Chapter 367: Chapter 328: Cooperation?

The dim yellow light filled the dark corridor with a terrifying atmosphere. The Black Cat stood on the lamp’s fixture, its eyes filled with confusion as it watched the human before it.

It had told her the truth about where the Head Nurse was, but the Black Cat hadn’t thought this human would be able to see the door, let alone open it.

And now, it was watching with its own eyes as this human walked out of that very door.

She strolled out casually, as if she were just taking a walk.

The darkness in the Black Cat’s gaze dissipated, replaced by pure, uncomprehending confusion.

"How were you able to go in, and then come back out?"

In human terms, she could come and go as she pleased. This defied its understanding of reality.

Wen Ying wasn’t offended by the Black Cat’s question. Instead, she asked back, "Why shouldn’t I be able to?"

Who knew the Black Cat would just purse its lips and stop talking.

It stared at Wen Ying for a moment, then, apparently finding her boring, turned to run off again.

Wen Ying didn’t stop it.

After watching the Black Cat disappear, Wen Ying left the castle. She found a stool in the courtyard, sat down, and began to review everything that had happened so far.

’The cockroach monster’s death seemed to be a huge blow to the Head Nurse, but then again, maybe not?’

’At least, when I went over there, the Head Nurse had already lost the will to fight me to the death.’

’The note I found also seems to be related to the Head Nurse.’

’Is this matter important?’

’If the Head Nurse’s name is Zheng Yao, then who would dare to shout her name in the asylum?’

’A distinguished guest? The asylum director?’

’Or maybe some other terrifying entity.’

Her stomach rumbled. Wen Ying decided to have the cafeteria make her some refreshments. ’I can’t be expected to work here and have to use up my own snacks, can I?’

With that thought, Wen Ying got up and headed for the basement.

Wen Ying was rather dissatisfied with the cafeteria’s location in the basement.

’The location is terrible, which makes for a poor environment in the cafeteria. How can anyone be in a good mood while eating here?’

Ever since the cockroach monster’s final death, the cafeteria employee had been treating Wen Ying like a distinguished guest.

Wen Ying’s order arrived quickly.

But the employee had a miserable expression on his face, as if he were about to cry.

Seeing that Wen Ying didn’t seem to want to speak with him, the cafeteria employee could only whimper and leave.

’Of course he wouldn’t dare to proactively disturb this powerhouse!’

’This was someone who’d dared to obliterate a supervisor!’

Wen Ying was enjoying her afternoon tea alone when a group of people walked in through the cafeteria entrance.

Four men and one woman.

The woman watched Wen Ying timidly, hiding behind the four men and occasionally peeking her head out.

She had delicate features but wasn’t what you’d call a beauty—just average-looking.

The woman wore a long, floral-print dress that completely covered her legs. Her long hair was casually pulled back into a messy bun.

As the woman reached out to tug at her skirt, Wen Ying thought she saw the flash of a bruise on her arm.

But she quickly lowered her arm, placing both hands behind her back as she looked at Wen Ying.

"Hello, I’m Zhao Ge. It’s a Flower Country name I gave myself. You can call me Brother Zhao."

The man in the lead took the initiative to greet Wen Ying.

With her mouth full, Wen Ying pointed to the seat next to her, motioning for him to sit down and talk.

Although slightly annoyed by Wen Ying’s attitude, Zhao Ge still found a seat and sat down.

The remaining three men and the woman, however, remained standing where they were.

Wen Ying glanced at them. "Aren’t you going to sit? There are plenty of seats. Isn’t it tiring to stand?"

Hearing Wen Ying’s words, Zhao Ge smiled. "Such a kind heart from a pretty lady."

The others didn’t respond either, so Wen Ying said no more and went back to focusing on her afternoon tea.

Seeing the afternoon tea spread before Wen Ying, the newcomers couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

’We’re all human, so why is there such a huge difference between us?’

’Here, the food we eat is basically pig slop.’

’No, it’s worse than pig slop!’

’So why does this woman get to eat food from the human world for every meal?’

’And even gets afternoon tea?’

’This woman couldn’t be the biological daughter of some big shot in the asylum, could she?’

Of course, they didn’t actually believe that themselves.

’We just don’t know what ace she has up her sleeve to be acting so brazenly.’

"And how should I address you?"

Zhao Ge asked again, maintaining his good humor.

Wen Ying pointed to her afternoon tea, then to herself. "I don’t like to talk or be disturbed when I’m eating."

"Who the hell do you think you are?! How dare you speak to Brother Zhao like that!" Before Zhao Ge could even respond, one of the men behind him couldn’t hold it in any longer.
