Chapter 1383: Chapter 36: Flower Garden

Fisher had no idea about the specific situation in the Saint Nali Golden Palace thousands of miles away; he only gleaned some clues from vague words over the phone. If Elizabeth was currently commanding the war, then she was likely aware of the presence of the two demons.

Thus, Fisher had to consider whether or not to continue contacting Elizabeth. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

If Elizabeth knew he was at the Red Dragon Court after being gone for four and a half years, and instead of seeking her out, he’d been roaming around the South Continent; it would be even worse if she found out he’d been involved with the High Priestess of the Red Dragon Court Queen—it would be adding fuel to the fire.

Even if the two demons were lying dormant within the Nali Army waiting for the right time, there was nothing stopping an enraged Elizabeth from having them sneak into the Red Dragon Court and snatch him away.

Better to avoid complications; there was no need to contact her right now.

Fisher used some of the knowledge from the Life Completion Manual to alter his appearance, hiding high in the sky, heading towards the Southern Branch Mountain Range.

Looking down from an extreme height, Fisher could clearly see the general offensive of the Northern Fake Court. No wonder the residents of that Fake Court all went out to spectate the army; from this macro perspective, the scale of this army was indeed spectacular.

On the vast plains of the South Continent, between rolling mountains and dense jungles, Nali Army uniforms and Green Dragon Court uniforms were neatly arrayed. The diverse artillery and flashing magic looked like waves slowly advancing towards the shore, like a quiet sea.

Even just this fully armed coalition of various races was enough for the under-resourced and isolated Red Dragon Court to take notice, not to mention it was led by two legendary demon species.

Their target was Rafael, or rather, the "key" hidden within her to commence world destruction.

As he flew, Fisher’s mind couldn’t help but recall the information from Helair’s words that day.

The demons needed such a "key" to release their kin trapped below the Abyss, but what was special about Rafael? Could such a peculiarity be detected? Was it a nature, an object, or something abstract like fate?

If that object could be extracted from Rafael, then the demons’ actual target would shift from her.

Even though the next steps—whether handing it to the demons to release their kin or facing them alone—would be challenging, at least it would ensure the safety of Rafael, Moli, and the Red Dragon Court...

Fisher squinted his eyes, considering the army’s slow moving pace, estimating it would take a while before they reached the front of the Southern Branch Mountain Range. He had no intention of continuing to observe any longer and soon flapped his wings, swiftly crossing over them, entering the mountain range ahead, and passing through it to the back of the Red Dragon Court.

The rear remained busy; even if not every resident of the Red Dragon Court understood the current situation fully, most were just doing what they should, but the clouds of war still loomed, revealing hints of abnormal busyness.

Fisher quietly landed in a corner of the city, keeping his cloak on since he still needed to quietly slip back to the Praying Tower where he resided. Premature exposure would only bring trouble.

Fisher quickly exited the narrow alley. On one side of a shorter building, seemingly on the top floor, stood the figures of two demi-human women, likely residents there.

They were conversing in their own demi-human language rather than Dragon Court Language, seemingly about their own matters. As Fisher passed below, one of the demi-human women unconsciously focused on him until his figure left the alley and went far away before she snapped back.

"What’s the matter, Doy? Why did you suddenly space out?"

"It’s not that... I just thought the clothes that person who passed by was wearing looked familiar."

"Clothes? What clothes... Never mind that, Doy, have you prepared the order for those armors, and by the way, pass me the broom."

"Don’t worry, it’s ready. My husband has already taken the order to the military camp, and we have plenty to keep us busy... Here, the broom."

"Thanks, Doy... Oh, by the way, did you hear? A strange thing happened on the streets near us last night."

"Strange thing?"

"Yes, they say several families on the neighboring street had clothes drying on their rooftops mysteriously disappear in the middle of the night, and most of them were women’s clothes!"

"Oh dear, that is... Could it be some pervert at night? Surely someone with a crush on that werewolf species lady did it!"

"But I heard the ones who lost clothes were left with several pieces of purple gemstones, etched with some bizarre symbols... Priest Crimea said they seemed to be... symbols of the Mother Goddess of the Western Continent, and it’s said they glow! They say holding them soothes one’s mind, makes one want to chant the Mother Goddess’s names. After chanting, one becomes calm and quickly gets sleepy, supposed to help with insomnia..."

"What, are they crazy? Did they report this to the officials of the Praying Tower?"

"Oh, come on, what’s there to tell? It’s just some stones, after all, and those people did lose their clothes; it’s compensation, I suppose. You know, clothes are precious to us too... Oh, I heard those stones are beautiful, regardless of value, even just as jewelry they’d be exquisite."
