Chapter 1802 - All Slain

The instant Ye Linghan entered their sight, alarm rippled through everyone like a struck bell; all of them understood at once that the situation had veered far beyond their expectations.

"Die!" Ye Linghan shouted, throwing herself into the battle recklessly, with little care for her own life. She was more worried about Liu Wuxie. The flag in her hand unfurled with a violent snap and swelled across the air, blotting out the sky as it twisted into a black whirlwind that swallowed all four of them.

"This is bad! It's the Heaven-Veiling Banner refined by Ye Guhai," the Origin Immortal screamed the moment he recognized the flag. He did not hesitate for even an instant, abandoning the remaining clansmen as he turned and fled for his life.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Ye Linghan said. She naturally would not allow him to escape. Since she had already chosen to kill, she would not spare even one of them.

The Heaven-Veiling Banner thrashed in the wind, releasing shrieks and mournful wails that carried far into the distance.

Just as Wen Qi was about to overtake Liu Wuxie, the sound of the Heaven-Veiling Banner reached him, and his heart plunged as though into an icy abyss.

"We've fallen into a trap! You two keep chasing after Liu Wuxie while I go help the Seventh Elder!" Wen Qi said, making his decision in an instant.

Liu Wuxie was the only at True Immortal Realm, so in their eyes, two Profound Immortals were more than enough to end his life.

After giving the order, Wen Qi rushed back without the slightest delay, hoping he could still arrive in time. After all, they all assumed Ye Linghan had killed the Wen Clan's experts, while Liu Wuxie had merely assisted from the side.

When the Heaven-Veiling Banner crashed down from the sky, its shadow swept over all four of them. The three Profound Immortals died on the spot, while the Origin Immortal continued to struggle, summoning his artifact in a desperate attempt to resist the flag's power.

With the Origin Immortal no longer pursuing him, the pressure on Liu Wuxie finally eased.

"That was close!" Liu Wuxie sighed.

If Wen Qi had continued chasing him, he would have caught up with him in only a few breaths. After all, Origin Immortals could fly, and Liu Wuxie had no way to outrun one.

The trio continued the chase. Liu Wuxie circled through the mountain range, using its rugged terrain to make it difficult for the two Profound Immortals to kill him. With Ghost Pupil and Divine Tribulation Pupil, he slipped past their attacks repeatedly.

"Liu Wuxie, you can't escape!" the two Profound Immortals screamed, their frustration evident in their voices.

Liu Wuxie's speed was not particularly overwhelming, but the surrounding terrain became his shield.

Not long ago, just when they believed they were about to catch Liu Wuxie, he had slipped into a hollowed tree.

"Damn it! How did Liu Wuxie know that these two tree holes were connected?" the Profound Immortal on the right said, striking out with his palm and smashing the tree into fragments.

"Continue to chase after him! I'd like to see how long his immortal energy can last!" the Profound Immortal on the left said, his eyes reddening with rage. Among the dead Wen Clan members, one had been his relative.

As the pursuit dragged on, Liu Wuxie had already fled more than a hundred miles away.

Wen Qi successfully rushed back and summoned his flying sword. It shot out with a sharp whistle, cutting toward Ye Linghan's back.

"Frostlight Curtain!" Ye Linghan said, swinging her sword at Wen Qi while controlling the Heaven-Veiling Banner with her left hand.

"Wen Qi, save me!" the Seventh Elder shouted. The Heaven-Veiling Banner had wrapped around him tightly, locking him in place until he could not move.

Ye Linghan's sword dissolved Wen Qi's attack. The Frostlight Curtain then surged outward, sending powerful ripples spreading in every direction. Meanwhile, the Seventh Elder, bound within the Heaven-Veiling Banner, spat blood as his internal organs ruptured.

"Die!" Ye Linghan said, unleashing a sword ray that drilled into the Heaven-Veiling Banner and claimed the Seventh Elder's life. After that, she recalled the flag and swept it toward Wen Qi.

"Run!" Wen Qi was so terrified that his soul nearly tore free from his body. He turned at once and fled for his life.

