Chapter 134: Changes! Sea Beast Breakthrough!

Chen Xuan frowned as he surveyed his surroundings. While carrying Chi Yao, he continuously waved his hand, sending sword lights in every direction.

The sound of flesh being torn apart accompanied each strike. The swarm of sea beasts below was swiftly annihilated.

However, this was far from enough to improve his mood.

Only moments later, new sea beasts filled the gaps left by the fallen ones, encircling the pair from all sides.

Chen Xuan was not surprised.

This was not the first time it had happened, and judging from the countless auras lurking beneath the sea, it would certainly not be the last either.

Looking at the trail of blood stretching behind him, carved out during their advance, Chen Xuan couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

Why had the sea beats suddenly rioted?

Their behavior near the island could be explained by the activation of the teleportation array.

But by now, they had traveled countless miles from that location and were drawing closer and closer to human territory.

The sea beasts should have known better than to attack them so recklessly.

Seemingly sensing his thoughts, Chi Yao paused briefly before speaking.

"Master, after we returned to the Tianxuan Domain, I visited several cities and gathered information about the Nine Origins Seas."

Seeing that her words had caught Chen Xuan’s interest, she quickly continued.

"I learned that beast riots occur frequently in this Domain. Most of the time, they can be traced back to three different causes."

Chi Yao raised a finger.

"One."

"Some kind of inheritance has surfaced, driving the sea beasts into a frenzy as they compete for it."

She paused before raising a second finger.

"Two."

"A human cultivator has ventured deep into their territory and slaughtered a large number of their kind."

The principle was the same as among humans.

If a bloodthirsty beast suddenly entered a Domain and began massacring cultivators and mortals alike, people would immediately flee to neighboring Domains in hopes of escaping the danger.

However, it was only after mentioning the second possibility that Chi Yao’s expression truly became serious.

She raised another finger—the third one.

"Third."

Lifting her head, she stared toward the distant horizon, as though she could already see the gathering place of the sea beasts.

Her voice turned solemn as she said the next words.

"A powerful beast has achieved a breakthrough. Whether out of fear of its aura or confidence gained from having such a leader, the surrounding beasts will pour out and attack anything in their path."

Chi Yao’s words appeared to contain a strange power.

The moment Chi Yao finished speaking, both she and Chen Xuan instinctively turned toward the same direction.

In the next instant, a powerful aura shot into the heavens.

A deafening roar followed, loud enough to rupture the eardrums of weaker cultivators.

A ferocious pressure swept outward from the depths of the ocean, covering hundreds of miles.

Although they were still far away, Chen Xuan immediately recognized its nature.

It undoubtedly belonged to a sea beast, and judging by its intensity, it was anything but ordinary.

Chen Xuan had only experienced such pressure twice before.

Once when he was in front of Qian Lingxue, and once while facing the zombie.

Even if the distant sea beast had not yet entered the Soul Formation realm, it was already extremely close.

Chi Yao’s speculation regarding the beast riot was practically confirmed.

Unfortunately, Chen Xuan had no time to dwell on the matter.

The sea beasts around them became even more ferocious.

Moreover, as though they had finally sensed the disturbance, the beasts in the sky also descended into chaos.

Hundreds of birds and other flying beasts appeared overhead. Some rushed toward Chen Xuan, while others sped toward the nearby human settlements.

The pressure on Chen Xuan increased noticeably.

Thankfully, both the beasts in the sea and the flying ones were mostly at the Foundation Establishment realm.

Only a handful had reached Core Formation, and even those posed little threat to him.

With a single strike, their bodies exploded into a mist of blood.

Even so, as their numbers continued to rise, Chen Xuan understood that the situation could not continue indefinitely.

If he didn’t do anything to break out, his energy would be continuously consumed until he was utterly exhausted. Even if the beasts had no such plan, it was highly likely that a stronger one would arrive.

Thinking of this, his gaze swept across the sea.

Then he glanced at Chi Yao before making a decision.

With a thought, the golden ring on his finger suddenly lit up.

It flew from his hand and rapidly expanded as golden brilliance enveloped it.

By the time the light retreated, the ring was nowhere to be seen.

In its place stood the Soul Formation zombie, its injuries having recovered even further.

Chen Xuan gave Chi Yao no time to react to its appearance.

Directing the zombie to carry both of them, he allowed it to clear a path while fending off the endless tide of beasts.

The zombie proved far more effective than Chen Xuan had been on his own.

With a casual sweep of its arm, hundreds of sea beasts were ripped apart.

Then, with a sharp inhale, their remains flew directly into its mouth.

As the corpses were digested, its bark-like skin gradually softened, as though it might one day return to the appearance of a living human after consuming enough flesh and blood.

More significant than the change in appearance, however, was the steady increase in its physical power.

The closer the unusual trio—consisting of one man, one woman, and one zombie—drew to Starlink Island, the greater the number of beasts they encountered.

Yet despite the mounting opposition, their speed only increased, matching the rise of the zombie’s own power.

Within a matter of minutes, they had arrived above the island.

However, the moment Chen Xuan and Chi Yao looked down at the familiar land below, their expressions immediately changed.

The Starlink Island had changed...
