Leo Joyce had his arm around Tiana, his gaze fixed on the slender woman in the distance. A dull ache bloomed in his chest.
She had finally come to terms with things and let go.
But seeing that, his heart ached for her even more than before.
"Leo, do you think we’ll ever see Amelia again?"
"We will. I’ll take you to see her next year," Leo Joyce said softly, looking down at the woman in his arms who was a crying mess.
"SOB... Leo, this hurts so much..."
"There, there, don’t cry. It’s not like we’ll never see her again."
Tiana pounded on Leo Joyce’s chest with her fists, crying as she said, "No, that’s not it! I’m crying because Cassian is in love with Amelia! It shouldn’t have ended like this for them..."
’They both clearly love each other, yet things still ended up like this.’
"What did you say?" Upon hearing her words, Leo Joyce’s expression turned grim as he seized Tiana’s hand.
"Cassian is in love with Amelia... SOB..."
"How do you know that?"
"My brother and Cassian drink together all the time, so I’ve known for a while. I’ve always known. The moment I found out Amelia was still alive, I told Cassian immediately. I hoped they would reconcile. I never imagined... I truly never imagined it would come to this." Tiana had always assumed that if she told Cassian that Amelia was alive, he would definitely go find her, and the two of them would get back together.
Hearing Tiana’s words, Leo Joyce angrily shoved her aside and took off in the direction Amelia Avery had gone.
Caught completely off guard, Tiana stumbled and fell to the ground.
She was too stunned to react as she hit the floor. By the time she came to her senses, Leo Joyce was already gone, chasing after Amelia Avery.
Tiana sat on the floor in a daze, so shocked she even forgot to cry.

By the time Leo Joyce ran out, the plane had already taken off.
When he returned, he saw Tiana still sitting on the floor. Suddenly, Leo Joyce felt a headache coming on, a wave of vexation washing over him.
He strode over and pulled Tiana to her feet. But just as he was about to apologize, she shoved him away, putting distance between them.
"Tiana, I..."
"Let’s just go back," Tiana said flatly, rubbing her arm and fighting back tears.
"Okay." Leo Joyce’s brow was tightly furrowed. He responded coldly, no longer in the mood to try and explain himself.
Neither Leo Joyce nor Tiana Grayson said a word the entire way.
Tiana turned her head to look out the window, and her traitorous tears finally began to fall.
Leo Joyce drove Tiana back to the Grayson Family’s home. She glanced at him, but when she saw he had no intention of speaking, she turned away, opened the car door, and walked toward the house.
Watching Tiana walk away, Leo Joyce slammed his hand on the steering wheel in frustration.
Tiana’s words from the airport echoed in his mind.
’The moment I found out Amelia was alive, I told Cassian right away. I hoped they would reconcile.’