"Wen Qi, you old bastard. You kept causing trouble for us back in the Azure Flame Dao Hall, and today you will pay for it with your life!" Ye Linghan declared, racing after Wen Qi. As a second-level Origin Immortal, her speed was twice Wen Qi's.

After killing four people, she had already badly depleted her immortal energy, but she forced the rest under her control and activated the Heaven-Veiling Banner once more.

"Ye Linghan, I'll fight you to the death!" Wen Qi said, suddenly turning around and charging at her with the intent of mutual destruction.

The Heaven-Veiling Banner had once been Ye Guhai's lifebound artifact, but a year ago, he had handed it to Ye Linghan to keep her safe.

Ye Linghan was desperate to help Liu Wuxie, so she wanted to end the battle as quickly as possible. When the Heaven-Veiling Banner rolled back, it skimmed closer to the ground and moved even faster than before.

Wen Qi was still in midair when a terrifying suction force locked onto him and dragged him downward. He struggled, trying to break free from the Heaven-Veiling Banner's control. But a sword fell, and Wen Qi's head flew into the air, severed cleanly from his body.

After killing Wen Qi, Ye Linghan traced Liu Wuxie's aura and gave chase. She took out several pills and swallowed them to recover the immortal energy in her dantian.

"Liu Wuxie, let me see where you can run this time!" one of the Profound Immortals said. A massive cliff blocked the way ahead, leaving no path forward. The two Profound Immortals advanced step by step, cruel smiles spreading across their faces.

Liu Wuxie frowned when he realized the situation had forced him into a dead end. Ghost Pupil and Divine Tribulation Pupil could reveal everything around them, but they could not see more than several thousand meters away. When he had fled earlier, he had not taken the time to choose his route carefully.

He tightened his grip on the Bloodthirst Blade. If he had no other choice, he could only stall them with everything he had. As long as he lasted until Ye Linghan arrived, he would survive.

The two Profound Immortals leaped forward and appeared before Liu Wuxie, unleashing powerful attacks that sealed every escape route and cut off any chance of him jumping from the cliff.

"Instant Flash!" Liu Wuxie roared, and the Bloodthirst Blade descended from the sky, its trajectory even more elusive than before now that he had reached the second-level True Immortal Realm.

Although Liu Wuxie blocked the incoming attacks, the powerful sword aura blasted him backward. He slammed into the cliff wall and coughed up blood.

Wounds covered his back, and blood streamed freely from them. He endured the fierce pain and slowly forced himself back to his feet.

When he circulated the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron, immortal energy and mental energy in the atmosphere surged swiftly into his body. Under the nourishment of those energies, the wounds on his back healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

After refining the blood pool in the abyss, Liu Wuxie's physique had risen to an unbelievable height.

The two Profound Immortals exchanged a glance, and solemnity darkened both their eyes.

"What a fast recovery speed!" they said. They had watched Liu Wuxie recover seventy to eighty percent of his injuries in only half a breath.

"Keep attacking him!" they said, no longer daring to hold anything back as they attacked again with even greater speed than before. Each strike aimed for death, and Liu Wuxie could only rely on the Heavenly Crest Divine Blade Art to escape danger.

"Divine Mystic Yin Needle!" Liu Wuxie said, releasing the Divine Mystic Yin Needle in a sudden sneak attack that jolted both men. The instant they retreated, he seized the opening, drew out the crossbow, and aimed it at them. This time, two arrows formed on the crossbow.

"What the hell is that?" said the Profound Immortal on the left, his eyelids twitching the moment he saw the two arrows. A dark premonition surged in his heart. Could these arrows have been the cause of all the deceased clansmen's demise?

They had never encountered such a strange weapon before. The arrows possessed no tangible form, yet they radiated a sinister aura that made the air feel heavy.

The two arrows fired at the same time, tearing through space and arriving before the two men almost instantly.

"What speed!" the two Profound Immortals exclaimed. Despite already being on guard, their expressions darkened when they saw the arrows streaking toward them.

