Chapter 2604: Chapter 77: His Fat, Greasy Hand Touched Her Fair, Soft Hand Back
In the dimly lit, ambiguous private room, light and shadow intertwined.
The colorful ceiling lights were still spinning, and the big screen was paused on the image of a female singer holding a microphone, singing softly.
On the innermost sofa of the private room sat several young girls, with outstanding looks and wearing cool outfits.
A large tea table was placed in the middle of the sofa, covered with various expensive liquor, fruit platters, snacks, and an open contract.
On this end of the sofa was Andrew Mitchell, looking astonished, with a bodyguard standing coldly behind him.
On the other end of the sofa sat a man in a dark suit.
The man was tall and imposing, radiating an invisible pressure just by sitting there.
His face was expressionless, except when he caught sight of a figure outside the door, a trace of dark light flashed in his icy blue, almond-shaped eyes.
Charles Taylor didn’t expect to encounter Abraham Redington here!
At the sight of Abraham Redington, his first reaction was to turn his head and run.
Unfortunately, his legs went soft, and he was a step too slow.
His arm was firmly grasped by Molly Wellington.
"What are you afraid of? Mr. Taylor, don’t forget... we’re here for business negotiations." Molly Wellington took a step forward, standing side by side with Charles Taylor, her right hand seemingly casually yet firmly clasping Charles Taylor’s arm.
Just now, Charles Taylor only felt weak in the legs; now, he felt like his left arm was about to be pierced by someone’s gaze.
Not only were his legs weak, but now his side hurt, too.
"Secretary Wellington, A-A-Abraham Redington is inside." Charles Taylor had been afraid of this cousin since he was little.
Seeing Abraham Redington always reminded him of chasing him, crying with a runny nose, to get his Transformers back as a child.
And the ’childhood shadow’ of being dragged into the small dark room at every turn.
"Do you owe him money?" Molly Wellington asked blandly, without even glancing at the person inside the room.
She had long known that Abraham Redington had come to H city and was very interested in the Stellar Haven Plaza Project.
If it weren’t for this, she wouldn’t have dragged Charles Taylor over tonight.
Regarding this man, at the beginning, she did put in endless effort to improve herself because of her godfather’s words, hoping to make herself better and brighter, to make him regret.
But now, she no longer clung to petty love and emotions.
She had broken free and saw a much broader world.
Even if encountering this man she once loved again, her heart remained unaffected.
Charles Taylor was stunned for a moment. "Of course, I don’t owe him."
"Since you don’t owe him money, what’s there to be afraid of... Come on, follow me in." After saying this, Molly Wellington hooked Charles Taylor’s arm and dragged him inside.
Charles Taylor: "..."
Is she out of her mind?
Even if he doesn’t owe Abraham Redington money, as a member of the Lucas family, how could he not know how things ended up awkwardly between Abraham Redington and Molly Wellington back then?
Old lovers, even those who almost got married, meeting again.
One indifferent and expressionless, the other even more indifferent and unconcerned, this was completely abnormal!
Charles Taylor just felt like he was caught in a smokeless war, following behind Molly Wellington step by step, approaching the booth.
"Hello, Mr. Mitchell. I am Molly Wellington, secretary to the CEO of Royal Palace Group’s H City branch, and this is our CEO, Mr. Taylor."
Molly Wellington directly ignored Abraham Redington sitting on the other side, went straight to Andrew Mitchell, and handed over her business card for a negotiation.
Andrew Mitchell, who had just been at gunpoint, felt disoriented when the gun at the back of his head was removed as the private room door opened.
He was still a bit dizzy at the moment, and when he looked up, those slightly tipsy eyes saw a beautiful yet stunningly cold woman standing in front of him.
"A business card handed by a beautiful woman... of course, I’ll take it..." Andrew Mitchell, slightly intoxicated, took the business card from Molly Wellington, his greasy hand touching the soft, fair back of her hand.
