Chapter 321: The Ashes of the Graves Anthem

The black Porsche glided through the empty tunnels, moving toward the secure part of the Spires. Nash had just left the arena after talking with the girls. Now, it was just him and Victoria in the car. The dashboard gave off a soft orange glow that lit up their faces in the dark.

Victoria just sat there in the passenger seat, staring straight ahead at the walls rushing past them. Meeting Alexia in the hallway earlier had messed with her. She wasn’t acting like her usual cold self tonight. After the intimate time she and Nash shared the night before, her walls had completely crumbled and it felt like for the first time in her life, everything could just reach her.

Nash kept his eyes on the road, but he could feel how heavy the silence was. He knew she had something on her mind. He slowly let off the gas, slowing the car down so he could actually listen to her.

"You are very quiet, Victoria," Nash said. "Did that match really shake you up that much?"

Victoria flinched a little. She turned her head toward the window, trying to hide how upset she was. She waved her hand vaguely, trying to act like it was nothing.

"It’s nothing, Nash... I am calm, I swear. I’m just thinking about the plans for tomorrow, the Baby-Boom match... It’s nothing important."

Nash didn’t answer right away. There was another long silence, with only the low noise of the engine filling the space. He knew she was lying, but he didn’t want to force her to talk. He just rested his big hand on the gear shifter, waiting for her to be ready. Victoria nervously tapped her fingers against her thigh. She took a long breath, then finally looked at him.

"No, actually... There’s something. I don’t want us to have secrets," she started. "I told you I was a manager in the Upperworld, but I need to explain why I had to leave everything behind and come down into this mess."

Nash nodded slowly, slowing the Porsche even more so he could hear her clearly.

"A few years ago, I built a team from nothing," Victoria explained. Her fingers tightened on her leg as she looked down. "The Graves Anthem. Alexia, the blonde from the Falcons, she was one of the first players I signed. Back then, I wanted to rule that circuit. You know how much power Breakball has up there. It’s the biggest way to get resources and real power in a society full of greedy people. To get the best results, I spent months searching the best talents without any affiliation. I had quite a good roster, but my real catch was a young genius from the streets. A scary talent named Flash Goldust."

She stopped for a second, her breath hitching. Her voice got tighter. She shifted in her seat and pulled her shoulders in.

"When I look at Blacklist today, it feels like I am building my army of monsters again," she whispered, staring at the dashboard. "You are my dragon, Nash. But back in the Graves Anthem days, it was Flash. He went from a nobody rookie to a superstar in just a few months. We won every single game. The big sponsors were throwing millions of dollars at us. But the higher we climbed, the more Flash became obsessed with his fame. And one day, he crossed a line. He actually believed that because he was the star player, he owned me. He thought he could buy his manager. This guy had an obsession with dominating people, and of course, he saw me as his biggest challenge. He kept asking that I sleep with him, that I give him my body as a reward for how well he played."

Her fingers dug into the fabric of her coat.

"At first, he was just an annoying fly trying too much. But the more I rejected him, the more he was fascinated. He could get any girl, except one. And like a good old predator, the best food was the one you couldn’t eat. I kept rejected him, every single time," she said, grinding her teeth. "I am a Graves, this is the name of my mother and I chose to carry it. And a grave will never again give her body just to keep a bastard happy... Oh, thanks for rejecting me by the way,"

"Anytime," Nash nodded.

Victoria exhaled slightly and resumed.

"So, I kept rejecting Flash. But because I kept rejecting him, his ego finally broke. He couldn’t handle it after being close of being champions. And that’s when Hector saw a weakness. That’s when he moved in. Hector secretly approached Flash and offered him a crazy contract with a team sponsored by Apex, the Golden World, along with a ton of money, if he helped them destroy me. Flash was so full of hate and frustration that he agreed to betray me immediately."

Victoria’s hand relaxed and fell limp against the leather console. Her voice became quiet and hollow.

"They did a great job," she whispered, staring blankly at the lights reflecting off the hood. "Flash snuck into our facilities and swapped the team’s urine and blood samples during a check. They made it look like the whole Graves Anthem team was using illegal drugs. The league confirmed the fake tests in less than twenty-four hours. Added to the fake allegations of me fixing matches, my reputation was destroyed. It was the end of me, I was suspended, and the team was forced to shut down. The reaction from the media and sponsors was... spectacular."

Nash kept his eyes on the road, gripping the steering wheel tight.

"How bad was it?" he asked.

Victoria let out a short sigh, leaning her head back.

"It was so bad that out of the whole group, only two people stayed in the world of Breakball. And both of them had to run down here, in the Underground, with no licenses, just to play in the mud."

She turned her head slowly to look at Nash.

"Most of the players quit Breakball right after the scandal. They could not handle the shame, the people bothering them, and being banned by the companies. Their names were ruined. They just disappeared into normal jobs, trying to forget they ever played."

Nash’s hands tightened even more on the wheel. His green eyes flashed with anger. Times ago, it would have been him discovering a new opponent, but the fact that Flash Goldust tried to claim his woman and ruined her life made this very personal.

"I see... I understand more now. Thanks for sharing that with me."

He stayed silent for a moment, Victoria never stopping looking at the change in his facial expression. It wasn’t sadness, nor surprise, but anger. Raw and terrible anger.

"If Golden World is backed by Apex," Nash continued, "then we will tear them apart along Hector. I will lead them straight to hell, Victoria. I am personally going to break Flash Goldust’s ego."

A huge wave of relief hit Victoria. The heavy burden she had carried for years felt lighter because of how sure he sounded. She reached over and gripped his massive thigh, squeezing it.

Then... something just clicked. Nash felt anger, but this anger she could see... Triggered something else in her. She looked at the road ahead.

"Pull over," she whispered as they got close to the walls of the villa. "Right here."

Nash raised his eyebrows with a surprised smirk. Really? That was her reaction?

He did not say a word and just steered the Porsche into a dark shadow, then turned off the engine. He turned to look at her with a small, amused smile.

"You are feeling emotional all of a sudden, Ma’am?"

"Yes," Victoria replied.

She took off her dark glasses and tossed them onto the dashboard. Then, her long fingers began to quickly unbutton the front of her black coat.

"I just remembered that we are not on Blacklist property anymore," she whispered. "So... you can stop focusing on the plan for five minutes... And focus on me."

She climbed over the center console like a cat. Her long golden legs spread wide as she sat on his massive thighs, pressing her body hard against his chest. Nash let out a low chuckle and grabbed her hips with his big hands to lock her in place.

"You are very eager tonight," he murmured. "You are always so intense when you are stressed."

"I am just excited," she gasped. She leaned down to bite his neck gently before kissing his lips. Her wet tongue slid deep into his mouth, demanding and hot. "All that old memories from seeing Alexia... it turned into pure heat inside me. I am dying to dump all of it on you."

She pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, then reached down and ripped her silk top open. Her heavy, round breasts spilled out, golden and perfect, bouncing right in front of Nash’s face. Her nipples were already hard. She rocked her hips hard against the thick bulge in his pants, grinding her soaked pussy against him through the fabric.

"Tell me, Nash... are the suspensions on this car solid enough?"

Nash looked up at her beautiful, wild face, his fingers digging deep into the soft skin of her thighs.

"I hope not," he muttered against her skin, and slammed his mouth back onto hers.
