Chapter 82: Going to the Aether Organization
Ren and the others went to a famous restaurant and had dinner together.
Like usual, they took several photos and shared it in the group.
Once they finished eating, they didn’t leave immediately since they wanted to enjoy the moment first.
At 09:30 pm, Virelia sent them home.
The following morning, they practiced together in his private training ground.
This time, Ren joined the spar.
Since he was much stronger than Elara and the rest, Cassandra made them fight him together.
But even so, they still could not take him down, as he became extremely tough when he used both magic and innate abilities.
At the same time, in the Nexus Organization, Ryven was talking to a young girl in his office. The young woman had long silver hair and golden eyes.
Despite having a beautiful face, she had never had a lover in her life.
She only cared about strength, so whenever a man tried to flirt with her, she would beat him up until he fell unconscious.
This was also the reason why she had no friends either because her image as a cruel woman overshadowed her beauty.
They even gave her the nickname Ruthless Mage.
Of course, she paid no heed to it.
Strength was everything to her, so she was indifferent to anything as insignificant as love or friendship.
"So, you want me to challenge their strongest new member and humiliate them in their place?" Alice’s expression didn’t change in the slightest, but deep inside, she was boiling with hatred and anger.
She would not mind if it were a friendly match, but here, he wanted to use her as a tool to avenge his disciples.
"Yeah." Ryven didn’t deny it. "You are our strongest new member. If you can beat theirs, it will prove that we are better than them."
Alice felt even more disgusted when he hid his true intention behind their reputation.
But even so, she could only suppress her anger.
She was a member of the Nexus Organization, so one of her duties was to maintain the image of her faction.
"Don’t worry. I won’t borrow your strength for free. I will grant you one wish if you win the battle later." He could tell that she was unhappy with the mission given to her, so he tried to cheer her up.
"Alright." She agreed because she had no other choice.
It was the First Elder’s request.
She would have a hard time in the organization if she dared to refuse.
"Great!" Ryven smiled happily. "Get ready. We will depart in thirty minutes."
Alice bowed her head slightly before finally leaving his office. The moment she closed the door, she clenched her fist in fury.
’I will become a powerful mage and form my own faction!’
----
Aether Organization, Ren’s Private Training Ground.
"You are a monster, Ren!" David stated.
David, Lily, Elara, and Virelia were lying on the ground. Despite facing Ren at once, they still lost in the end.
Of course, none of them were heavily injured.
It was only a spar, so he avoided attacking their final areas.
"I agree! Ren is indeed a monster!" Lily had faced many people before, but none of them could compare to him.
The way he fought was too good for someone his age.
It was as if he were an old man with hundreds of years of fighting experience in a young boy’s body.
"Should we tie him to a chair and inspect his body?" Virelia joked around. "Maybe he is a monster wearing human skin."
The corner of Ren’s lips twitched. "Zara, do you want me to punish you?"
Virelia placed her hands on her hips and put on a challenging expression. "Go ahead. I dare you."
"Do it, Ren. Do it. Spank her until she begs for forgiveness." David joined the fun.
Virelia instantly turned to David.
"Wh-why are you suddenly looking at me like that?" David suddenly had a bad feeling.
The moment she rushed toward him, David quickly rose to his feet.
"Zara, I only told him to accept your challenge. Why do you want to hit me?" David ran around the training ground.
"Shut up!" Virelia raised her stick high. "Stop running and let me hit you. Otherwise, you are not a man!"
"What does that have to do with this?" David turned to Ren. "Ren, help me."
"Hehe." Ren and the others giggled happily.
Shortly after that, they took a shower.
At 11:45 am, they ate lunch together.
While they were enjoying their meal, people from the Nexus Organization arrived.
The members guarding the gate wore displeased expressions when they saw Ryven and the others.
But even so, they didn’t attack them.
Ryven arrived with a letter, so they assumed he was representing the Nexus Organization on important business.
"Follow me. I will take you to our leader," the blue-haired man said in an unfriendly tone.
Ryven and the others were unhappy with his behavior, but they didn’t say anything and only followed him from behind.
At the same time, Aria was talking with Cassandra in her office. Aria had several questions about Ren’s group, so she immediately called Cassandra.
