Chapter 81: Amazing
Instead of answering her question immediately, Ren raised his right hand.
’Lightning Bolt.’
A blue magic circle appeared before his palm, and in an instant, a bolt of lightning burst out, hitting the ground and leaving a small hole.
*Silence...
The entire area suddenly turned into a dead silence.
Virelia widened her eyes in disbelief.
She had never heard or seen any mage who could master magic in half a day. Even a genius needed a few weeks to achieve it.
Yet here, Ren could do it in just half a day.
No!
It was not even half a day yet.
They started training at 08:30 am, and now, it was still 04:20 pm.
In other words, it only took him eight hours to master it.
Eight hours!
If mastering it in a few weeks could already earn someone the title of genius, then what about him?
A genius among geniuses?
Or a top genius?
No!
Neither title fit him since his achievement had never even been heard of before.
Monster!
Yes, this was the fitting title for him.
Only this title was perfect for him because his achievement was like a story from a fairy tale.
David and Lily’s jaws dropped in surprise.
They previously had the same thoughts as Virelia since mastering magic was completely different from studying an elementary school textbook.
Never had it crossed their minds that he would master it in just a few hours. Now, they finally realized that Ren was far more extraordinary than they had ever expected.
Like Lily and David, Cassandra was also stunned.
She even stood frozen like a statue since she had just witnessed something unbelievable.
’Amazing! Incredibly amazing!’
Her lips curled up into a wide grin.
She didn’t know how to express her feelings.
But if she had to put it into words, she would say she had just found a special gem, a one-of-a-kind treasure in the world.
Unlike Virelia and the others, Elara’s expression didn’t change in the slightest.
She knew Ren could master it, so she was not surprised at all. After all, she had known how incredible he was.
"Zara, I won, right?" Ren looked calm on the surface, but he was thrilled deep inside.
It was like they had acknowledged his hard work and praised him silently.
Virelia came to her senses upon hearing his words.
"Ehm!" she pretended to clear her throat. "Not bad! Worthy of being my junior."
Elara covered her mouth and giggled softly while David and the others laughed while holding their stomachs.
Ren was speechless at her behavior.
He didn’t expect her to be so shameless like that.
’She is really unique!’
He said in his head.
"Tell me, what do you want?" Virelia admitted her defeat.
Before Ren could answer, Lily and David said in unison, "Food! Food! Food!"
Elara didn’t say anything, but from her sparkling eyes, anyone could tell that she supported them.
The corner of Ren’s lips twitched as he saw them.
’They really love food!’
After seeing their expressions, he decided to grant their wish.
"Food!" Ren also thought it was not a bad choice as it could make them happy.
Lily and David immediately gave him a thumbs-up. "You are the best, Ren!"
"Un, un." Elara nodded.
"Hehe." Virelia could not help but giggle. "Alright. Let’s take a shower now. We will go to a restaurant after that."
"Great!" Lily and David shouted happily.
"Then, I will leave now." Cassandra decided not to go with them.
"Instructor, you’re not coming with us?" Lily said in surprise.
"I still have some business to take care of." Cassandra wanted to go to Aria’s office. "We will eat together next time."
After she left, they headed to the bathrooms.
"Leader, are you inside?" Cassandra knocked on the door with an excited expression.
Aria, who was reading a report, replied, "Come in."
Cassandra stepped into her office and stood before her. "Leader, I have something amazing to tell you."
"What is it?" Aria asked while reading the document.
"Ren mastered the Lightning Bolt magic in just eight hours." Cassandra went straight to the point.
Aria stopped reading the report and looked up at her. "Eight hours?"
"Yes." Cassandra began explaining everything.
The more Aria listened to the story, the more surprised she became.
She had met many genius mages before, but none of them could master magic in just eight hours.
"If you don’t believe me, you can ask Virelia and the others. They were there, too." Cassandra was not surprised by Aria’s reaction.
"Are you sure he hasn’t mastered it before?" Aria asked.
"Virelia said it was a spell book from Axel’s space ring." Cassandra believed Virelia was not lying to her.
"I see." Aria finally understood the reason why Ren took Axel’s space ring.
