Chapter 153: Chapter 153: He Must Want to See You

Originally, Sarah Sullivan was interested in Ian Preston, but the more she got to know him, the more she became interested in Thea Lynch.

In her eyes, Ian Preston wasn’t that important anymore.

Anyway, her dad told her to tone it down and not to pursue Ian Preston. But he didn’t say she couldn’t pursue Thea Lynch.

So why couldn’t she change her target?

Ten minutes later, Mr. Sullivan received a call from Sarah, and after hearing what she said, his blood pressure skyrocketed in anger.

"Sarah, come back home right now! Immediately!"

"Dad, calm down. Don’t yell at her." Next to him, Sarah’s brother tried to soothe him, taking the phone over. "Let me talk to her."

"Sarah."

"Hmm," Sarah replied, "What’s up?"

"What did you say to Dad to make him so angry? I’ve told you countless times, be careful when you’re talking to him."

This sister of his always said shocking things. Her thoughts were all over the place, a new one every moment.

Their dad was up there in age, and he couldn’t keep up with her thinking, always getting upset.

"I didn’t say anything much," Sarah didn’t think she did anything wrong.

After pausing, her brother said, "Don’t insist on the Ian Preston thing. I’ve sent Mr. Liu to Coronet to pick you up, and you’ll come back together in the morning."

He naively thought the problem was still about Ian Preston.

But, to his surprise, Sarah said, "I’m not interested in Ian Preston anymore. I’ve shifted my target, so you can tell Mr. Liu to head back."

"Shifted target?" Sarah’s brother was stunned, but on second thought, he felt it might be a good thing.

As long as it wasn’t Ian Preston, it was fine.

"Alright, suit yourself then."

Upon hearing this, Mr. Sullivan widened his eyes, clutching his chest, pointing, and saying, "Suit yourself? Ask her who her new target is!"

Sarah’s brother quickly asked, "Who’s your target?"

In Coronet, aside from Ian Preston, there didn’t seem to be anyone Sarah couldn’t target. So who was it that made their dad react so strongly?

Even he was getting a bit curious.

"Thea Lynch."

"Oh, Thea..." Wait a minute.

Sarah’s brother paused in his speech.

Thea Lynch?

He wasn’t sure this Thea Lynch was the one he knew.

But among the Lynch family members in Coronet, the ones who could be named, the ones in the major estate came first.

"You don’t mean the Thea Lynch who hangs out with Ian Preston, do you?"

"It’s her," Sarah replied naturally, then asked her brother, "What’s wrong?"

"..." Taking a deep breath, Sarah’s brother tried to calm himself down. But he found he couldn’t stay calm at all!

"What’s wrong? Are you crazy, Sarah!"

"Are you out of your mind? That’s Thea Lynch! You’re better off going after Ian Preston than getting involved with her!"

"See, see, you say I’m crazy. But aren’t you guys the crazy ones? I wanted to pursue Ian Preston, and you disagreed. Now you’re saying I’m better off going after Ian Preston, what’s up with you guys?"

"I finally have a target, for crying out loud."

Sarah was getting a bit upset too.

"Tomorrow I’ll have Mr. Liu bring you back tied up and take you to the hospital overnight to check your brain!" Sarah’s brother finally understood why their dad got so angry.

Now it was completely understandable.

"No way, I haven’t even spoken to Thea Lynch yet. I haven’t added her on WeChat."

"..."

Speechless.

"Did you forget that you’re a girl, and she’s a girl too? What are you even trying to do? Can’t have Ian Preston, so you want to have his woman?"

Aside from whether Thea Lynch would even agree, if Sarah was competing with Ian Preston over a woman, Ian Preston wouldn’t let the Sullivan family off.

Where did Sarah get the guts!

She must be crazy!

"Who said I want to compete with Ian Preston over a woman? I want to be friends with Thea Lynch. Bro, what’s in your head?"

Sarah said with disdain, "You have such a dirty mind."

Sarah’s brother: "..."

"Don’t think about making friends either. I heard Thea Lynch has been in Coronet all these years, besides Ian Preston and a few others, she doesn’t have any friends."

"Is that so? That’s great then."

"What’s so great?"

"That way, I can become her first friend! One of a kind!"

"..."

What an absurdity.

"Who makes friends like you, following them every day?! Is that how you make friends? I’m too embarrassed to call you out!"

Sarah: "Believe it or not, I’m not going back tomorrow. Wait for me to get Thea Lynch’s WeChat first before anything else."

Once she said this, Sarah directly hung up the phone. Afraid her brother would call back, she immediately put him on her blacklist.

——

After the gathering ended and everyone was sent off in cars, Thea Lynch leisurely walked back.

She only had two glasses of wine, still quite sober.

Walking back was no problem at all.

However, halfway through, she suddenly remembered that there had been a lot going on these past days; walking alone at night, living alone, wasn’t very safe.

Just as she was thinking to ask the club to send a car to drive her home, a car suddenly pulled up not far away, with its double flashers on.

She stepped back half a step.

Shortly after, a driver from the Preston Family stepped out, apologizing to her, "I’m sorry, Miss Lynch, I dozed off a bit and almost missed you!"

Thea was startled, "How long have you been waiting?"

"Since you got off work," the driver for the Preston Family said. "Mr. Preston specifically instructed me to pick and drop you off these two days. When you got into a colleague’s car right after work, I didn’t dare disturb, so I just followed."

"Please get in the car; it’s cold outside."

The driver opened the back door for her.

Once in the car, Thea leaned into the backseat and closed her eyes for a rest. She didn’t say where she wanted to go, but these past couple of days, the driver usually drove her to the estate.

But upon getting out of the car, Thea looked around at the surroundings and paused.

Her sleepy eyes were confused, making her feel like she was still dreaming.

After a moment, she finally reacted, turning back to ask the driver, "Why did you bring me here?"

This was Oakhaven Bay, Ian Preston’s private residence.

She had been here before, so it wasn’t unfamiliar.

"It was Mr. Preston’s request."

"Huh?" Thea frowned.

"His flight will be landing soon."

"He’s back in Coronet?"

"Yes."

"... Okay, I got it." Thea followed the butler inside.

"Miss Lynch, would you like to rest now?"

"No need." Thea shook her head and sat on the sofa.

"What time is the third brother’s flight?"

The butler crouched on one side, helping her change her shoes. Upon hearing her question, he replied, "It’s not yet twelve, but it’ll be almost one by the time he gets back here. So you can rest upstairs first."

"Mr. Preston had us prepare a room for you early this morning."

Thea hadn’t planned on staying here overnight.

After pondering for a bit, she still declined.

"Did the third brother say what he wanted to talk to me about?" she asked.

The butler smiled softly and whispered, "Mr. Preston didn’t say. But I guess he definitely wants to see you."

"..."

Thea leaned back on the sofa, waiting for about half an hour, but eventually couldn’t resist the drowsiness and fell asleep hugging a pillow.

She wasn’t sure how long had passed, but she felt a shadow swaying in front of her.