"How strong is he when he uses magic and innate abilities?" Aria asked curiously.
"Much stronger, like there are two of him," Cassandra replied. "I asked him to face David and the others at once before, but he was still able to defeat them."
"Oh?" Aria was pleasantly surprised. "Do you think he can fight a 2-star awakener on equal footing?"
Normally, she would not ask such a question because it was something she had never heard of before.
When facing an opponent above their rank, at most, they could only last three attacks before going down.
In the awakener world, a single rank difference was already a massive gap.
Without external help like artifacts, it was impossible for them to defeat someone above their rank.
But they should not compare Ren to ordinary awakeners.
He was someone who had awakened both paths, a special one who could use magic and innate abilities together.
This was the reason why she asked that question since Ren had been showing something extraordinary so far.
"I’m not sure about this, but I can confidently say that he is invincible at the same rank," Cassandra replied. "Leader, should we have him spar with a 2-star shifter? I think it would be great to test his limits."
"We need to discuss this wi-" before Aria had finished her words, the sound of someone knocking on her door echoed in her office.
"Leader, people from the Nexus Organization are requesting to meet you," the blue-haired man said politely.
Cassandra’s lips curled up into a grin. "Our dear friends have finally arrived."
She was thrilled as it was a good opportunity to get free money.
"Let them in." Even though Aria was also delighted, her expression was still the same.
The blue-haired man carefully opened the door.
Once Ryven and the others had stepped into her office, he closed the door and returned to his post.
"Oh, isn’t this Ryven? What brings you to our place? Have you come to challenge us?" Cassandra pretended as if she didn’t know anything.
Ryven glanced at her briefly before shifting his gaze to Aria. "Leader Aria, here is a letter for you."
Aria immediately opened the envelope. "First Elder? Not your leader?"
"You have some guts coming to our place without your leader’s permission, Ryven." Cassandra previously thought it was from their leader.
"My leader is currently away and will return tomorrow," Ryven replied. "I believe we’ve shown proper intent by bringing an official letter from our First Elder as proof of authorization."
Aria put the letter on her desk. "So, what brings you to my place?"
"The purpose of our arrival is to take back my disciples’ space rings." Ryven didn’t bring up the topic of sparring immediately as this was more important in his eyes.
"Space rings?" Cassandra pretended to be surprised once more.
"Ren and his group took our space rings," Axel spoke abruptly. "We want it back."
"Oh? Something like that happened?" Cassandra’s lips curled up into a mocking smile. "Does that mean Ren’s group beat you up and took your stuff?"
Ryven was enraged when he saw her expression, but he suppressed his anger. "They used a dirty method. Otherwise, it was impossible for my disciples to lose."
"Haha." Cassandra laughed. "Were you there when they fought? How could you know Ren’s group used dirty methods?"
She then continued, "Wait! Don’t tell me, you blindly believe their words?"
"I’m their instructor. They would not lie to me." Ryven still believed their words. "Why don’t you call them here? We can hear the story from their perspective, too."
Cassandra turned to Aria.
"Go call Ren and his group," Aria said.
"Understood," Cassandra replied. "You wait here, Ryven. I will bring them over quickly."
At the same time, Ren was chatting happily with Elara and the others. They were still unaware of what was going on since they were always in his private training ground.
"Guys, how about we buy some games later?" David asked. "We can play them when we have free time like this. I’m sure it will make our time more fun."
"Good idea!" Lily agreed instantly.
"Then, let’s buy it af-"Virelia stopped her words halfway when she saw Cassandra. "Instructor Cassandra, you are back?"
"Guys, let’s go to the leader’s office now. Something interesting is happening there." Cassandra didn’t explain further as it was better for them to see it for themselves.
"Something interesting?" Lily and David tilted their heads.
"Let’s go." Virelia could not suppress the curiosity in her heart.
"What is it, Instructor Cassandra? You’re making me curious." Ren said.
"Just be patient. You will know about it soon." Cassandra refused to answer.
"You are so secretive," Ren replied.
The moment he stepped into Aria’s office, his eyes widened for a moment.
’It’s them?’