"Leader, we must support him fully." Cassandra didn’t want them to waste his talent for magic.
Ren was their member.
The stronger he was, the more it benefited their organization.
"You know we are the pillar organization of the best transformation path, right?" Aria could not hire a powerful lightning mage for him, as it would ruin their reputation, especially when she recalled the relationship between the two paths.
"Then at least we should give him money or spell books." Cassandra didn’t give up and still wanted to help him.
"You can enter the gate with him or let him take another mission." Aria suddenly remembered Axel. "As for money, people from the Nexus Organization will ’generously’ give us plenty later. If we are lucky, we might even get spell books as well."
Cassandra’s lips curled up into a grin. "Ah, that’s right! We will have ’friends’ coming soon."
"Alright. You can leave now." Aria was still busy, so she didn’t want to be disturbed any longer.
Cassandra listened to her immediately.
But before she closed the door, she said, "Leader, you should get out more often. You will be stressed if you are always in your office."
Once Cassandra left, Aria leaned back in her chair.
’Maybe she is right. I’ve been feeling really drained lately.’
She looked at the mountain of papers on her desk before finally letting out a deep sigh.
At the same time, in the Nexus Organization, Ryven stood in front of their leader’s office. He had been knocking on the door, yet no one answered him.
’Is she not in her office?’
A question flashed through his mind.
Just as he was about to leave, a voice suddenly rang out. "Ryven, leader went out to meet someone. What business do you have looking for her?"
The moment Ryven turned his head toward the source of the sound, he saw an old man walking toward him.
The old man had white hair and green eyes.
His name was Maldris, a 5-star mage and the first elder of the Nexus Organization.
"Elder Maldris, this is about my disciples." Ryven began explaining everything.
Maldris’ expression darkened as he listened to the story.
The more he listened, the angrier he became.
When Ryven said Ren’s group had taken his disciples’ space rings, he could not suppress himself anymore and exploded in rage.
"How dare they!" Maldris clenched his fist in fury. "So, you want permission to go to their organization to seek justice for your disciples, right?"
"Yes," Ryven replied. "I want to take back their space rings."
"But leader said she won’t be back for two days, so you have to wait." Maldris met their leader earlier.
"Two days?" Ryven’s expression turned impatient.
’That’s too long. What should I do?’
He wanted to go to the Aether Organization immediately.
If he waited for two days, their space rings might already be empty. He didn’t want Ren’s group to enjoy the fruits of his disciples’ hard work.
"How about you go to their place with my recommendation? I will write a letter for their leader to make sure you can return safely." He was the first elder of the Nexus Organization, so he believed Aria and her subordinates would respect him.
Even if they clashed later, at least they would not kill Ryven and his disciples.
"Yes, Elder Maldris. Let’s do that." Ryven agreed right away.
"Let’s go to my office now," Maldris said.
Ryven nodded before finally following him.
A moment later, they arrived.
Once he finished writing the letter, he sealed the envelope with his stamp so that they knew it was genuine.
"Here." Maldris handed it over to Ryven.
"Thank you, Elder Maldris." Ryven stored it in his space ring.
"When are you going to their place?" Maldris asked.
"Tomorrow morning." It was already late afternoon, so Ryven thought it was not the best time to visit the Aether Organization.
"Why don’t you bring Alice with you tomorrow? Challenge their strongest new member and humiliate them in their place. I’m sure it will be an interesting sight for you." Maldris wanted him to teach them a lesson.
Maldris chose Alice Riley since she was their strongest new member. She could kill four magical beasts during the test.
If she wanted to, she could have probably killed five, but she stopped at four since no participant had managed to kill more than three.
She was already guaranteed to be ranked first, so she decided not to fight anymore.
Ryven’s lips curled up into a grin. "You are right, first elder. We must teach them a lesson for what they have done."
"Just call me if something goes wrong. I will handle it," Maldris said. "As for the leader, don’t worry. I will help you explain everything to her later."
"Thank you, Elder Maldris." Ryven thanked him once more for his support.
"You can leave now," Maldris replied.
Then, Ryven left.
