and laws of his technique to forcibly deactivate it. Suddenly, the souls of all thousands of half-demons and half-wyverns returned to their bodies, and their consciousness stabilized with wide-open eyes.

The clan leader’s entire body trembled, and the reversal made him bleed from his eyes and every possible place. The internal damage from the sudden reversal was evident to all. Thus, those who were previously helpless and on the verge of death wondered. How and what could have put this demon in such a state?

It was a unanimous thought, but the answer came in the same second. Everyone felt their world spin as if a hammer had struck their chests. They almost spat blood but managed to turn their eyes in one direction, high above.

Then they saw a figure... it was round and peculiar...

He was in the skies and radiated a small cultivation, but at the same time, its density and pressure were so immense that they couldn’t gauge its real power. Its two hands were raised high, and in them, they saw a giant bone club.

Just looking at that weapon made their souls tremble again as if they wanted to leave their bodies once more; that bone brought an indescribable sensation. Then, the whale fell like a meteor, and its bone club descended... towards the clan leader.

As it fell, the world lost its color, and the entire space around seemed to fragment, creating small spiderweb-like patterns. Only a brief glimpse of a dozen wyverns appearing in front of that bone was seen... but... with the astral winds of that weapon, they instantly flew in opposite directions, completely red, with their scales and blood scattered through the air.

RUMBLE!!

The deep sound, like the roar of thunder, followed by a violent shaking of the earth, shook everyone. Then, the structure of the arena, made with the hardest black stones from the third layer, began to crumble.

Suddenly, everyone in the stands felt something warm and pure pass through their minds, freeing them, giving them a survival boost; then, they ran away amidst the chaos. They quickly managed to distance themselves from the epicenter, and most were unharmed.

A dust cloud rose, covering a vast area. Amidst the despair and escape, slowly, all the half-demons and half-wyverns, covered in dust, felt an irresistible urge to turn around. Then, looking at the center of the arena’s debris, they saw something rise and eclipse the light of the world.

The dust was partially swept away, and from the high skies, everyone’s vision trembled. There was a figure radiating a golden and transcendental presence. It was as if it were the embodiment of the deity that protects all forms of life. And at the same time, it was the embodiment of transcendental power and will.

Everyone felt their legs trembling... and no one noticed a subtle celestial blue aura dispersing from their bodies. After several seconds with blank minds, they recognized the face and form of that divine being—it was round and large... it seemed like an orc, but also like an ogre... or was it a demon whale? Everyone thought in synchrony.

Soon, on the whale’s shoulder, they noticed a small figure. It was a human! Then, all those with human blood trembled; next to this figure, there were also the weaker races. Soon, one thing became unanimous among them; this figure was like them, something that didn’t belong to any race, definitely a hybrid. But at the same time, it embraced all of them, like a true divine entity. And it was at that moment that everyone let their knees fall to the ground.

From the heavens, the duo remained silent, then Ruri saw everyone around her falling, and her face almost broke into a smile. ’Hold yourself and maintain an imposing posture, girl. We have to act convincingly,’ Bruno spoke mentally to her, and Ruri proudly puffed out her chest.

’You completely burned all the remaining power of faith and even used our entire bloodline in Ruri to maintain this golden aura around us. This after burning millions of crystals and our QI in a single blow. We lost a lot, and we won’t be able to replenish it anytime soon; this show may have condemned us very soon,’ Alm grumbled mentally to Bruno.

The dust settled completely, revealing all the wreckage of the arena below. Right below, in the center of everything, were all the group members with strange eyes. Looking around, they sighed lightly; there was no longer any trace of what once was the clan leader. This abnormal whale somehow managed to kill another being of a level equal to a patriarch.

Calirer took a deep breath and focused; she was completely renewed and looked tensely in one direction. In the sky, toward the gigantic mountain that stood out on the horizon, a black figure flew in their direction—it was the leader of the Serpent Wing clan. Then, a dozen black and bloodied figures rose in the sky, creating a circle around everyone.

’That idiot gave us an opportunity to hurt him when he tried to take our divine soul, and we used everything to kill him, thanks to the bone club. But now we are in Calirer’s hands; we have nothing left to use; let’s just stay here, posing as divine,’ Bruno spoke, a bit embarrassed.

’This half-wyvern has a thin lineage, but it seems to be the densest among all hybrids. His cultivation is equal to the other leader, but his physique is multiple times more powerful thanks to his bloodline,’ Alm analyzed coldly. ’For someone with a much lower cultivation like Calirer, it’s almost impossible to penetrate his defenses and kill him.’