Even so, Liu Wuxie had never intended to kill them with this strike. His only purpose was to buy time.

The two men immediately retreated to avoid the arrows, but the arrows did not dissipate. Instead, they changed direction and continued pursuing them, gripping their hearts with fear.

The Profound Immortal on the right struck at the arrow, but his attack only caused it to split into two.

Liu Wuxie controlled all three arrows at the same time, and the burden on his mental energy increased tremendously. Sharp pain stabbed through his upper dantian, but he bit his tongue and used the pain to keep his mind clear. He knew he had to endure long enough to buy the time he needed.

As the two men retreated, Liu Wuxie took out a pill and swallowed it. The injuries across his body had nearly healed, but the pain in his upper dantian grew increasingly severe.

Ye Linghan anxiously followed the aura Liu Wuxie had left behind, and only after a tense pursuit did she finally lock onto his location.

The arrows chased the two men for five breaths before Liu Wuxie exhausted all his mental energy. Only then did the arrows slowly dissipate.

After draining every trace of his mental energy, Liu Wuxie felt a violent headache surge through him, as though his skull were about to burst apart. He could only bite his lip while blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

"Liu Wuxie, let me see what other tricks you have up your sleeve," the two men said, their expressions still visibly shaken. They understood that they had only dodged those arrows because they possessed the cultivation of Profound Immortals. If they had been Spirit Immortals, they would have died long ago.

The cliff wall loomed behind Liu Wuxie, cutting off every path of retreat. Yet his gaze remained as calm as still water, without the slightest ripple, even as life and death pressed against him.

"Cut the crap and attack!" the man on the left said, interrupting his companion. He wanted Liu Wuxie dead at once to prevent any further complications.

The two men attacked immediately, releasing two sword rays that shot toward Liu Wuxie's vital points.

Liu Wuxie closed his eyes as the two sword rays bore down on him. There was nothing left but to await his fate.

The sword rays drew closer, and Liu Wuxie felt his body locked firmly in place. The two attacks bore down on him like colossal mountains crushing against his back, leaving him nearly unable to breathe.

Just as the sword rays were about to strike Liu Wuxie, the Frostlight Curtain descended from the sky once again and shattered them. The remaining sword rays swept past him, shredding his clothes into tatters.

Ye Linghan descended from the sky and stood before Liu Wuxie like a war goddess.

The two Profound Immortals trembled the moment they saw Ye Linghan, nearly losing their balance and falling headfirst to the ground.

"Y-Ye Ling Han!" the two men said when they saw her appear without any trace of Wen Qi. That could only mean that she had already killed Wen Qi and their other companions.

"Do you want to take your own lives, or shall I help you?" Ye Linghan asked, her voice cold enough to chill their bones. After rushing over, she did not have much immortal energy left in her body, but killing the two Profound Immortals remained well within her power.

Behind Ye Linghan, Liu Wuxie immediately began adjusting his breathing, and his physical injuries no longer posed any problem to him.

"Run!" the two Profound Immortals said, choosing to flee at once. At that moment, they only wished their parents had given them two more legs.

"Die!" Ye Linghan declared, and her sword shot out like an arrow, appearing behind the two men with blinding speed. For Liu Wuxie's sake, she poured all her strength into this strike.

"Wen Qi, run!" the Profound Immortal on the left shouted, turning around and rushing toward Ye Linghan's sword, intending to take on the attack so that his companion could escape.

The other Profound Immortal was also named Wen Qi, and he scrambled toward the distant forest.

When the sword pierced through the Profound Immortal on the left, blood rained through the air.

"Don't let him leave this place alive!" Liu Wuxie said with great difficulty. Although his injuries no longer threatened him, he had little immortal energy left.

Ye Linghan endured the agony of severe exhaustion and pursued Wen Qi, plunging straight into the forest.

Wen Qi gasped desperately for breath, loud enough to be heard from far away.

Ye Linghan shot into the air, her clothes fluttering wildly in the wind as she looked down and swiftly pinpointed Wen Qi's position.

"Oh shit!" Wen Qi cried out the instant he felt himself locked on.
