After the festive day, the evil cultivators dared not return to the city. Hundreds of powerful and influential cultivators died in vain. Certainly, some of the high elders stayed within the sect, but at least two-thirds of the main source of strength for these cultivators was destroyed in a single day.

The whale certainly collected all the spatial rings from those who came to deliver that offering at its doorstep. The number of materials now multiplied vigorously. Soon, there would be no shortage of resources for the dwarves to work on for a long time.

All the abyss crystals they had lost before were replenished. Then, they gathered everyone in the group inside the castle and burned a staggering amount of them in exchange for the purest Qi for everyone to cultivate.

Loeus quickly broke through two levels and crossed realms. Now, he was in the Foundation Establishment Realm, making Langrum proud. Ruri also managed to break through a level, stopping at the eighth level of the Qi Gathering Realm. She realized that she wouldn’t ascend any further, feeling a bit sulky. However, this cultivation at the age of 13 could shock anyone on a rising planet to death. This was only possible because her body developed rapidly, but it would still take a year or two for her meridians to mature completely.

Almin and Langrum advanced to the second level of the Core Formation Realm and stopped. They had to solidify their control over the core to advance; pushing beyond that would destroy their future. As for the whale, despite getting 70% of everything in the environment, it didn’t advance a single level. Having two types of cultivation and still sustaining the array was a weight that the whale couldn’t bear.

They consumed only a few million crystals and could force themselves to breakthrough, but they chose not to. Even if everything was consumed, by Alm and Bruno’s calculations, they would rise at most to the third or fourth level of the Core Formation Realm. The difference in individual power in the face of possibilities and the power they would have defending Ruri and the others using the crystals was significant. It wasn’t worth it; it was safer to keep them temporarily.

Soon, the months passed calmly. On a beautiful and peaceful day, Ruri managed to advance once again in mental cultivation. She reached the fourth level of the first lotus. From that moment on, they focused on the preparations for the plan, and she was essential. So, after the months passed, the group’s calm days finally came to an end.

In the center of the city, the main residents were waiting for the whale. They were about to return to the world of malignant cultivators, and after entering the abyss, it could take up to twenty-four months to return to the city. So everyone was concerned.

"The demon device is automatic; as soon as a few intruders step into the city, it will activate. It’s not invincible, and there must be some hidden things in the sects that, if stacked, can cut the puppet’s strings. But they are focused on the abyss; everything will be much quieter than usual around here." The whale spoke lightly to everyone who nodded.

In that farewell moment, Ruri approached Alnia and lightly touched her belly with sorrow. "When I come back, he should already be born."

Detue and Alnia smiled. After more than a year and stacking multiple Yang pills, they finally succeeded. It wasn’t just Alnia who was pregnant; there was already a large number of women in the same situation. It seems that, after Ruri’s birthday, they felt encouraged and safe to this extent.

Almin also smiled and received Detue’s mithril furnace. He was the official owner and would take it with him to make pills. As for Langrum, she now had a gigantic stockpile of Yang pills after all this time; but of course, she wasn’t satisfied. After all, pills had a very reduced effect. The more she consumed, the less effective the next one would be unless the next pill was of a higher level, which was impractical.

So they left in the morning, silently. Outside, the sandstorm continued extremely severe, and it would take a few more years for it to calm down and things to return to the previous level. This brought an extra layer of security for everyone in the city.

When everyone was near the entrance, the whale built a base. And there began the preparations that lasted two days. Ruri, using the sealing power after advancing in her mental cultivation, improved her power in large strides. She managed to seal completely the cultivation and presence of everyone in the group, so much so that even Alm and Bruno were impressed.

’This mental power is quite something. Besides preventing Qi from leaking out of the body with sealing, it also confuses the senses of people nearby so they don’t notice. If we don’t get too close to anyone powerful, they won’t notice us.’ Bruno analyzed, pleased.

The whale and Almin could use this raw mental power through the array, but they couldn’t use mental techniques. Of course, there was the possibility of studying the techniques, but that would waste a lot of time. The same applied to the laws of earth and fire among them; Ruri could use them, but in a raw manner. Thus, a legitimate cultivator was always essential.

So, silently, they infiltrated the world of evil cultivators from the back. Almin, Langrum, and Loeus had tense expressions; if the patriarchs found out and surrounded them, things would get serious. It was like entering the den of a hungry tiger.

But with the whale’s leadership guiding them away from any form of life, and all of them being unnoticeable thanks to Ruri, they approached an evil city without incidents. It wasn’t any of the three cities dominated by the Vital Yin Sect, and they circled around the entire time. It was a city east of the abyss, certainly the main city of the Bloodthirsty Light Sect.

The cities within that separated world didn’t need tall walls or guards. Thus, entering stealthily was easy; the problem was that they couldn’t avoid people anymore. But Almin, well-versed in the things of that world, had already visited the city before and knew a bit about the place, which helped a little.

As soon as they entered, Almin noticed the stark difference from his previous memories of the city. There was a great absence of cultivators, and almost everything was deserted. ’I’ve read that the last time the abyss was opened, for every ten disciples who entered, three came out. But all who returned became elders, if they didn’t die before; so, no one would waste this opportunity, no matter the risks,’ Almin murmured.

Also, according to Almin, there were only seven black towers around the abyss, and there were then seven different entrances to the abyss. There was no possibility of entering from another place; not even the founders of the sects would survive. And all the towers were of utmost importance to the sects and were clearly heavily monitored. It was impossible for them to sneak directly into the abyss.

So, the way for them to enter was through the patriarch of the Bloodthirsty Light Sect. Thanks to the dark elf and the soul contract he made on the other patriarch, this was their biggest card. Obviously, Alm and Bruno tested this seal before when the patriarchs visited the city. And Alm, using the tattoos, activated the seal and slyly erased the elf’s control over him, after all, that was a simple Yin seal.

That was a contract, and they couldn’t kill the patriarch through that agreement unless he didn’t fulfill his part of the deal. Thus, the agreement was to be introduced to a demonic clan and then to someone in the abyss. That patriarch would be obligated to allow them entry, or else the agreement couldn’t be fulfilled.

But this was only limited to that patriarch; things had to be done perfectly, or they would be doomed.
