Chapter 836: Chapter 830: Retribution of Cause and Effect 2
Whitney Lynch collapsed onto the ground, retreating in terror.
Her hands clutched her already purplish-red neck as she coughed violently, breathing frantically.
In that state, the more disheveled she appeared, the more pitiful she was.
At this moment, Sean Thorne gradually came back to his senses and looked down to see Tiana Thorne squatting on the ground. She raised her eyes to him, just like when she was a child.
It seemed as if he was her everything, her most trusted father.
A sudden rush of emotion hit him, and his eyes reddened, as silent tears fell.
Tiana Thorne lived for a thousand years, not knowing what family love was, but in this life, she understood that it was a bond that could never be severed.
Tears welled up in her eyes too, and she softly said, "Dad, please don’t do anything foolish, okay?"
If her dad ended up in jail for killing Whitney, what meaning would today’s confession have?
She would never be happy in her lifetime.
Sean Thorne gradually calmed down, realizing how dangerous his actions had been, striking fear into those who loved him.
He looked at her for a long time, with his head lowered.
Although she had become more and more graceful, her eyes and brows hadn’t changed since she was a child, especially the way she looked at him, like a warm little sun.
For a moment, his confusion turned into pain.
He swallowed, but the feeling of pain in his heart wouldn’t dissipate.
This was Tiana, his daughter.
Even though they didn’t share a blood relationship, she was the daughter he had lovingly raised.
She had given him so much warmth and joy, which couldn’t easily be erased, nor could it be forgotten with a mere statement of not being related by blood.
They say parents give their children immense, unrepayable love, but in his eyes, the love a child gives back surpasses anything else.
When she was young, he was her everything.
In her heart, there was no one else, only her dad, whom she cherished and loved, giving him the purest moments of her childhood.
She could unreservedly express her love for him, with endless "I miss you" and "I love you," voices at every stage of her life echoed in his ears.
On numerous nights, when pressure suffocated him, it was her call, her soft "Dad," that dispelled all his heaviness and discomfort.
Finally, he moved, crouched down, and gently held her shoulders, helping her up.
He swallowed again, and after a while, he said, "Before, I kept telling you, the ground is cold, don’t sit on it too often, you might get a rash."
Tiana’s restrained tears became uncontrollable at his simple words and she threw herself into his arms. "Dad."
Sean Thorne placed his hand on her back, yet couldn’t utter a word.
May Sloane also cried.
In her memory, the last time Tiana cried was when she was boycotted, but this time, her tears were from genuine emotion.
Whitney Lynch watched this scene, finding it unbearably glaring.
Everyone knew that Tiana Thorne wasn’t his biological daughter, so why was he still so good to her?
Georgia Thorne kept gently patting her mother’s back, soothing her.
Once Sean Thorne steadied himself, he gently pushed her away from his embrace, gazing at the tears in her eyes.
After Tiana recovered from her illness, she seldom cried.
Perhaps, in some reckless moment earlier, he took away her sense of security.
So, he didn’t let go of his hands from her shoulders.
