Chapter 403: Chapter 403: Saying I Love You From This Moment On (Part 3)
For the past two days, Mika Summers had been by Silas Kent’s side, waiting for him to wake up.
But two full days had passed, and he still showed no signs of waking...
She couldn’t help but worry. Seeing that Jessica Archer was also there, she decided to go out and ask the doctor what to do.
She was worried about what might happen if he didn’t wake up.
After leaving the hospital room, she hadn’t gone far when she saw someone. It was Tristan Grayson...
Her first instinct was to turn and walk away. Right now, she didn’t know how to face Tristan Grayson.
She knew she should hate him, should despise him, but it felt as if all those feelings were gone...
Seeing him injured, her heart still ached. When she saw him on the verge of death, she thought that dying with him would still be a form of happiness...
All her strong defenses seemed to be slowly crumbling...
Tristan Grayson was truly a poison—a poison she could never quit...
Even though he had wounded her time and again, leaving her covered in scars, she still couldn’t stop loving him, couldn’t feel nothing for him...
Tristan Grayson saw Mika Summers, too. Seeing her standing there, safe and sound, the great weight that had been pressing on his heart for the past few days was finally lifted.
’Thank god, she’s okay. She’s perfectly fine...’
He had already resolved to keep his distance, to not get close to her again so she wouldn’t get hurt. But his feet moved uncontrollably in Mika Summers’s direction.
And Mika Summers just stood there, staring straight at him...
It was as if, in that moment, they only had eyes for each other...
Mika Summers tried her best to steady her nerves and not let her emotions show. A faint smile touched her lips as she spoke first. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I’m fine. And you? Are you alright?" Tristan Grayson clenched his left hand slightly and forced a smile as he nodded.
"I’m great."
Hearing her words, Tristan’s gaze softened as he murmured, "That’s good."
A pang of pain shot through Mika Summers’s heart. She gave a bitter smile and lowered her head, only to inadvertently see Tristan Grayson’s hand. It was wrapped in gauze. Her delicate brows furrowed. Looking up, she asked with concern, "What happened to your hand? What’s going on?"
"It’s nothing. I just had something heavy fall on it a while ago, so it’s still not very flexible," Tristan Grayson said, smiling and lifting his hand as if it were no big deal.
"Something heavy fell on it?" Mika Summers said, completely shocked.
"Yeah. When you’re filming, accidents are bound to happen. It’s normal."
"Oh..."
Seeing Mika Summers’s distracted expression, Tristan Grayson’s handsome brows knitted slightly. He covered his mouth and coughed twice, then asked with a smile, "So, you were on your way to...?"
"Silas was in a car accident. He hasn’t woken up yet, so I wanted to ask the doctor when he might wake up."
Tristan Grayson’s expression immediately darkened. "Silas Kent was in a car accident?"
"Mhm."
"When did it happen?"
Mika Summers frowned. "It happened that night. At the same time as our incident. Why?"
"It’s nothing. Have you been with him these past few days?" A hint of sadness entered Tristan Grayson’s eyes as he shook his head slightly and spoke in a low voice.
"Mhm..."
Hearing Mika Summers’s confirmation, a sharp pang of bitterness went through Tristan Grayson’s heart. He said coldly, "You should go find the doctor."
"Oh." Seeing Tristan Grayson’s impatient expression, Mika Summers gave a self-deprecating smile, uttered a cold acknowledgment, and strode right past him.
