According to Langrum’s master, Calirer, the abyss goes through cycles of intensity in its laws. Only those with demon blood can survive there, but during a cycle every ten years, the laws reach their lowest intensity, allowing other races to enter. This cycle finally arrived, but it was still by no means safe. (Chapter 173)
The Bloodthirsty Light Sect had two black towers at its disposal, but descending into the abyss was dangerous even for the patriarch. Dividing their forces would leave the disciples and even the elders vulnerable. According to Almin, the three sects used only one tower each, entering all from the same sect, in the quest for survival in the first region.
Almin had only limited information about that place. The first region was where abyss crystals were mined, and even outside the cycle, it was possible to do so, but only in 10% of the total area. Now, with the entire location available and everyone together, mining could be done relatively safely, which was very beneficial for the sect.
According to the records, most stayed only in the first region, where, in addition to abundant ores, some incredible treasures could be found with luck and destiny. But of course, they had to bear the dangers, and that was the main reason why so many died.

Upon hearing Almin’s explanation while they were still in the desert, the whale and his group just nodded; at this point, they didn’t even need to ask the leader. These dangers were nothing compared to those they were about to face. The whale would go to the deepest part of that abyss without hesitation.
At the current moment, everyone in the group was moving slowly towards one of the black towers that was closer to the city; when they got a bit closer, they stopped. Everyone noticed a large number of cultivators around the tower. The whale’s eyes narrowed; that was not expected.
Alm and Bruno had only a general sense of when the abyss would be open; they certainly couldn’t determine the exact day, but they were sure that it wasn’t the first day of opening. So, they focused on feeling ahead with their souls, seeking some clues. Almost all the sect’s disciples were there, including the elders leading them in silence. In the sky, the high-ranking elders also awaited something.
’By the fluctuations, the patriarch must be inside the tower, and everyone is just waiting for him,’ remarked Alm, pondering a bit more. ’He must still be injured; the claws of that demon caused massive wounds on him. The curse power of a pure demon is not something he can easily restore.’
Bruno then recalled the first test for the disciples, which took place inside a black tower. As soon as they entered, everything was saturated with pure and dense Yin. Alm quickly noticed a peculiarity: the top is where there is more density because the whole tower functions like an antenna. It is receiving these laws directly from a higher place and converting them into something else. But everything is connected to the great abyss in the center of the seven black towers. (Chapter 84)
’If it really is an antenna, attracting Yin from the divine world, could the patriarch use it to heal himself? No, he doesn’t have that ability,’ Bruno analyzed calmly. ’The founder of his sect, the soul of Cerberus, must be behind this, helping him.’
Alm then commented, ’The bone club is very important to Cerberus. Even if there is a high cost, he needs the patriarch to be at his peak to refine the weapon to the maximum in the abyss and then use it as a body.’
’Why didn’t they just enter through the other tower?’ Bruno asked lightly.
’After we concluded that coming to this planet was no coincidence, I created a hypothesis,’ said Alm slowly, but with great confidence. ’With everything I felt inside the tower last time, and after almost dying when we encountered the will of the queen within the abyss crystals before, it seems clear to me that the entire abyss was created by the queen’s followers for some reason. That would explain the remnants of her power. Therefore, these towers are just part of a formation to keep everything running.’
Bruno quickly reasoned and concluded Alm’s thoughts. ’So Cerberus obviously can’t do anything directly with the formation and just diverted a minimal part of the Yin coming from the two towers to the patriarch. 99.99% still goes to the abyss, but the little that comes from the towers is the best healing for the patriarch.’
’The cost of doing this must be diminishing Cerberus’s bloodline’s connection to power. Thus, their entries to the abyss were obstructed, but if everyone is gathered waiting, it shouldn’t take long for him to be healed.’ Alm concluded.
The two focused on the next steps, reshaping their plans. The initial idea was to meet with the patriarch. Since he should have been injured, he wouldn’t have entered immediately. He would delay as much as possible to recover first. As almost everyone would enter the abyss first, the security outside would decrease. It would be enough to find him alone and force him with the soul contract to escort them and take them to some isolated area of the abyss. But now they wouldn’t have that opportunity; the patriarch would enter directly, and if caught by the high elders, things would be dangerous.
Alm muttered coldly, ’The entrance of the other black tower must be equally guarded by them. If we go through that one and get too close trying to enter with the crowd, the high elders will notice us. And to make matters worse, if we wait for another opportunity and time passes, the entrance on the inside is where the largest number of them will be present. Without the protection of the patriarch, we will be hunted and surrounded.’
’The only option is to enter as soon as the entrance is open. Maybe create a distraction?’ Bruno spoke without much confidence.
But in the next second, they felt the black tower vibrate, releasing a lot of Yin into the environment; the entrances were opened, and they wouldn’t have time to think. Bruno then clenched the whale’s fist, speaking mentally.
’We should send the group in safely first, then hold off the high elders. Using all the abyss crystals and our bone club, we can somehow create an opportunity to enter.’
Alm didn’t respond immediately, and Bruno found it strange. But in the next second, he had the answer; he felt directly in his soul a heavy gaze on them.
’What...’ Bruno muttered, and in the sky, a large movement occurred. Obviously, they were surrounded.
Soon, a thunderous voice sounded in the ears of everyone in the group. "Well, well. When he assumed that you would have no fear of returning and would want to sneak in, I didn’t believe it. I considered myself arrogant, but he was right; those from the divine world are proud and unrestrained on another level."
In the sky, the red figure, half human, half demonic beast emerged, looking down sinisterly and smiling.
